Somehow the United States of America can overthrow another government yet the same United States of America cannot for some reason cut their own grass nor build their own houses! We are told we NEED mexicans or our economy will collapse. What ever happen to "American Pride"?

People got fat lazy comfortable and forgot to keep the fire burning. We got too busy decided we want it all now and we want it cheap. No one wants to pay people a decent wage, that might make their profit smaller. It's not that people won't do those jobs, we just have standards and want decent pay. You can't compete with greedy people who would rather turn out crappy work just to have cheap labor. Anyone have ideas on what we can do to stop this?

Maybe it's all in how you look at it. Maybe we have prospered enough to be able to afford to have someone mow the lawn. As far as building a house, I am a master technician in my field but a lousy carpenter. Which brings me to another point.
We have made a science out of almost every technical field. We have also gotten specialists within that field. So if you are going to have a house built, there are masons that can do it better and faster than you can, plumbers, electricians, drywall, etc. This trend toward specialization extends to every other field as well. There is no loss of "pride." There are more areas to specialize in and have pride in your work.
I know I take pride in mine. How about you?

I don't know about your neighborhood, but we live next to a gentleman who owns a lawn service. *There is a LOT of $$ to be had for good lawn care and landscaping. *He employs a crew of four year round (snow removal) and about a dozen all through the "grass" months. *Not too shabby!!
And what do you know - he's a fifth generation American citizen! *I guess there are some American's that figured out how to make money regardless of their education and race. *Too bad more people can't take the iniative and come up with their own profitable business idea and literally capitalize on our American freedoms! *All without using illegal immigrant labor...

Exactly.
The red herring thrown out by many -- including Bush -- that there are jobs Americans won't do is a LIE. The truth is that Americans will do these jobs...but they won't do them for the tiny wages an illegal alien will. And the only reason this is able to happen is because the Administration refuses -- for hoped-for political gain -- to enforce immigration laws against offending employers.
