Rivals Target Front-Runner Dean in Iowa Debate

Fox News
January 4, 2003

JOHNSTON, Iowa — Howard Dean drew fire from fellow Democrats on Sunday over trade, terror, taxes and more in the first debate of the election year, then calmly dismissed his rivals as "co-opted by the agenda of George Bush."

"I opposed the Iraq war when everyone else up here was for it," said the former Vermont governor, invoking the issue that helped fuel his 2003 transformation from asterisk in the polls to front-runner.

Dean's all-purpose rebuttal came midway through a debate 15 days before the Iowa caucuses, the first contest for national convention delegates who will select a Democratic challenger to President Bush.

It really must be sad to be a Democrat, always angry and pessimistic about everything in the world.

But it's really, REALLY fun to watch them implode. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Maybe if we just let them keep having their li'l 'debates', they will eventually disenfranchise, and demoralize each other to the point where they'll ALL withdraw and quit wasting OUR time listening to this drivel, and the rest of us can get on with KEEPING the best Man for this job where he IS! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
