By the late 1790s, America was fighting an undeclared "Quasi-War" with France on the high seas. France's revolutionary government, at war with England, began allowing its navy to seize American ships trading with that country. England began interfering with American ships trading with France. Congress authorized the War Department to build six frigates (primarily intended to fight Barbary pirates, no longer confined to the Mediterranean by Portugal) in 1794, but by 1797 only three had been built.

Meanwhile, the French were further incensed by a trade agreement between America and Great Britain. In 1796, France refused to receive American diplomats, and would not restore diplomatic relations until America paid "a large bribe."

I saw that "Power Mad Look" in her eyes the moment she grabbed the gavel. She remimnded me of a kid in a candy store...no one present who could remove her from her "Sweet Kingdom!" It was..."Watch out now!" "I'm in control!" "Things are gonna be done "MY WAY LIKE IT OR NOT!"

Well, so far she's proven her point. She and her tail wagging followers are not agreeing to sit down with the president and work things out...her recent ( pardon the expression) "Fact Finding Trip?" clearly reveals her lack of cooperation and disrespect of the protocols of foreign policy of the administration.

The crown of authority clearly rests on her head, she believes, and her actions prove it.
Why the Republican conservatives and even president Bush have not condemed and asked for their resignations is beyond me.

Failing to challenge and admonish these outlaws of congress; allowing them to continue their defeatist policies, delays our progress in winning the war on terrorism.

The question then: How do we the people, get the attention of the proper officials in government that have the intestinal fortitude to disarm this intervention of our security?

Do we have to threaten them? If so what legal way can this be accomplished. They certainly have no restraints on passing laws that threaten our freedom and liberty everyday. It's getting very frustrating to the American people who are working hard daily just to keep the heads above the water to have to put up with such travesty.

We should advise our reps, that we want her gone and now. Who is paying for these unauthorized trips, how much is it costing us for this felons trips, are we all guilty of aiding and abetting a felon?

Pelosi and company are willing to sit down and make nice with everyone except the Bush administration and Republicans.

The Logan act has never been invoked but I think this would be a good place to start.

Why oh why do the justice department and the White House sit by with practically no protest against the doings of these underhanded lowlifes?
