It's going to be a scorcher here - 95 with a heat index up to 105! They said the tanning index is up at 9, which means I'll have to take a lot of sunscreen too the beach today. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Still no part time job, so I'll soak it up while I can.

Class was interesting last night. Apparently this first class is less about how to teach algebra, and more a refresher course. I think it will be a breeze. Interesting classmates, though. One teacher brought her 4 yr. old son. When the instructor made a comment to her about keeping him quiet, she got offended! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sarcasm.gif The class has about 22 students, but about half-way through, 4 of them (obviously from the same school) decided - without saying anything to the rest of the class - that we'd all take turns bringing DINNER! Of course, the fact that this is an expensive idea, or that not everyone will be able to eat the food they bring, never seemed to bother them.

On the way home, I got on the highway for the first time since I picked up my car from the shop. As I hit 70 (ok, I know I go too fast), I noticed my hood was FLUTTERING! Apparently, the mechanic forgot to close the hood!

Well, I just read a really interesting article about what can only be considered "reverse apartheid" in Zimbabwe. I'm going to post it in current events, then I have to go to the auto shop so the manager can check over my car.

Well, just got back from the auto shop - they gave me a free oil change and cleaned up my battery! And, they didn't make me wait very long. Very cool.

What a wonderful day to start the work week off with its already 85 with a heat index of 95 going to top at 92 and 105 respectly and the Air for the whole federal complex is down.

Should be a nice roast and toast day.

Gpod Morning All. Today has got to be better than yesterday - had to take a stress test. After huffing and puffing my way thru the test my cardiologist put me on another medication. The counter is beginning to look like a small pharmacy. I think worst part of the test was the part where they rough up the skin to place the patches - still raw.\

I think GW got it rignt in his speech on the middle east. He didn't mention Arabfat by name but didn't leave any doubt that he needs to go. After being kicked out of Jordan and Lebanon you would think that he and his people would get some kind of message.

SueE, I am glad the auto shop gave you something after leaving your hood open! Can you imagine their liability if you had had an accident because of it?!

Temperatures being reported (by you guys) are balmy at best. Serious heat and humidity will be on their way. If you want a report in late July, early June on real heat, like in Florida (not Flordia), I will let you know. It being overcast, it is a rather pleasant low 80s here.

HKP fans, tonight I will post in our thread on Culture category, the bio of the great actor and voice of Scatman Crothers, who supplied the voice of Hong Kong Phooey, Scat Cat from the Aristocrats (hence his stage name), was the garbage man "Louie" from Chico & The Man (remember that one? http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif WAY before PC came about), and was the caretaker from one of my all-time favorite Jack Nicholson movies, The Shining. There is one that is a nice "slide" presentation that depicts the maps, history, etc. of the whole Middle East thing, and another on how which gas stations you fuel up at can or won't help the Saudis or other Arab countries. It's going to be a beautiful day here in the Seattle area. Mid 80's. The local joke here has always been that summer doesn't start until July 5th...but we've had a run of pretty nice weather in June.

In case you're not familiar...my screen name has nothing to do with my political leaning (I'm a very conservative Christian)...it's the title of the cartoon strip I create (as seen here on GOPUSA).

I've got to stand up for Florida when
someone questions 'cowboys in FL'. They are the second largest cattle producing state in the union. The Mormon Church has a ranch that takes in the whole middle of the state. Second only to Texas.

Welcome to all of our new members - the more the merrier. You can help us convince the government that they need to change their thinking on a number of subjects - This is middle America.

Seems as if the Arab world didn't think much of the presidents speech - they have a big problem. Still say we need to take over Saudi Arabia - would eliminate one hostile government and would end our need for oil.

While not technically a cowboy (as in herding cattle, entering rodeos, etc.), many citrus growers in Florida do in fact wear cowboy hats and boots in their groves. I am sure other agriculturally inclined folks do, too, and I am sure that RIM would back me up on this one. Besides, wouldn't you wear boots, jeans, and a hat to work if you could get away with it? http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Der Alte, You of course are referring to Deseret Ranch, owned by the Mormons. The people I know that work there are quite friendly, good farming folks. It is apparent that the Mormon church has done well for themselves, as they tend to be some of the largest land and property owners in many states.

Never said that. I stated just because I went to law school does not mean that I am smart. Meaning people can be smarted then me and never had a day of college education in there lives. Second about the grammer since law and non law use different grammer It may appear at times I dont follow the rules of the English grammer I don’t I follow the Legal grammer. Finally Spelling yes I should work on it, but when work related issues have 5 to 8 drafts each, personal spelling at times goes by the way side. I think for a while I will leave flordia alone. However I was not really poking fun of it all that much. Or was I?

The Colorado fires are improving. Hayman (ours) is forecast for full containment by the end of the week. Missionary Ridge is still pretty bad near Durango and the others are giving way to the firefighters.

I got a call this afternoon that someone cancelled and they were ready to come hook up the satellite. *This morning they told me that it would be the middle of next week before they could get to it. *They did it in less than an hour. *We have alot of trees, so that is pretty cool. *It took me a while to figure out all the menu thingys that can block the crudsville channels, etc. *I like it.
