Israel is massing troops near Gaza in preparation for a retaliatory strike against the terrorists. Their stated objective is to dismantle Palestinian Authority Institutions, its Terror and Security Bodies and Hamas and Jihad Islami strongholds.

Cardinal law gave a deposition yesterday in the church sex scandal case. He said that he couldn't recall 47 times in answer to questions. :turquoiserolleyes: Stonewalling doesn't seem in the best interest of the church.

On a lighter note can you believe that Billy Joel is 53 years old today? But that's better than being Mike Wallace. He's 84 today! :shocked:

Sweet Sue, go easy on the guy. I got straight F's in the 7th and 8th grades. They passed me on to high school. I was a gang member...and this back in the 50s in California. It turned out fine for me thanks to some teachers who took the time.

Guy, my wife has lost 3 state elections and won 2 Borough elections. She loves it and I her :1luvu: Life is good!

Terri, you don't need any lampshade on regarding Dick Morris! I think he's a scumbag too....just an extremely saavy political scumbag!

I read a blurb on Drudge that Cardinal Law was basically passing off any knowledge of the whole scandal by saying that his "underlings" handled the sex scandal. IMO, he either handled it extremely poorly and should leave....or he DID pass it off so as not to have "dirty hands", in which case HE SHOULD LEAVE!!!!

As for Hitlery... I have very little faith in the voting public and it would not surprise me at all to have Hitlery become President. Scares the living bejesus out of me, but it wouldn't surprise me. Heck, we've still got LOADS of people who lie in bed each night trying to find a way to stamp out the Constitution and vote for Billy Jeff again. I'm sure most demoncrats would just love to shove it in the Repubs' faces and they'd all be jumping on the bandwagon.

Since I always stop at this BB first, I'm always unprepared first thing in the morning with any responses to news. That will have to come later.....this time it's just to say "HI" and, of course.....

Hi all. Hope you have an excellent weekend planned. On this note, let me share an optimistic phrase a good friend and leader of mine from Scouting always says. When asked how he is, he replies "I am excellent, but I am getting better!". You gotta love that answer. Regarding Middle East, I hope Israel kicks some butt in Gaza. I am tired of them trying to be politically correct from the "world viewpoint". Since we know that few countries in the world other than the U.S. will ever support Israel in any way, and in most cases the same applies to Jewish people in general, I say let Israel use their military superiority in the region, and finish off cities or "bunkers" where they know their enemies are hidden, once and for all. Political correctness is not only a liability in elections and politics, it is a HUGE liability (for obvious reasons) in war. We would never worry (except for when Slick was president) about what the rest of the world thinks if we retaliate for any attack on our country or people, by responding completely, totally, and without regard for what other opinionated nations might think. Good Morning All--Welcome to the Newbies! *Sounds like everyone is starting off their day "right."
I have a question. *Where in the world will Geraldo go when the church lets loose? *
I have a few suggestions . . .:boots:
The environmental piece in opinions reminded me of the wackos that are showing the mountains and streams of Alaska to influence all viewers (who don't know better) that we would be ruining Alaska too. *It all comes down to money doesn't it. *More money to clean up, more money to prevent, why don't they just get all their own money from all the HOLLOWwood actors that have so much of it and are so full of environmental correctness?
We have a lot going on here today. *My husband's 93 year old grandmother's funeral is today. *She was a precious soul, godly woman, staunch conservative and old-timey farm woman who every morning made biscuits, ham, grits, eggs, and a gazillion other things if my husband is telling it correctly (and food is something he never forgets!) *
I hope everyone has a GLORIOUS day!*

It's good to be able to check in from time to time to see that things are going really good here. The only problem from my end is that it is always in the morn and never at night so I never get into the full swing of the days fun here.

This mid-east thing, that has been going on for centuries, drives me nuts. It has been on every news channel since the day I have been born as needless to say I am rather sick of it all. Since no news is good news and all news is bad news, there has to be something else out there that Geraldo can cover. GEEZ!!!

Saber, I'm no Terri when it come to computers, but I can maybe answer your question. *After you are into the "reply to thread" post go down to the left hand corner and click on help. *At the very bottom of the page there is an ikonCode help. *Click on that and there you have all the numerous different ways to post. *Cooler than Cool huh? *I printed that Ikoncode page so I could have it in front of me at all times.:cheesy: *

lpara, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's grandmother but it sounds as though she lived a long and good life. Isn't it interesting that people who ate like that every morning of their lives could live to age 93. Now it's OJ and Special K. :turquoiserolleyes:

Janice, I know. No doubt everyone is sick of this awful problem. I'm not expecting a permanent solution but I was hoping for a lessening of tensions. Even that is not to be right now.

Saber, I think a lot of us have a claim to that title. You can't have it to yourself. There is also a thread in Suggestions where you might pick up a tip or two.

Despite my member name (which is the name of my comic strip), I'm pretty darn far right. In fact, I'm one of those dreaded "Christian Right", also a member of the vast Right Wing Conspiracy, etc.

I hope you all enjoy The Leftersons as much as I enjoy creating them. I'm sure I'll enjoy the repartee, opinions and knowledge posted here in these forums.

Saber, I almost missed your question. It's best to stick with the most common fonts that everyone has on their computer because they will only see your special font if they have it. Ariel is one, Times is one, Comic Sans Ms is really popular. I'm sure there will be some other ideas here too.

OOPS! *I made a teensy - eensy error. *My husband's grandmother was 97. *The funeral was an hour away and my husband and I were talking about how it was amazing that people in "those days" did eat anything and everything they wanted. *It has been proven now that the reason they could was because they were much more involved in manual, physical, hard labor from sun up to sun down than we are as a society today. *We sit in front of the tv *more, computers (uh-oh), :turquoiserolleyes: and have jobs and careers where we don't move as much. *I believe that. *Of course, today we have gyms, spas, etc. *I think I'll dust off my exercise bike and get those clothes that are hanging on it off.:boots: *(HA)

I'm not surprised the Church of the Nativity standoff is taking so long. What is surprising is that there are so many reports of solutions when there really isn't a solution. Right now they are saying within the next 8 hours. I hope so.

lpara! I dawdled so long over that last post I missed yours. 97 is a very long life. You are right about the work. I grew up out in the country and we were moving all the time. It was hard work to take care of all the animals and we didn't even farm.

Terri ~ I'll be going with my SIL to see her sister (my other SIL) and help her get ready for her move to Florida. She is selling her home after living in SC for over 30 years. But we plan to sight see along the way and go up into the mountains.
