The signers of this statement call on the people of the U.S. to resist the policies and overall political direction that have emerged since September 11, 2001, and which pose grave dangers to the people of the world.

Sweet lady, the Prez is only C.I.C. during a time of declared war. We haven't had one of those since 1941. The shame and scandel of all the dead in Korea and Nam and every little brush fire engagement between is the result of being involved with the U.stinkin' N.
Although the "War on Terrorism" is not a war but a reaction, I believe we should declare war on Iraq and do the job properly. God Bless Jr. for not being the globalist his pappy was. You can always tell a Texan but you can't tell them very dang much....Thank God for that! The difference between Kennebunkport and Crawford is night and day. When Sadman Hoosinsane stalls the inspectors I hope Jr. will ask Congress for a formal declaration of war against Iraq and I will then volunteer to head up the "Old Geezer" contingent and clean up that rat's nest once and for all. No more Buttocks kissing to a bunch of enemies posing as allies in the security council.

Are we not the people that we are today because we do have the right to question our politicians and their policies??

I don't understand how anyone who believes themselves to be a true blue American as yourself can talk about their rights and how great thay are while at the same time ridicule others or would want to stop others who are doing nothing more then exercising those same rights.

That doesn't sound very American to me.

Janice Ann; *I haven't seen the site Prim is talking about, but I have a hunch they are talking about detainees that are not American citizens. *Foreigners are not covered under the Constitution except for the normal American treatment of all people as human beings. *If American citizens are being detained they are entitled to all the guarantees of the "Bill of Rights" and entitled to counsel, presumption of innocence and habeous corpus/Bail. *We are in a war hysteria mood across the country, wanting to nail the perps and prevent more 9/11's but this new enemy is fanatic and hard to pin down. *The various Government agencies have failed miserably to prevent this disaster because of their parochialism and refusal to share intel.

Janice, I agree that we could have a lot of fun with that word. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif *It was brand new to me.

Just a word about trampling on rights. Liberals often make the mistake of thinking criticism of them is not allowed. They want free speech for themselves but not for others.

Of course the Hate America First crowd has a right to speak. No one is denying them that right. *Good Americans died to give them a chance to support Iraq instead of America.

But you see, those Americans also died to give loyal patriotic Americans the right to say that the Hate America First crowd are scum.

Perhaps you can show us where those who go on foreign soil to criticize America or those who do it here have Constitutional protection against criticism.

Janice, we will never agree on this one. As an example, Sean Penn is anti American if not legally a traitor. And we all have the right to make a judgement and say that we find him to be anti American. No, I suppose we never will agree on this one.

Now, do I support what he is doing, well the answer to that is real simple...NO!

Do I support his right to do it...YES!

One thing that you have to rememer is that we are not at war with Iraq...yet. So, I can't consider him a traitor...yet.

Jane Fonda is a traitor and as far as I am concerned, should be locked up till rocks die.

There isn't much more that I can say that hasn't already been said here ~ and I agree with every word. I don't believe in ridiculing my country or my President, especially during a time he is doing his level best to keep us safe and secure and to preserve all those wonderful "freedoms" that you mentioned. The same "freedoms" that millions have died to preserve.

Flander's Field is just full of pretty white headstones that made that possible. Even for the ill advised ramblings and misplaced loyalty of the so called "elite" who dain to come down from their ivory towers just long enough to spew their vitriol and "hate America" propaganda. That's what makes me http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/barf.gif Not the fact that they have a right to do it. However along with that right, I will gladly exercise that same right and let them know just what I think.

There is never a "good" war. However, I truly believe that President Bush and his advisors, the CIA, FBI, and any number of others are far more informed about Saddam Hussein than Sean Penn, Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon or any of the other signers on that deplorable website. BTW ~ I didn't see you name. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

Yes, they have a right to be ignorant and despicable just as I have a right to criticize them. My country is under attack and I will support my President in his quest to connect the dots. If you will notice we are complying with all the ridiculous mandates that have been thrown out. We have given the UN their opportunity and we are patiently awaiting their so called opinion. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif I won't hold my breath that they will come up with anything as they have proved themselves totally useless. This will be just one more resolution that they will let Hussein thumb his nose at.

Unlike Clinton, who marched on our Embassy in England during a time of war and that minion of sterling character, Jane Fonda who aided and abetted the enemy, I will reserve my admiration for the people in this country who don't spit on the flag and call it defending freedom. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

Afternoon All: Hope nobody was going to shop in the Wal Mart in Newton, MS. Understand that a tornado just wiped it out and there are fatalities. Also leveled an IGA supermarket and damaged several Lazy Boy factories. Is the weather getting worse or is this just another cycle - the weather people are blaming it on El Nino. The only thing good about El Nino is during the hurricane season and it keeps them off shore.

I have tried to stay out of todays controversy, but I give up. You have the right to say just about anything you like - You have the right to criticise the government - we do it every day and you don't have to like their policies - but when you go to a foreign country and give support to a declared enemy you need to forfeit your sensitivities about being referred to as being Un-American. I think GW said it right, "You are either with us or you are against us". I spent 24 years in the military and two wars just to give Americans the right to dssent and protest, but that doesn't make me like some of their actions.

On a lighter note: I hope you have finished most of your Xmas shopping and found just exactly what you want. If you have been a good conservative Santa will probably show up with that special gift.

Howdy all. Just thought I'd pop in and say hi and good night.

My Christmas break is going well. Shopping is done, and wrapping is nearly done. The tree has many presents under it so far (sales allow for more things to be bought. It's wonderful).

Well, hope everyone is having a blessed time of year.
