Dean Wants Party Leader to Slow Rivals' Attacks

MES, Iowa, Dec. 28 — Complaining about the torrent of attacks raining down on him from his rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, Howard Dean on Sunday criticized his party's national chairman, Terry McAuliffe, for not intervening to tone down the debate.

"If we had strong leadership in the Democratic Party, they would be calling those other candidates and saying, `Hey look, somebody's going to have to win here,' " Dr. Dean, the former governor of Vermont, told reporters trailing him as he campaigned through central Iowa. Referring to one of Mr. McAuliffe's predecessors, he added, "If Ron Brown were the chairman, this wouldn't be happening."

Dr. Dean also implied that many of his supporters, particularly young people, might stay home in November if another Democrat's name ends up on the ballot.

If ya can't take the heat... get outta the kitchen!

Dean was the kid that always narced on you to the playground aide. *And will likely limit his action to whining at Koffi Anon instead of standing up for himself.

Well, that shouldn't matter. *After all, he has 1.5 million people on the internet rooting for him who have nowhere else to go! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Howard Dean has enjoyed being his party's front-runner with the national exposure that comes with it, but now he is crying foul after being attacked by his Democrat rivals and wants his party to step in and make the other campaigns stop.

While campaigning in Iowa on Sunday, Dean (D-VT) suggested that he has a lock on his party's nomination and that Democrat National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe should step in and stop the attacks he is receiving from his rivals before young voters turn away from politics in discouragement.

Dean did not get sympathy from those running against him for the Democrat nomination.

Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) on Monday said, "Throughout this year, Howard Dean has repeatedly attacked other Democratic candidates. But when recently challenged on his own policies, misstatements and retractions, Dean responded by complaining to the party chairman that we're being mean to him."

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif As for Dr. Dean , I once read an article about doctors and it said that the only thing a doctor could discuss intelligently were medical things. Sometimes I wonder about that too.

Neketa is correct about doctors in respect to the scope of their knowledge. I know about which I speak and that's enough said about that. And somehow, I have a distinct feeling that this little Bulldog Dean is lacking more than most in that respect.

Whine, whine, whine from the chief cook in that "insult kitchen" where Deannie Boy is whipping up another baseless dish with which to blast GWB. His crying foul creates no sympathy from this corner. He should just get right on out of that kitchen if he can't take it, but I hope he stays where he is. He is making it easier for a red-state revolution again in 2004, however, I am trying to be humble and realize he is nearly the devil incarnate and that anything could happen . . . in which case, all I could say is, God help us! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif

Once again, the difference between the left (the Dems) and the right - the President - is clearly delineated. The stuff being slung a Dean by his own party is nothing in comparison to the vitrolic hyperbole being spouted by all of those Dem "talking heads" as well as those not "out of the closet" yet (Hillary) at and about BUSH. Bush has been compared from anywhere between a total moron and the next Hitler. The attacks on his administration have been proven wrong at every turn and as a result, these sharks return to the basics of their nature, they begin to feed on themselves. When you are morally bankrupt and have not clear plan for the future, personal attacks and slander is your only recourse. I hope that America sees them for what they are and the whole shooting match suffers a meltdown.

By the way, I'm out here in LA LA Land and one of our local talk radio stations has had Tammy Bruce (former flaming liberal and leader of NOW) filling in and she has actually been making sense. She has come straight out and has said that she still is a Democrat and will stay that way but is disenchanted by the current leaderership of the party and the direction (or lack there of) of the party. She also feels that the Women's movement has gone so far to the left that they are supporting slimy individuals who in earlier years they would have decried (hmm...could that be Clinton?). Why this change? She said that her liberal indoctrination had told her that Conservatives, especially Christians, were intolerant, ignorant, rabid, and unapproachable..and she thoroughly believed this. Only after filling in on talk radio stations and talking to this "wacko" monolith, did she find that these people were much more versed on today's issues, had thoughtful and well-thought out points of view and were willing to civily discuss these issues...something that her "liberal" friends were not wiling or able to do. She said that it has opened her eyes to past beliefs and feels that there are many areas of common ground that could and should be cultivated. What do you know..maybe, just maybe, our seeds are sprouting!

I'm dreaming of a RED November.

Still don't know how it ended up being red for Republican, would seem more fitting for a Liberal, but anyhoo...

Dean's little Bantie-Rooster persona works well with the Far-far leftists who are always mad about something, even when they are in charge, they gotta create crisis' so they can blame someone else for not having already fixed it.

And why isn't it fair game to remind voters of the fact that Dean's son was busted last year for driving the get-away car in a country-club heist. Seems that nothing is off the table if your name is Bush, but a definite double standard is in play here.

Mr. Negativity, who got where he is attacking Bush and everything else, apparently can't handle his own rules.

This may be the funniest thing I've seen in politics in a while.

American Nightmare
*
"In 24 months the United States defeated two of the most hideous regimes in modern memory. . . . Yet no one would ever gather even the slightest acknowledgment of such success from our Democratic grandees. Al Gore dubbed
the Iraqi liberation a quagmire and, absurdly, the worst mistake in the history of American foreign policy. Howard Dean, more absurdly, suggested that the president of the United States might have had foreknowledge of
September 11. Most Americans now shudder at the thought that the former might have been president in this time of crisis - and that the latter still
could be."

Welcome MsNurse, and thanks for posting. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif We particularly like getting new Florida members on here. We are plotting to make the Dems in SE Florida irrelevant in 2004. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

This is like watching the leaders of two criminal gangs tear eachother apart. Wait until the dust settles, hand-cuff the one that is still breathing and have the coroner pick up the other one.
The Dimocrat party is on the way to oblivion, good riddence.
The corparate culture of that body is one of corruption, treason, cheating, and lies. Such an orginazation cannot last forever. It will go the way of it's step-daddy the Soviet Union. B-bye! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif
