Welcome to all our members and guests. What's on your mind today?
It's going to be a quiet day here. I want to do some work with some of my vacation photos. I keep putting this off and I don't know why. I did do a collage of some photos we took in Louisiana last month. Here it is if you'd like to see. (http://home.earthlink.net/~thillhousesprint/TerriStop426.jpg)
Have a peaceful family Sunday and spend a few minutes of it here with us if you can. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Here are a few things that are in the news this morning:
Israel is saying that the raids on the West Bank have prevented terror attacks in both Israel and the US. They are saying their were plans to blow up skyscrapers in Israel.
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that 177 priests have resigned or been removed since the sex scandals broke.
The Saudis are boycotting the purchase of US products.
Newsmax is reporting that impeached ex President Clinton met with Crown Prince Abdullah. If true this would be a reversal of policy as stated by Powell last week.
The NY Post is reporting a federal probe of fund raising by Hillary.[/list]

Good morning.
I've had such a hectic week. My cousin is visiting from Long Island. My sister and I took her out of the Tucson heat up to the mountains. I froze!!
The last two days I did my 12 hour shifts taking care of a post-op baby with numerous complications, so I've been exhausted!!
I read in the AZ Republic that Senator McShame wen to a Head Start meeting and criticized President Bush for not spending enough. He's become a total left-winger. Somebody needs to smack him upside the head.
Have a great day, everyone. I'm going to be driving my cousin to her friend's place in the Phoenix area.

http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sun1.gif Good morning all,
Russian TU 95H Bombers were intercepted off the Alaska coast recently says the Airforce. Probably they were just curious about how much snow we had....uh huh...yep.
Amazing how thin the veneer of civilization is, isn't it?
Just ask the Catholics and the Israelis.
Gun show this week-end is going great guns ... http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif ... crowds streaming in with money and out with ammo and firearms ... gosh, ain't America great! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif
Contract Bridge this afternoon for me ... breaking in a new class of beginners ... heh heh heh

Good Afternoon All!
This really has been a slow, do nothing day. *Got up late and have frittered around most of the day. *Not really in the mood to do anything. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ne_nau.gif Must be the "post vacation" syndrome.
Tomorrow I get to meet the new boss. :o *
Terri ~ the collage is beautiful. *I just love being out where there is a lot of "nature". *Guess I've lived in the woods too long. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif
Aknauta ~ I was going to post this on the ANWR thread before I left on vacation but didn't have time. *So here it is now.
"The Alaska Department of Fish and Game recently issued this bulletin: *In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the ADFG is advising hikers, hunters and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field. *We advise outdoorsmen to wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. *We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear. *It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. *Outdoorsmen should recognize between black bear and grizzly bear manure. *Black bear manure is small and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. *Grizzly bear manure has little bells in it and smells like pepper." *:o http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif
Have a lovely evening all.

Hi! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif
Donnalee! I was going to drop you a note to be sure you were OK. I'm glad it's just that you've been so busy. Company will certainly do that. It's too bad you had to work while she was there.
McCain has truly gone over to the other side. I will not be surprised at all if he switches partys. I just hope that the people of Arizona realize what they are getting when they vote next time. :turquoiserolleyes:
Aknauta, that was a wierd story about the Russian planes. Maybe they believe in trust but verify. Contract Bridge! Hmmmm....I've never played Bridge.
RIM, don't you worry about that boss. She will realize what an asset you are. Glad you liked the photo. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif How are feeling? No ill effects from the fall down the stairs?
There's been a lot about the Catholic Church on all the Sunday morning shows. I'm really getting tired of hearing it. They are not tackling the problem head on. I suppose the current generation of Bishops and Cardinals will have to pass on before anything might be done. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ne_nau.gif

