Default Specter: Gonzales 'damaging' White House

By UPI Staff
United Press International
April 23, 2007

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- A top Senate Republican Sunday said U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' testimony at the Senate Judiciary Committee was "damaging" to the administration.

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., was asked whether Gonzales aides should be "celebrating" because Specter did not join Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., in urging Gonzales to resign during Gonzales' appearance before the committee last week.

As Specter gets his marching orders from Reid and Durbin what more can we expect from this PA. sleaze merchant. Perhaps a deal could be worked out where if Specter resigns then Gonzalez would follow suit. This is just another example of how wimpish the Republican party has become when they continue to let this Rino run one of the most powerful positions. Think of what he will do to support the democrats if another vacancy occurs for the Supreme court. Will a real leader please step forward who is a real Conservative.

Regrettably, if Specter did resign (God what a gift) an extremely liberal Governor Rendell would appoint another extreme liberal such as John Street (Mayor Phila.) to replace him.

The biggest embarrasment (causing damage to the administration) is Arlin Spectical. He is an embarrasment to the party and to the state of Pennsylvania.

It wasn't just Arlen Spinctor. It was also Tom Coburn from Oklahoma who is one of the best conservative Senators who was also calling for Gonzales resignation.

Gonzales was pathetic in the hearings. He must have said "I don't recall" at least 100 times. He is either too too mentally weak and incompetent to be Attorney General or he was lying and therefore guilty of perjury. Either way he does not deserve to be AG.

I remember trial balloons after both Supreme Court vacancies from the White House suggesting that the President might nominate Alberto Gonzalez for the Supreme Court. We should all be thanking our lucky stars that did not and now cannot happen.

Regards,
Jack

Gonzales did nothing wrong until he started lying about his involvement in the firings. His lack of willingness to admit the truth has destroyed his chances of staying on as AG. Does this damage the administration? No. Does Spector need to be saying what he is saying? No. The GOP should get him to agree to resign behind closed doors. Bless the Republicans for always beating the hell out of their own!

Bush backs embattled Gonzales

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- President George W. Bush on Monday said he has confidence in embattled U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Some members of the Senate Judiciary Committee said after Gonzales appeared before the panel last week -- and repeatedly said he couldn't recall specifics concerning the controversial firings of eight U.S. attorneys last year -- that he should resign.

Bush has damaged the white house! Since taking office in 00 he has done everything he can to destroy the republican party. Someone this inept cannot be for real. It must be planned. SInce takign office he;

1. never fired one Clinton appoitnment. he kept them all!
2. Rehabilitated Clintons image and flew around with bubba and even called him his brother! [Gag me gag me gag me]
3. Bumbled everything he touched, supported leftist pink elephant candidates agaisnt true conservatives. Gave A. Specter his senate seat back to him on a platter, when this commie should have been kicked out of the RNP with no appologies!
4. Mismanaged the war.
5. Left the borders wide open. Had the USAG railroad 2 border patrol agents and a police officer.
6. Signed the SPP helping to slowly merge canada, mexico and the US.
7. Appinted a USAG who is a member of hispano-fascist hate groups promoting the succession of the southern US to Mexico!

I could go on an on and on. So who has hurt the white house more?

get a grip and smell the coffee!

Here's a little dose of reality for you.

Bush isn't running again. There's not much point in campaigning against him.

The choice in 2000 was Al Gore.

The choice in 2004 was John Kerry.

Now I have a couple of questions for you.

Would you have preferred Gore or Kerry?

And the most important one of all, what are you personally doing to insure we have a better choice in '08?
