The County of Los Angeles actively promotes and is committed to ensure a work environment that is free from any discriminatory influence be it actual or perceived. As such, it is the County's expectation that our manufacturers, suppliers and contractors make a concentrated effort to ensure that any equipment, supplies or services that are provided to County departments do not possess or portray an image that may be construed as offensive or defamatory in nature.

One such recent example included the manufacturer's labeling of equipment where the words "Master/Slave" appeared to identify the primary and secondary sources. Based on the cultural diversity and sensitivity of Los Angeles County, this is not an acceptable identification label.

We would request that each manufacturer, supplier and contractor review, identify and remove/change any identification or labeling of equipment or components thereof that could be interpreted as discriminatory or offensive in nature before such equipment is sold or otherwise provided to any County department.

I suggest they code computers by the names of the Teletubbies. Tinky Winky would be the server, while the cliet computers would be referred to as Laa Laa's. This is terminology that this group of idiots would understand! But I'm sure SOMEONE would find offense in that, too.

Just make sure you don't eject your disc out of the drive while it's spinning. Windows might tell the user they were "Denied Access" or "Incompatible", and that would merit a discrimination suit. Look out Los Angeles!

Only in California. What a weird bunch of people. I sell parts to a customer that makes Master, Slave, and Slave Driver circuit board assemblies for commercial sound systems. Their biggest customers are California based musicians. These types of products go into ALOT of things. So, no computers, no speakers, no sound systems; no medical equipment, no avionics, no communications systems, no measuring devices, no power transfer boxes (see telephone poles) etc. for the City of Los Angeles.

The auto industry makes Master Cylinders and Slave Cylinders. So, I guess Los Angeles won't be buying any cars.

The plumbing industry refers to male and female threads and also uses the word "nipple". OMG! So, I guess Los Angeles won't be paying for any plumbing services.

What's next for these whacked out morons?
