If you didn't set your clock forward it's probably too late now. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
The big news yesterday was the Bush/Blair news conference. What did you think?

Israel shelled Arafat's compound. They have not begun to pull out even though Sharon received a personal phone call from President Bush.

Our member ndplume hopes that we are interested in the Senate races this year. He very correctly states they are the most important races of the next election. I hope you will read his post and tell him what is happening in your state.

GOOD MORNING TERRI!

Had a great day yesterday ~ got a lot done in the yard and the weather was beautiful. I'm so glad I don't have to move to Florida to retire. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif *

Didn't watch much news at all, but did see portions of the Bush/Blair news conference. *They seem to be on the same page ~ it's just the rest of us who seem to be detecting mixed signals. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

"When It's Springtime in Alaska, it's 40 below!" *Terri, that was a Johnny Horton song and everytime I used to hear it I would think of the movie "North To Alaska". *Haven't heard it in years, but I do have that old Johnny Horton record.

Well, I have to go to work today ~ it's my turn for Sunday duty ~ so I won't be around till this afternoon. *Will try and check back then.

I'll go check out that article by ndplume.

Have a great day.

HI GOP!

Well, we made it for the 5 hour marathon walk through outdoor booths and booths of antiques, junk and stuff! I must have looked like the portly polar bear in all my layered clothing so I could dress or strip as necessary! We had an absolutely MARVELOUS time being able to come out of hibernation in the house and at least get some crisp fresh air......and find "goodies" in the process. Ahhh, one of my favorite things in life...sifting through the garbage to find that gem!

Didn't see a darn thing with Bush/Blair, and I'm probably a happier camper today not knowing whether we were for or against Israel yesterday as it seems to change on a daily basis IMO. Wrong and or muddled messages being sent from on high and it's making me seeth.

Gee, can't wait to prop myself in the recliner and hear the latest hogwash coming from our elected officials today on the "Sunday show". It will be a far cry from the fun I had yesterday...........

Morning all! It's been a busy weekend, and I didn't get to check in yesterday. I drove a rented truck back to DC on Friday to pick up a sofa my parents gave me, then Saturday carted the old living room stuff to good will. After that, I helped a friend paint her bedroom. Today, it's grading papers and painting the other bedroom before going back to school tomorrow.

Now, to news. Did anyone hear the Bush-Blair news conference the other day? I saw it, but missed everything, and I'm very curious about what they discussed, etc. The Brits are being very critical of Bush right now in their hypocritical manner, and I'm wondering if Blair was supportive.

Good Morning Again! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It's going to be a windy rainy one here today. I've been watching the morning shows and Colin Powell is making the rounds today.

I've had a few new thoughts introduced to me in the last day or two concerning the Israeli/Palestian situation.

One is this. As horrible as the suicide bombers are wouldn't it be worse for Israel if Saddam was able to deliver a nuclear weapon? I think he would no doubt strike Israel first. They would be much easier for him to reach. Could this be one of the reasons that President Bush wants them to go along with him now so that it will be easier for us to take action against Iraq? *Of course I don't know but .........

RIM, Florida was excellent planning on your part! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Try not to work too hard today. We'll be watching for you later.

Saber, you sound renewed. Now that would not work for me. I'm so busy trying to get rid of "stuff" around this house. I do think yesterday's message from our President was very clear. Blair's was a little less so regarding Iraq.

Sue Elise, I wondered where you were. I hope you will be all rested up for the kids tomorrow. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

BTW, I posted an article on the news conference in News.

Yes, I'm late today. I came earlier to read the posts but decided I needed a day off and so I've been doing lots of things that were not computer related today.

Hi to Terri, RIM, Saber and SueElise... I read all of your posts with interest. I see where you're coming from Saber and I am in agreement with you.

I am not sure what is meant by the Brits "in their hypocritical manner". I think that fingers can be pointed to many factions in the world as being "hypocritical" during these days.

You asked the question, Terri, about Mr. Bush's dress whether it was too informal. I don't think so. Mr. Blair isn't Royalty and as far as I'm concerned there would be some dress protocol if it was Royalty. This reminds me of the story of when the now Queen came over to Canada as a Princess with her new husband, Phillip. They were in Montreal and wanted to be dressed similar to the rest of the people at a good old country hoe down that they were going to attend. So they went out and did their own shopping. Well, a very famous photo of them both had them doing the square dance with price tags prominently hanging down on the back of their outfits! LOL

I must go to bed. It's after midnight.

I'm very interested in how the news will sound tomorrow. I'm still fuming that Israel is being ordered to get out of certain lands that I believe is rightfully theirs.

Hi Aberfoyle! Yes, I know. I don't like what we are telling Israel either. I'm trying to think that they will be better off if we are able to accomplish the Iraq mission but who knows.

Anyway, I'm sure we do have another busy news week ahead of us. I hope to see you all here and ready to talk. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
