(Talon News) -- As the former House minority leader, Congressman Dick Gephardt (D-MO) is used to playing hardball with politicians. He has been battling Howard Dean mercilessly for months in his quest to gain his party's nomination and on Friday he called on Dean to disclose details of tax cuts he made with Enron while serving as governor of Vermont in an attempt to link Dean with the scandal-plagued energy provider.

While campaigning in South Carolina, Gephardt urged Dean to release documents from his period as governor that cover any relationship he or his administration had with Enron.

"As governor of Vermont, Howard Dean met regularly with the corporate chiefs who benefited from the tax windfall he created for them. A chief beneficiary of his tax cuts for corporate special interests was Enron," Gephardt said.
