It's a supercalifragillisti c Sunday morning here! Hope it is where you are too. Spend some time with those you love and then don't forget to come visit with all your friends here in The Precinct.

For all our guests who are out surfing the web and wandered in to see us, please register and join in. We have some good political discussions and debate ongoing and you won't find any friendlier people than you have right here. We love new members. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/f_rose.gif

Our news staff seems to have gotten too involved in the nuts and bolts of the Texas Republican Convention to give us a report but we'll probably get one soon. In the meantime, I've found a couple of good articles on it that you might enjoy. They are in Activism. Senator Gramm had some remarks that sent the Democrats sky high. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notworthy.gif

Jesse Jackson has decided to postpone his self invited peace mission to the Middle East because of continuing violence. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif

The pipe bomber pled not guilty on Friday. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/doh.gif

Last and Least, Lewis knocked Tyson out in the 8th round. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Morning guys! It is a beautiful day, and I'm beachin' it. It was very cool to see Tyson K'O'd last night. I almost wish I had watched the fight. Well, the club my friends and I went to had a very young crowd (the older I get, the younger 21 year olds look) so no one hit on me, but one guy thought I was 24! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif Made my day!
Well, go to check the news, so I'll be back later. Have a great day!

Floyd Sears! Welcome to the Forum at http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif I see you have posted in Our Military. We hope to see you throughout the site. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi All! There are a few things in the news this morning but it seems to be a quiet Sunday. We need that.

I probably should issue a barf alert with this or maybe a giggle warning. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif *Lovelorn Janet (http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20020608/capt.1023564158.reno _sheen_fad103.jpg) Wonder if any of the guys here want Janet looking at them this way. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/doh.gif

Theres a report this morning of traces of nerve gas and mustard gas being found at a U.S. base in Uzbekistan. They think it is from Russian storage of these chemicals in the past. They say that any exposure would be very low level.

Prime Minister Sharon is expected to tell the President that Israel will not withdraw to pre 1967 borders.

RIM, still raining? I'm jealous. We need it so much. We still have lots of fires around the state.

SueElise, the song is good for the beach! Have fun! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Saber, glad to hear you are recovering. I didn't watch the hockey game but just heard at the end who won. I guess it was a double overtime. It sure didn't come out right. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dead.gif

Good Morning All: Nice day here as well. The Canes lost but I think the Redwings have a little more respect for them now. Saber, I don't know what color print you are using but I can't hardly read it - might have missed out on something. I got so busy, and so lazy, yesterday, that I never did get around to cutting the grass. As dry as it has been, I guess another day or two won't hurt. As far as politics go, we here in NC are still waiting for the districts to be re-drawn. The Dems tried to re-work them to their advantage and the Republicans took them to court where the plan was found to be uncontstitutional. Now a judge has reworked them and we are waiting for the Feds to approve. Don't know who I'll be able to vote for. Years ago they made a district that follows the highway through several counties to get a black democrat elected. I thought they were to be laid out to represent all of the people, not just the few.

06-09-2002, 12:27 PM
Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend. Welcome Floyd Sears. My 'Canes did win last night (U of M, NCAA World Series super regionals), so I was happy, too. If they win today, they are in the college world series.

Terri, Great description of lovelorn Janet. Don't worry, RIM, me and many others are going to end Waco Janet's public life once and for all. Prediction: she will lose hugely.

Der Alte, in Florida we are very happy with the districts. Now they just need to survive the Federal challenge by Corrine, Alcee, and others. One thing I didn't mention about the Friday meeting with the Florida GOP Chairman is he predicted a minimum of a two seat gain in Florida in the (US) House, possibly 3-4, so we are doing our part http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Our state legislature has a 77-43 edge in the House and 25-15 edge in the Senate; he predicted both staying the same to increasing by another seat or two (both chambers).

It is pretty clear and sunny today, but we might get some rain late afternoon. That is really the best place for it anyway.

Saber, I am glad the finger is better. It is heck trying to type with one hand. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well, going to a Scout troop conference later this afternoon, and then to a Katherine Harris barbecue on the beach fundraiser to watch the sunset in Englewood. Should be fun. The meeting at the prep school went well this morning, and we tentatively think our son may be in. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/28.gif

Have a terrific day, and don't forget to post in the other threads, too!

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cdmusic.gif"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood . . ." tee hee

We really are having a great day--so many visitors in church today because of the visiting relatives. *Our church was almost packed!! *Just what we like to see--I'm going to try and talk some of them into moving down here! *

I saw on McLaughlin today that they can't decide what to do with those 14 cows. *Some of the suggestions they received were really wacko. *Eleanor Clift said give them, in the spirit they were given, to some poor people to help them make a living off of them. *Make a living off a cow? *Depending on how poor, they might just eat it!! *It'd be nice to live on a farm and have a cow or two with all that fresh milk and butter, etc. *My mom grew up on one in WI and has some neat stories to tell about it!

Saber--Glad your finger is doing better. *I've passed Great America a gazillion times, but have never been there. *They used to take the youth group from the church I grew up in there--but I think I was already grown when they started that. *The roller coaster looks PETRIFYING!! *I know you will be first in line on that!!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif:tearhair:

pRIM--when you go to Greenville--do a little honkie tonkie (toot your horn) if you ever go past BJU. *My son's will be there in August and my neice just started her grad work there last week!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *Maybe some day we'll be in the same city at the same time! *How far are you from Tampa? *My sister-in-law lives there.

SueElise--you are probably one tan little bunny by now aren't you?http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif *

DerAlte Have a Nice [color=blue]Carolina Blue Day. *The sky is kind of a pale carolina blue today. *GO CANES! *I heard a radio announcer on a classical music station on the way to church WELCOMING the Redwings--http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mr_yuk.gif *(They didn't know we aren't supposed to like them)

GOPguy--Yesterday, for the first time ever, I saw a big billboard with the Boy Scouts advertised. *I'm not sure how big it is here. *One of our favorite Disney movies is "Follow Me Boys" with Fred MacMurray.

Terri--Hope you get some rain--we could use some more too.

Have a great day everyone. *SYL

You know, I'm a little bit ticked off. I just saw Mark Klass on Fox having a fit because two helicopters have been pulled off the Utah search for the missing girl to fight fires in Colorado.

We have two large fires burning plus other smaller ones. One has consumed 7,000 acres and has forced 4,000 people from their homes. A 70 mile stretch of I-70 has been closed because of smoke. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ne_nau.gif

I certainly hope that this child is found but I think authorities are balancing the likelihood of a helicopter finding her against the severity of our situation. I think what really bothered me was this man's arrogance. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif

OK, now I feel a little better.

lpara, everyone will probably think I'm nuts but I think we should fly those cows to the US and place them at one of our National Monuments and treasure them. Very seldom do the people of the United States get such a genuine gift.

Floridaguy, congrats on your Canes win. Too bad the other Canes team didn't win. I hope your Florida GOP Chairman is right.

Der Alte, that's too bad that your districts aren't settled yet. I'm not sure what to expect. My district wasn't substantially changed but it took a big battle to keep it intact.

Good evening all! How was everyone's day? Mine was wonderful. But then, going to church and worshipping God ALWAYS makes for a good day! I ranted on homosexuality, so that's good. Oh, and I watched "Atomic Twister" on TBS. It was a good movie.
