Wow! Yesterday was a busy news day. There are lots of interesting things posted in the forum, so be sure to take a look.
There are two new Poll results posted in Campaigns. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twocents.gif *They are quite different. The Washington Post/ABC poll gives Bush much higher marks than Zogby does.
<span style='font-size:10pt;line-height:100%'>Words of Wisdom:</span>"If there is one article of faith that stands above all others in the creed of the new American establishment, it is that of 'Tolerance.' It is the universal and paramount virtue, so embraced by the institutions of politics, the corporate world, the info-entertainment industry and the academy as to be unchallengeable. We are all tolerant now; IBM is tolerant; the Republican Party is tolerant. We are so tolerant that, increasingly, we cannot tolerate any views that challenge our tolerance." ~~ Michael Kelly *~~ *

Good Morning Everyone!
It's a beautiful sunny day up here in Ontario, Canada and I sure hope it stays that way. It dropped below zero in the night.
Interesting to see that the cardinals have agreed to a ”one-strike-you’re-out” policy for priests involved in sex-abuse cases.
Hi all,
* It is a typically hot, dry day here in sunny FLA, but who's complaining? http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Thank you Terri for all of the news stories, and particularly for the new poll. It is a bit more heartening than the Zogby one. Well, tomorrow is that debate/platform I mentioned a few days back (between a representative of the SW Florida Moslem community and a rep from the Jewish community). I will let you know Friday how it goes. Also coming up is the Florida Annual Convention of the Federation of Young Republicans, May 3-5. Wish me luck, I am running for state Chairman.
The Floridaguy (decided to start skipping the rest of the letters; so could you if desired) http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif

Hi All! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Sounds like the news is a little slower today. It's dry and windy here. We have another fire burning. A small mountain town has been evacuated. We are all under an open fire ban here but it's going to be a long summer.
Aberfoyle, the Catholic Church is way overdue for such a policy, IMO. I'm sure they probably aren't the only church either. It's unbelievable to me that people in a position of trust aren't reported for abusing a child. We have a law here that requires anyone working for a public school district to report any incidents that come to their attention. I've had to make such reports myself under that law. Churches should require no less.
Floridaguy! I like that new poll better too. Zogby has not repeated his early accuracy in the last few years. Am I correct in thinking that it is his brother who is appearing on all the cable news channels to defend Arafat and the Palestinians? *Be sure to let us know how your debate goes. *I do wish you luck! Come tell us how it goes.

Good morning everyone http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif
GOPSRQFloridaguy good luck on your campaign and don't forget to copy your flyer and put one on every seat in the auditorium......work s every time.......almost. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Terri, great quote http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif and as to the polls, yesterday I read an article that said that by some coincidence all the polls (except Zogby) seem to have been biased towards the Democrats :turquoiserolleyes: can this be true http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Aberfoyle we finally have the promise of warmer weather to come soon. Bright sunlight today and temperatures in the lower 20s. Geese are one week late arriving here so far, no fools they.

Aknauta, biased polls??? *Oh, surely not! *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
There are reports of vigilante killings of those who gave information to the Israelis in the West Bank. Don't suppose the UN would be at all interested in investigating those.
And there has been a news conference by US Cardinals in Rome to express their regret for failing to prevent the sex scandal.
McCain has told Imus that he is not going to leave the Republican party. Wonder why I'm not joyous over that. :turquoiserolleyes:
There's a new Fox News poll. Since I seem to be into posting polls this week, I'll put it in Campaigns too. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Aknauta, do you have moose wandering all over the place where you live?
On anothe site that I frequent, we have a photo discussion where people can post their photos. Yesterday, a lady in Alaska posted some fantastic photos of a moose in her son's yard eating the new shoots from the trees and shrubs, lying down to have a rest and then crossing the subdivision road to see what was tasty in the neighbour's yard! They were fantastic photos of Alaska wildlife.
Terri, I so agree with you about the abuse of children! I watched part of the news conference but really couldn't watch the whole thing. Here in Canada, this has been going on for so long and it sickens me.
Florida Guy! Keep us posted on your election! I offer you my very best wishes for a good result.

FloridaGuy! GOOD LUCK!! How cool that is that you are really into "getting things done" for politics! I rant and rave alot, but I'd be too scared to death to actually put my hat in ANY ring (except my lampshade in the foxhole)! Nevermind...inside joke hehehehehehehe.....
Another grey, rainy day here. Boy, we better have a TON of beautiful flowers and lawns to make up for all this rain the last few days.....YUK!
This was a pick up and put away all those things that were just laying around so that I could then actually clean the house. ALL DONE!!! It looks pristine..and it smells good too! Unfortunately, I could probably start the whole procedure over again tomorrow LOL!
Sorry, not up on all the polls and news today so I can't comment on most of it...but I did catch bits of the Vatican meeting reports. Sounds like they are headed in the right direction....FINALLY . Seems like it's been an awfully long time to finally wind around to the right decision...WEEKS of bad, bad, bad press and new revelations seemingly every day...a call to Rome...2 or 3 days of meetings...and finally some announcements. At least it sounds like it's finally going to be heading in the right direction now.

WHOOOOOOAAAAAHHHH RIMMMMMM!
DON'T GO IN THE WATER GIRLFRIEND!! I just read that another shark nearly took off some man's foot while standing in waist deep water in St. Augustine, Florida where RIM went on vacation! This is apparently the NINTH shark attack in Florida this year. It's only April, folks.

Hi Saber!
My goodness! I hadn't heard about the shark attack! That's terrible.
Yes, Terri, I agree with your comment about the Catholic church being way overdue on coming to the conclusions of today.

Israeli tanks are rolling into Hebron.
BARF Alert!! Fox Cable News is about to interview the impeached ex President.
Saber, LOL! I wish we had your rain. We're on fire here, literally. It isn't very close to me, maybe 70 miles, but in a very nice spot. Yes, I think the Catholic Church took a positive step today. I hope they follow through.
Oh boy!! Not shark attacks again. I hope RIM stays out of the water.
