Once upon a time, the British use to be renowned for their sense of propriety and decorum. Now it seems, however, they are letting it all hang out just like all the other nations of the decadent West.

Trafalgar Square is, to put it most simply, a square in central London commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar. Makes you wonder then why then they have decided to place a statue of a disabled, pregnant naked lady amidst this memorial to great military heroes.

One characteristic of all decaying nations is the rush to distance themselves from the values of their pasts. As such, the Mayor of London, terrorist sympathizer Ken Livingstone, has expressed a desire to have many of the statues of the historical greats taken down and replaced with those of personalities more relevant to the 21st century, this no doubt being a euphemism for the purposes of honoring perverts and deviants.

For yet another characteristic of declining cultures is an unseemly public obsession with the sexual and abnormal. The nude is being justified in part to serve as a balance to "triumphant male statuary" dominating the park, that classification providing a great deal of insight to the deviant creating the sculpture who at one time crafted a replica of his head made of 4.5 liters of his own frozen blood.

But if that was the only reason, why not make a statue of this lady with some cloths on? We are further told of the need of the statue by the model herself because, "There is so much prejudice around sexuality, disability, femininity and pregnancy..."

Maybe so, but shouldn't her naked beauty be something only for her husband to behold and relish? If anything, in light of so many pregnant women thrusting their bear bellies into plain view stretch marks and all (i.e. the Dove Soap hussies), a little more Victorian restraint might do us some good with more being left to the imagination once again.

Monuments such as Trafalgar Square commemorate noble deeds undertaken in honor of God and country. *But had these men seen what the future was to hold, you are forced to stop and wonder if they would have even bothered in the first place.

Ok, Let it be known I'm not against disabled people or pregnant women, but that statue is so wrong for so many reasons. I mean come on where's the decency in a statue of a Naked, Pregnant Midget? Thats the kind of trash you would expect from Jerry Springer not the city of London! Is there anything holy left in this world? Bah!

I remember when some freak was having an "ART" display in Cincinnati.

He took pictures of people with bull whips shoved up their behinds, all naked, and pawing on each other.

Called it "ART"

This is the same kind of sick mentality.

Oh! Too late to get started on this one. I'm off to bed.

That show took place before I had made the transition from Democrat to Republican. I went as a sort of protest to all the whining that was going on.

I gotta tell ya, even in my liberal days, that was repulsive stuff. I think my friends were a bit shocked as well. So was most of those gathered there. All of us had only attended because of all the hoopla against it.

After seeing about 1/3rd of the exhibit, we came to the really vulgar room. There was a picture on the wall of a man in a suit. It was taken from the waist down and from about mid-thigh up. His pants were unzipped and all his glory was hanging out for everyone to see.

I said to my nearest friend, "Don't you hate when that happens?"

She said, "What?"

I said, "You know, when you take a picture and you accidentally cut the person's head off. I would think a professional photographer could do better."

The whole place filled with laughter !

This was one of the events that helped me on my way to becoming a Republican.

I don't ever share this story with anyone, because I find it really embarrassing. Well, you all are the first (other than the friends with me at the time).

I don't remember the clown's name. He was not a good photographer at all. Anybody can take a picture of a naked body for graphic effect.

As offensive as this is to most people, lets not forget that we have an abundance of our own "filty" art right here in the good old USA. *And then there was that naked and pregnant picture of Demi Moore that circulated through millions of homes via magazines and the internet ~ supposedly giving public nudity the air of acceptance. *

Our first amendment is a double edged sword. *With women and girls gone wild, ripping their clothes off at every opportunity, and men with little or no moral compass, the sensibilities of the past couple of generations are almost non existant.

I'm sure proponents of this type art will rush to defend it by citing the art of biblical times and other religious depictions showing nudity. *

My point, we certainly don't have the right to throw stones.
