The Britney Spears Of The Right
Cliff Kincaid
GOPUSA
The political equivalent of Britney Spears shaving the hair off her head, Ann Coulter made headlines at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) by calling Democrat John Edwards a faggot. Wearing a leather dress and a Christian cross around her neck, Coulter must be a liberal infiltrator whose purpose is to give conservatism a bad name.
I really felt sorry for those Republican presidential candidates who attended CPAC and were forced by the liberal media to respond to Coulter's remarks. It's guilt-by-association, but Coulter had to know that making such a remark would put those candidates in an uncomfortable, even embarrassing, position. As a former staffer and contributing editor of Human Events, I can't understand why this conservative weekly publication continues to feature her on the masthead as a "legal affairs correspondent" and puts her columns on page one. Jed Babbin, the new editor, must be sick to his stomach. Coulter's columns are anything but legal analysis.

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
Something is haywire. Several pro Americans for the way life as it was in the USA were booted off her web site for expressing opinions on protecting America from the Muslims and stopping illegal immigration. This is as bad as being booted off the Democrat Underground web site for being pro American.

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
Miss Coulter appears to have become intoxicated by her near celebrity status. Michelle Maulkin has established herself as a thoughtful and provocative voice for the conservative cause without attempting to become bigger than her message.

Here's a link to Michelle Malkin's comments on Coulter. You'll have to scroll down in the post to the part that begins Enter Ann Coulter.

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
Ann throws a lot of bombs designed to keep Ann's name in print. She's a very intelligent woman and was well aware of the fallout/publicity that would occur with her statement on Edwards. I think her statements were needlessly harsh but they appear to have had the intended effect (we're all taking about her again).
The rules for posting on Ann's chat forum seem fairly strict ( http://chat.anncoulter.com/phpBB2/vi...php?t=3530 5). Posters can get kicked out for obvious rudeness (language, etc) but simple stuff like animated gifs will also result in expulsion. What did the people do to get removed?

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
As a Conservative, I believe we stand for moral judgements to be leveled against any wrong-headed behavior. I always enjoyed listening to Anne Coulter but I do not enjoy it when she stoops to the same level as the liberal, name-calling, non-moral-based political activist Democrat Party hacks.
I have lost a lot of respect for her. She should stand for a higher level of behavior.
This feeling is consistent with the same sense I had when I watched her and Rush on the Fox 1/2 hour News Hour. I dislike the treatment conservatives face on other shows, I think we deserve the right to respond in similar bahivior, but even though I thought "good, finally we fight back", I ultimately believe it is wrong to do so. I demeans the FOX News Network to that same low level. I did not feel "vindicated" when the show was over. I felt "cheapened" that my cause was lowered to the least-common-denominator of humor.
As such, I believe Anne Coulter need to apologize to conservatives, not to the liberal media nor to Edwards.

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
i'm sorry, but i am one conservative that isn't going tho throw Anne Coulter under the bus for making a remark about John Edwards that i found rather strange. Considering some of the garbage that has come out of the mouths of some on the left i am willing to forgive Anne, though in the future i think she needs to choose her words more carefully. i have found Annes brass knuckle approach when dealing with the left a breath of fresh air.

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
Maybe Ms. Coulter was upset with Edwards' Cadre of Leftist Bloggers refering to social conservatives as Christo-Facists. I believe Mr. Kincaids' outrage is misdirected. I believe that homosexuals are entitled to the protection of the Bill of Rights because they are human not because they are sexually deviant. Anyway, I"m not going to subject myself to this kind of drivel. I am so upset with so called conservatives like Liz Dole and obviously Kincaid. That I have removed myself from this email and website. Ciao

Re: The Britney Spears Of The Right
I simply laughed when she made her comment. I think that we have almost become as politically correct as the left in this area. If we would quit making an issue out of this and decide that we don't have to appologize every time someone sneezes wrong, then maybe these issues would not loom so big on the horizon.
Articles like this simply give credibility to the liberal's dribble.
Come on!

Ciao. DU will probably take you back.
Look folks, I'm glad to see that some of you get it.
For those who don't we are not talking about Coulter appearing at Comedy Corner. She called Edwards, who is straight, a faggot from the same podium that our Republican candidates spoke from at our premiere conservative conference.
If you don't understand that's a problem then you need a serious course in professional behavior.
We are not hypocrites here.
We condemn this kind of talk from the left and we also condemn it from the right.
