Just read somewhere that Bush is calling up the National Guard just for this event. I'll try to find where I read it later.
Have a great day ~ I'll check back after work.

Well, the Beatles could get it right, evenif they were Brits... The taxman cometh.
This forum is a GREAT idea! Nice place to commune with nature, smell the morning coffee, feel the breeze in the face, meet with the neighbors, lounge about, talk about ideas.
Good tax yea, getting a refund http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif , smaller than last year http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif , happy to get one at all, and WAY GLAD Al Gore did't win the election! More later, y'all.

RIM, I haven't seen that yet but I'll watch for it. It sounds as though next weekend is going to be interesting. Some of the guys on the wrong side are the professional thugs of the one world groups, etc.
Saber, it's gonna be a beauty here today too. In spite of all the things going on in the world life is good. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Good Morning Everyone!
Welcome to the new folks!
It's a nice day up here in Canada! Not nice to read that some US military was killed near Kandahar during the night though.
I'm just rushing through.
Be back later.

Bobby, it looks like we posted about the new poll at exactly the same moment. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Aberfoyle, that is really sad about our servicemen who were killed. I believe the death toll stands at 4. They were working with old ordnance of some kind.
In addition to the rallies next weekend there is a pro Israel rally this afternoon in D.C. It will be interesting to see how that goes.

This past weekend I listened to the DNC at their Orlando meeting, lament - again - that the 2000 election was "stolen" and they are going to "make every vote count this time" and win DNC seats, national and state. This seems to be the only theme they have along with the same old race-baiting, hate filled messages.
However, what concerns me is the GOP prepared for another voter/ballot fraud election? I'm not sure.
On Friday I attended the Seminole County FL Republican Lincoln Day Dinner where Governor Marc Racicot was the main speaker. I have the utmost respect for Gov. Racicot and felt his contribution in FL during the recount situation was invaluable. He gave a heartfelt speech. He is the epitome of class. But I was struck by the differences between DNC head McAuliffe and Gov. Racicot. Not that we want a McAuliffe as part of the GOP, BUT, I do believe the GOP has to become more aggressive in all aspects. The DNC are masters at dirty politics and will stop at nothing to win - as was in evidence in FL with their team of ballot manipulators.
The GOP can no longer expect to win being the "nice guy". The American (and Florida) people want a party who won't stand for the bully tactics, will stand and fight for their beliefs and CALL A SPADE A SPADE.
The voter is smarter than a lot of politicians think - they know a bully AND a coward when they see one - the GOP needs to STAND AND FIGHT. The biggest battle will be in Florida - ARE WE PREPARED?

Hi everyone,
Happy Ides of April!
Hey elkiejg, you are absolutely right about those nasty dems. Power is the only thing they worship and they are not concerned how they get it.

elkiejg and Sailor, Hi! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

So many times we have lost the battle because we don't have leaders who will stand up and speak out. I do think we have improved somewhat but not nearly enough. I'm really not sure that Racicot even wants to be in the position he holds much less be willing to speak his mind. It's a real worry.
Sailor, it's the ides of April??? *:o
The Pope has called all American Cardinals to the Vatican. This is said to be highly unusual. Personally, I think it's high time. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/red_eyes.gif
The Deputy Defense Secretary spoke at the pro Israel Rally as an emissary from the President. CSpan is covering this event.
There's also a rally of over 5,000 in San Francisco.

Hi terri,
Actually for some reason there are only 'ides' on the 15th of March, May, July and October and the rest of the month's 'ides' are on the 13th of those months. This on the ancient Roman calendar, which probably is not the equivalent date of today anyway, so that means I am waaaaaay off.
As to the Pope, there is speculation that he is going to retire from the position, a very unusual occurance.

Hi Ya'll!
As for the Vatican...I hadn't heard about possible retirement. In fact, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I heard that he was NOT retiring. Wouldn't he call ALL cardinals together for a retirement? I'm suspecting it has more to do with this homosexual/pedophile mess the Catholic Church is in right now, but I guess we'll know soon enough.

Afternoon all!
And hi http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif to all our new people, Sailor, elkiejg, Evil Republican, http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif and Small Town Boy. *Glad you stopped by.
Today was a little more exciting than I had hoped ~ the auditor showed up at work (unannounced of course) and I spent most of the day digging out reports and papers and answering question. :turquoiserolleyes: *I'll let you know tomorrow how we made out. *
I agree about how timid the republicans seem to be. *I read a book by David Horowitz titled "The Art of Political War". *There's a paragraph that says, "If only one side is shooting the other side will soon be dead." *He also wrote, "Republicans often pursue a conservative strategy of waiting for the other side to attack. *In football, this is known as a "prevent defense." *In politics it is the stragegy of losers." *It's time republicans learned how to play the game to win. *
Have a great evening all!

I've been out and about.
I did hear that there were over 100,000 people at the rally in D.C.
Sailor, I guess I just think about the ides twice a year when it's spring and fall. I should know better. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
OK, I'm going to expose my complete ignorance here. Does the Catholic church ever force Cardinals to step down? It would be my guess that the Pope is going to give all the US Cardinals some instructions for dealing with the current problems. Frankly, I just cannot imagine how this meeting might be. :o
Saber, I believe you are right that it would be all the world's Cardinals if a new Pope was to be chosen.
Hi RIM, sorry about the auditor.
I wish our side would just step up and tell the truth. Sometimes the truth isn't pretty but it's the thing to do. Why should we sugarcoat the message about Daschle, Gore and all those people. We need someone who will stand up and let them have it in a truthful honest way.

When I discovered www.ummah.com and read their "News" I was appalled. After reading every single post in their forum...I was angry!!! *The "Mainstream Media" must be held accountable for their lack of truthfulness in reporting...they are adding way too much "fluff" and no substance! *I hope Mr. Ridge, our former Governor *has people monitoring that site...

I hope he does too, ER. Now tell me when the mainstream media has ever been held accountable for anything. They just go right ahead spouting the Democrats talking points.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the "precinct news" this late evening before I "retire." *I am a homemaker, homeschool mom, attending the local community college taking two classes:red_eyes:, and pastor's wife--not necessarily in that order. *Life is a blessing and each new day a gift--I am especially made aware of this fact as I think of a dear lady in our church living her last days on earth--suffering with cancer. *When I go to visit her, she asks me how I am doing, and how are your allergies, how is your family? *Always thinking of others is this dear lady even when she is suffering--unheard of in today's "Me First" world. *Thank you for the insight in the forums and articles. *I am learning a lot! *God Bless You and Keep You and Make His Face Shine Upon You!

I really enjoyed reading your description of your wonderful sons in the Family discussion of homeschooling.
