Kennesaw, GA's
Mandatory Gun Law
A Proven Success

The New American magazine reminds us that March 25th marked the 16th anniversary of Kennesaw, Georgia's ordinance requiring heads of households (with certain exceptions) to keep at least one firearm in their homes.

"After the law went into effect in 1982, crime against persons plummeted 74 percent compared to 1981, and fell another 45 percent in 1983 compared to 1982. And it has stayed impressively low. "

I know this story is older now, but what with more and more states getting carry/conceal folk are beginning to understand that armed citizens mean less crime.

Here is a better case study, the population sample is larger and more diverse, and the term of the study is six hundred years. The subject of this study is Switzerland. Every citizen is a rifleman in the malitia, and they are required to maintian their arms in their homes. The crime rate in that country is a tenth of that in this country. Most crimes against persons end in a ride to the morgue for the perp. http://65.17.231.173/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif
