WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- The Friday Campaign Corner is Talon News' weekly review of some of the interesting news items from the various presidential campaigns from the past week.
Dean Belittles Kerry's Plight
Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) was once considered a strong candidate and a likely winner of the Democrat nomination. Today he is not expected to win any of the first set of states to hold primaries or caucuses, and he has had to mortgage his Boston home to the tune of $6 million in order to keep his campaign afloat.
Now the campaign of rival and front-runner Howard Dean (D-VT) is mocking him. Dean Communications Director Tricia Enright poked fun at the struggles of Kerry to set the tone for the new year.
She said, "We read today's story in the Boston Herald in which Senator Kerry's communications director questioned whether 146,697 supporters actually donated $15,386,183.25 to the Dean for America campaign."
