Default A Conservative Who Can Win

Doug Patton
GOPUSA

Three decades ago, two young lawyers worked behind the scenes, on opposite sides of the political aisle, to investigate the corruption and deceit that became known simply as "Watergate." One, an ideologically liberal Democrat who had recently graduated from Yale Law School, served as a member of the impeachment inquiry staff advising the House Judiciary Committee during the scandal. The other, a wise-beyond-his-years conservative Republican Southerner with a Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University, served as co-chief counsel to the Senate Watergate Committee. Little would anyone suspect in 1974 that these two could face each other for the presidency in 2008.

He almost seems to good to be true, but I have never heard anything negative about him and he does seem to have the values we'd like to have in our president. As a former senator, he has a paper trail so we'll know where he really stands on the important issues. Being an actor, he also has the all important name recognition, unlike Duncan Hunter, Jim Gilmore and others who seem like good candidates.

As of this moment and from what little I know of the man, YES - he would get my vote for Pres.

Ive always felt the President should be someone who cuts a bit of an imposing figure - Fred does that in spades. Great presence on screen.

Besides… I would just love to hear a REPUBLICAN voice speaking in a Southern drawl from the Oval Office!

I am with you Fred Thompson will and should be the next Pres. We need to pray about this. Plus, Thompson is a great Scottish name, my maiden one...Ann