I love humor! *Everyone I have read today has a great sense of humor! *Been such a long and hectic week and the coming up one will be busy also, but I always enjoy coming back to the forum to read what's going on in the "real world." *
Donnalee--not to worry--probably one of the Smart Start kids smacked him--they might have even pulled out a uzi and shot him. *Smart Start has "helped" so many children.:tearhair: *Also, I have special place in my heart for nurses who take care of babies. *Our baby was in PICU for six and a half weeks--and I became close to some of those nurses who were so precious and sweet to our son. *On April 25th it was the 12th anniversary of his death. *God allowed us to have another son after him--who is obviously spoiled rotten (ha)--not really!
Terri--can't wait to see the pictures--my isp-filter has to check everything beforehand so I'll have to come back to it in a day or so. *I need to get to the humongous box I have of pictures. *I have so far made 7 scrapbooks and there must be a couple of thousand pictures to do:nopityA:--but I love to do it and the scrapbooks are now keeping the picutres safe. *
I saw McLaughlin Group on our public tv station today after church. *Most seemed to think that Karen Hughes really did leave because of family--I don't know... they said she was the one who kept the White House practically leak free. *She will be missed--hope they can get someone else who can do that! *
I think Bill Clinton http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif was probably really looking for Prince Abdullah's harem and accidentally ran into him--http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif
Aknauta--one of the heroes in our house is "Tackleberry"htt p://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teeth2.gif on Police Academy (don't know which one)--but he is a big time gun guy and loves to shoot his gun whenever he can--I thought of him when I read your post. *I will have to take my sons to a gun show sometime when there is one nearby.
Hope everyone has a great rest of the day!

lpara, I love humor too. It really helps to get us through all the grim news in today's world. I haven't done much with the photos. Good intentions and very little follow through here today. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/anon.gif

Apparently Israel and Arafat have agreed on a U.S. plan to turn over some of Arafat's terrorist friends to U.S. and British guards. Then Arafat will be allowed out of his hole again. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teeth2.gif I posted the story in War on Terror.

Hello Everyone from rainy, stormy, thundery Ontario, Canada!
Wow! What weather! We should be sending some down to you, Terri with your fires.
Haven't done much today. Went to church this morning and then home to watch the Canadian Memorial to the four soldiers held in Edmonton, Alberta where the regiment is from. It was a moving service.
I'm not sure that the Catholic bishops/cardinals/priests will ever straighten up! They've been abusing children for eons.

Terri, thank you for thinking about me. You mentioned the cost of prescription drugs in your first post today. I believe they are way overprescribed. Most people would be much better off without all the drugs they are taking, courtesy of doctors whose education is steeped in medical interventions and not enough in nutrition, though some are getting better about this.
Ipara, I am so happy you have a son to spoil. You also have an angel who will always love you and watch over you, who appreciates everything you did for him while he was still with you.
Love,
Donna

lpara, how hard to lose a little one like that. I'm so glad that you have another son. I know you treasure him. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
BTW, you were the other person on my missing list.
That Saber is going to get on the list of the missing again if she isn't careful.
Hi Aberfoyle, please send rain. The only thing, it's the wrong direction. Maybe you can send it around the world again, you think??? http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/boots.gif I posted a link to an article about one of the Canadian soldiers who we wanted to award a Bronze Star.
Donnalee, I think drugs are overprescribed too. Exercise is another thing that would prevent quite a few of them. What to do for those who have to have some drugs and can't afford them is one thing but I'm afraid we are headed for a drug problem like the medicare problem. Everyone will get it if they need it or not and we will all pay, and pay, and pay. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
There are some really nice people here. I'm so glad to know all of you. :1luvu:

Donnalee (that's my mom's name) and Terri--thank you for your nice, nice words! *Our family is very close and yes, we do thank God for each child He gave us. *They are treasures!
Prescription drugs are outrageous--someone told me they are taking Red Yeast off the shelves of Health Food Stores because it was working--and drug companies are complaining that their drugs weren't being used-A Racket! *When I worked as a school secretary there were a lot of kids on Ritalin:elefant:--hope that is not so today. *
Hope more and more stories come out about Hillary--and the dumb New Yorkers who voted for her will WAKE UP! *Maybe they can "impeach" her!

Oh, Ipara! For some reason (known only to computers and websites!!!), I missed reading your earlier post about losing a wee boy! I saw these posts above mentioning it so went back and read yours. I'm so sorry and I'm happy you do have another gift from God in your other son. It's so difficult to lose a family member. "They" say that losing a child and losing a spouse are so similar.
Well, Toronto lost tonight against the New York Islanders! I'm so sad about this!http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mr_yuk.gif

lpara, there are even more kids on Ritalin today. The schools push it on parents and it's a sad situation. I'd love to think people will wake up about Hillary but.....
Aberfoyle, I can relate. The Avs/Kings are 3/3 now. We do have home ice for the last game but I dunno. Hoping for the best.
We had such a fun thread today. Y'all come back tomorrow and we'll do it again. Maybe we'll even get the missing ones in here then. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif
