Nancy Pelosi: Come Fly With Me
By Frank Salvato
February 9, 2007
The hoopla over whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should have access to an Air Force commuter jet or to a larger, more amenity-laden, 757-styled jet just goes to prove that anything in Washington DC can be politicized. Quite frankly, with Ms. Pelosi's penchant for taking pot-shots at the president, I would have thought her request would have been for a C-130 gunship.
Traditionally, members of congress have had to requisition the use of Air Force transportation through the Executive Branch. The allocation of a personal aircraft to the Speaker of the House only began after the terrorist attacks of September 11th and then it was only because the Speaker of the House was second in the line of succession to the presidency.

I wouldn't afford this Dingbatt a crop duster. She reminds me of a 'clip on tie'.....fake,fake, fake. If she wants to fly, she can use her broom.

Speaker Pelosi's people wanted to upgrade the aircraft used to transport her because the aircraft that had been allocated for this task while Illinois Representative Dennis Hastert was speaker can't make it non-stop from Washington to California. The word that should be scrutinized in the last sentence is "non-stop."

Check this out.

Perhaps they are talking about having to stop once on the way back? But, one would think that this craft could be refueled in SF somehow? Sompin ain't addin up which is typical within the political arena.

Re: Nancy Pelosi: Come Fly With Me
Now that San Fran Nan has been elevated to royalty status she forgets she elected to serve. Now she thinks she is supposed to be served.
Who cares if she is second in line? When was the last time the speaker ascended to the presidency? Her security issues can't be associated with terrorists because she clearly has demonstrated a greater concern for terrorists rights than citizens rights.
Why should the taxpayers foot the bill for her family, friends, staff, etc., ad infinitum, to travel between WDC and her district? Let them pay their own way or walk; it makes no difference to me.
Why is Bush pandering to this witch? He tried pandering to Kennedy and all he got was a bucket full of crap in his face. His pandering to Nancy will have the same results.

Isn't that just the way it goes? Give someone a little power and they'll take it all!
