Democrats Meet for New Hampshire Debate

DURHAM, N.H. — Eight Democratic presidential contenders on Tuesday strongly disputed that Howard Dean was the party's best chance for beating President Bush, or that former Vice President Al Gore's endorsement of the front-runner would seal the nomination.

"This race is not over," declared Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts as the candidates gathered in this first-in-the-nation primary state for the year's eighth and final debate. The first votes will be cast in Iowa's Jan. 19 caucuses and New Hampshire's Jan. 27 primary.

One after another, the field ganged up on Dean, who holds a double-digit lead in New Hampshire polls, and Gore in an effort to take the luster off the newly minted endorsement. They appealed to the independent streak of voters here, and suggested the endorsement smacked of old-style party machine politics.

The race IS over for Kerry (aka Lurch) and at least 4 of the others. *But as long as they want to keep beating each other up, what the Hey. *Dean will either self-destruct, or will be scuttled by A-holes from Arkansas. *Until the cold iron bars clang shut behind the Clintons, everything that happens in the Democrat Party is affected by their mere existence.

The endorsement from Algore is the Kiss of Death for Howie's chances in the South. *He is relying on the "angry about 2000" voters who feel they were robbed. *They fail to accept that a lot of those who voted for Algore were relieved he wasn't President when those towers came down and would not vote for him again.

*Besides, they haven't figured out how to get the dog paws and cold dead fingers to work on the touch-screen voter systems yet.

Quote[/b] ]"You can't say as Dr. Dean has that you're against the war but for the occupation. You're essentially keeping the war going," Kucinich said..........
Dean said Tuesday that he would support keeping U.S. troops in Iraq "over a period of a few years until Iraq really has a democracy strong enough" to defend itself from terrorists and Saddam Hussein's supporters.

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman said he was glad to hear Dean's comments because "I've heard such confusing statements from him before.".........

I think one thing that came out of this debate was the obvious lying that Dean is willing to do on the issues, no matter the impact on the country.

To accuse the President of lying about 9/11, and when confronted for facts, he states that his opinion was based on rumor; *that is not someone I want as President.

And secondly, to finally say that we shouldn't pull out of Iraq for a couple more years....well, don'tcha' think it is time to get off your high horse and stop saying that you are against the war?
