I heard something yesterday on local talh radio about a high school that banned a Christian sports club because one mindless little twit said in was against their belief.

I can't find anything in the local news about it but I emailed the radio station to see if I can get the whole story!

This stuff is getting rediculous!

People need to quit being complacent puppies and stand up for their rights!

How can JUST ONE PERSON stop over a dozen people?

WHY does that SINGLE Sorry Obstinate Buzzard think that what people meet and talk about is ANY of their business?

Where is FREEDOM OF SPEECH? FREEDOM OF RELIGION? and FREEDOM TO WALK AWAY and REFUSE to participate in those things that you deem offensive?

AMERICA http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/poke.gif QUIT BEING WIMPS!

C'mon, Guy, you know the standard party line. These decisions are made to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. What they fail to add is the tyranny of the minority will eventually come back and bite them in the butt. If the majority of people spoke up and acted then these little PC thought police thugs would hopefully wither away.

What we need is some grassroots campaigns. I think most "regular" Americans are looking for a cause to be a part of. Just like the freaky Greenpeace activists who hold their signs wishing that others would come out and support them, I think we need to let the MAJORITY of people know that their voice can be heard at the local level.

NION gets press coverage for 25 people, versus thousands of patriotic ralliers. We know the media is stacked against us. But the REALITY for those involved recognize that appealing to the small group isn't going to appease the larger group.

I agree with JAGWAP. We're being too quiet, and too complacent. However, the crux is that, unlike the NION and Greenpeace Groups, we're also productive and actually have important things to do, instead of going back to the dorm room and getting drunk afterwards.

If this was a local school, would I take a day off of work? Take a day of valuable vacation time? Yes, I probably would. But any organizer of an event like this would be portrayed as an "arm" of the Christian Coalation, which (sometimes rightfully so) doesn't garner public sympathy, or simply labeled a "group of fringe religious wacko knuckleheads". Simply for standing for what we believe.

The downside to THAT is that if we do nothing, then they win.

I may not agree with what other people think, say or do. And because there's no official article, I don't have the whole story. History would suggest that they claim the Bible as an inspiration, which likely offended some sinner who revels in his sin. But I'm all for a group of kids wants to have their Christian sports group. Or Jewish sports group. Or Muslim sports group. Or athiest sports group. However, it seems that the only group that doesn't seem to "fit the rules" consistently in "publick skewls" are those rotten oppressive Christian kids.

Freedom of Speech, and Freedom of Religion are dying terms. Our beliefs and values will be mere symbolism if people don't stand up to keep the meaning behind it.
