Hassan was a devout, life-long Muslim who believed that the US War on Terror was a war against Islam. Why wasn't this guy discharged years ago?

A better question might be 'why did he join the US Army?' For just such an action as this sometime down the road?

It's a good thing he wasn't in charge of nuclear weapons or involved in biological warfare.
