Obama says fire Imus

NEW YORK (UPI) -- Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has become the only presidential hopeful from either party so far to say radio host Don Imus should be fired over racial slurs.

Obama Wednesday told ABC News he thought Imus should be fired and that he would never appear on the shock jock's show again.

Imus faces a two-week suspension from his CBS Radio-MSNBC show following a firestorm over his characterization of the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "nappy-headed ho's." Imus has apologized for the insult.

Imus is a lib, same as Obama, so if they want to jettison him that's ok by me. Or not.

Imus is famous for having interviews on his show featuring liberal authors, journalists and politicians. New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey (mostly Democrat) pols, as well as many national figures got lots of drive time softball bonhomie from Don Imus and it helped their careers.

Some credit him for salvaging the (William) Clinton campaign for the Democrat presidential nomination after Clinton lost the New Hampshire primary. In any case, the list of liberals whose careers and books he has promoted is virtually endless.

Now they call for his head. I wonder how many will step forward and say what a mistake it was to fall in with such a churlish troll. Doris Kearns Goodwin, Tim Russert, Chuck Schumer, Bill Clinton? Not a chance. There's no honor among thieves.

Obama said Imus' remarks fed "some of the worst stereotypes" his own daughters face in America. Obama called the comments "degrading."

Ah, but what about all the stereotypes promulgated by black rappers? Why isn't Obama (or Sharpton and Jackson for that matter) beating the drum on this issue?

I don't like Imus. I never listen to Imus. But, I've heard much worse on my local hip-hop radio station and seen black women stereotyped in much worse ways on MTV.

As posted on The Drudge Report, Imus asked when Sharpton intends to apologize to the falsely-accuse Duke LaCrosse players for all the nasty things he said about them. Touche.

Predictably, some bloggers and journalists are now trying to portray Imus as a conservative. This concerns me more than free speech and freedom to be a jerk issues.

When are we going to fight back and fight back hard? Why do conservatives sit passively by and let themselves be defined by the Left?

Finally babama stands for something, get the white guy. OK Mr babama that is fair considering what this ardent liberal creep said about your people. Now is this Black hope going to go after the huge number of his own people who fill the airwaves with filth that would make Imus comments look pretty tame. The hip hop gangsters on mtv and all over the radio networks who use this language with total impunity and absolutely no crying from babama, sharpton and shyster jackson.

Perhaps Mr babama is going to stand up and be counted, he actually went after a liberal crud card carrying member, does he stop there, is this a white only anger outburst, or are these black leaders finally going to stand up to the blacks who constantly put down their own women and every white person. Me thinks this is a white hanging only.

Obama needs to stick to political issues if he expects the nomination. This shows me that he is not presidential material. As stated by everyone else, Sharpton and Jackson need to find a day job as they are only trouble makers not problem solvers. Case in point is their immediate jump on the Duke Players, and where has this case gone? You are innocent until PROVEN guilty. Doesn't anyone remember that phrase or have we all lost sight of what America is all about?

This is true it is just that -"a white hanging" and if Obama gets the nomination it will be because he is BLACK. It's ALL about color for them, they lay it on the white man but they are the ones who see color so much more and want the emphasis placed on that more than any other factor.

Obama told ABC if anyone on his own staff made a remark like that -- "about anybody of any ethnic group" -- that person would no longer work for him.

Hey, conservatives: let's all remember this quote as one of our many contributions to the liberal pre-primary melt downs!! The Honorable Mr. Obama is leaving his mouth quite far open and just asking for a contradictory inconsistent self-destruct.

Go for it liberal pols! Scare the heck out of your own solidly supporting MSM. Go take them out and shark-whack them (leaving the grass roots conservative media that you try to outlaw like it's done in any totalitarian dictatorial country). Hey, you in the MSM watching this? Let's have the start of the greatest self-inflicted suicide of this non-starter liberal Democrat world view. Why not? The U.S.S.R. did it after three quarters of a century of hard work building socialism. Maybe the nationalistic Iranian resistance might show us the way for Mahmoud and his puppet masters.
