Kerry Slams Dean as Draft Dodger
NewsMax
November 24, 2003
In a press release issued by Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign on Sunday, former Sen. Max Cleland slammed front-runner Howard Dean for dodging the draft during Vietnam - the war that turned Cleland into a triple amputee.
"At a time when young Americans are being killed and wounded by President Bush’s failed policy in Iraq, we don’t need another governor who ran from going to Vietnam and leading our country," Cleland complained.
"We cannot afford to have a leader who weaseled out of going to Vietnam on a medical deferment for a bad back and wound up on the ski slopes of Aspen like Howard Dean," the Georgia Democrat railed.

Don't ya just love it when Dems slap each other around between jabs at "W". I, for one, am getting kind of tired of the assumption that service and injury in Vietnam is a pre-requisite for being President. They loved Clinton's defiance of the Military, but chide Bush for not getting killed in Vietnam.
It was Libs like Kerry, who has' Vietnam Vet' tattooed on his forehead, just incase somebody might not have heard about it yet, brags of his service but came home bitching afterward. It was Liberal policies and a Liberal Press that lost that war(Korea too). And they're trying to do it to this one too just to bruise President Bush.

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flagsalute.gif *I am a proud veteran of the United States Army with combat service in Viet-Nam. *That places me in a unique humble group of people who paid their generations share of "freedom's cost" because "freedom is not free." *Some paid with their lives, others *with wounds that maimed or crippled them for life, still others will live out their lives in VA facilities because their wounds were too great to allow them to care for themselves while the rest of us came home with scars and vivid memories that will haunt us for the rest of our lives. *All are honored men and women who answered the call to duty to maintain freedom, safety and security of the greatest nation on God's green Earth. *Many more would have answered that call had not medical, family or other valid reasons precluded them from serving. *They need not feel bad because they didn't don the uniform for valid reasons. *Instead, their support of our fighting women and men is a badge of honor for them and vets like me place them in high regard because of their support. *As a football team needs a cheerleading squad, so does our military need its cheerleaders! *From the Revolutionary War to today's "war on terrorism" (the Iraqi War being the central contact point of the effort), honorable people served, and are serving, with honor, integrity and a sense of duty to God and country. *
Those who use http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/noway.gif their military service as a credential to confirm their loyalty to this country, as an affirmation of their patriotism and/or as a discussion point to make a fellow American appear dishonoable because they didn't serve http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsdown.gif dishonors those of us, living or dead, who serve, or served, proudly. *Military service, in war or in peace, is not a credential for election to public office; it is an honored tradition and duty that patriots perform to "keep America free" and to honor God and country. *These folks know that "freedom is not free" and they gladly accept their portion of that cost to keep this country free. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usa.gif
http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fire.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif The liberal Democrats who are abusing their military service for political gain add insult to injury because they also supported their party's last President--Impeached President Bill Clinton--who became the epitomy of dishonesty, sexual misconduct and a compromiser of this country's national security by his liberal thinking. *He went out in disgrace yet his party still croons over him while they "bash Bush" for doing things that are "strengthening America and the rest of the world." *Their http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banghead.gif bashing only proves their unworthiness for public service. It should also be noted that their liberal agenda is so important to them that they are compromising values, beliefs and even our country's national security to forward that cause...truly a http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tombstone.gif
http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bible.gif *Now we must pray for those whose liberal ideas will destroy America that God will shower them with His Spirit of Truth and give them opportunity to "be free!" * GOD BLESS AMERICA. *GOD GRANT OUR PRESIDENT CONTINUED WISDOM, STRENGTH, STAMINA AND POWER AS HE LEADS OUR COUNTRY TO VICTORY OVER TERRORISM AND A STABLE FUTURE FULL OF PROSPERITY. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/unclesam.gif

Markvh; *I was still in Jr. High when Truman decided to get involved in Korea. *His pathetic efforts to make the U.stinkin N. work to keep the world Communists at bay was a failure from the get-go. *Most of the Security Council was Communist and evrything MacCarthur planned was shared with Russia and others that wanted Korea to be Communist.
* * We could have solved a lot of current problems if Truman had told the U.stikin N. to take a leap and allowed Mac to go right on in to China, and even Russia if need be. *Truman's bold containment plan turned out to be just another application of the appeasement policies of Woodrow Wilson.
* * *We got involved in Nam under the same stupid policies and took over from the Frogs after they failed. *Again, the stupid policy of letting the Security Council in on all our plans led to a sickening stalemate that cost American lives and eventually led to the Commies taking over. *Asia was fertile ground for the Commies because Roosevelt made promises to the Frogs and Limeys to restore their colonial empires after *WW/II and the locals hated us even though we kicked out the Nips, because we brought back the hated Imperialists to subjugate them once again. *
* * * When Bush Sr. allied himself with the U.stinkin N. to fight the Gulf War I feared the same outcome. *We could have had Sadman Hoosinsane at that point, but Sr. didn't want to piss off the Europeans and stopped short. *God Bless Jr., he knows enough to get the job done and tell the Europeans to get lost while he wins the war. *The media plays it's own part with the fellow travelers, but Americans now have other new outlets and don't have to depend on the Looney Left for information. * *Tom Todd

It is one thing to have not served in the military, but it is another to have dodged the draft. President Bush didn't dodge the draft, he served in the National Guard, like my father did during the Viet-Nam war. Both of whom did not serve oversees. Dean, on the other hand is a draft dodger plain and simple as was Clinton. Neither in my opinion have a right to command our mlitary. I served in the Airforce under Clinton, and it pissed me off every time I saw someone going into harms way from a Clinton order. I wouldn't care at all if Dean had a "real" back problem that prevented him from being drafted. Let him lead in that case, but someone who "faked" an injury and then went skiing has no place leading our military.

Points of interest here.
Korea: Truman's undersecrtary of State, the same clod that WROTE the UN Charter, was a commie spy.
Veit Nam; it was micro-managed to death by the meglo-maniac, LBJ and a man that was paid $1,000,000 a year by GM to leave, MacNamarra.
The Clinton's, both of them were courted by the KGB in college.
Connect the dots, big time Democrats, failed foriegn policy, bloated do-nothing soicial programs, gun control, self-serving corruption, and commie agents. It has been that way since FDR, and in the nineties it became a party wide epidemic. I spotted this when I was fourteen and the only sources of news were the big networks, and the New York Times!
I thought I was just being paranoid, and that it was just part of the game of politics, years later I saw there was a BIG difference between the parties when Reagan took over as commander-in-chief. You see on Carter's Watch you had to get permission from the joint chiefs to load your weapon. This was policy, you had to make a call and hope whoever was on the other end had a pair. Reagan said fire if fired upon.
From there to the fall of the Berlin Wall was twelve years, and it was Ronald Reagan, with no help what-so-ever from the Democrats, that lead the way. The same S. O. B's that were rendering aid and comfort to the enemies of freedom were the same ones preaching unilateral civilian dis-armorment and gouging us at tax time.
Now is the time to stand together, the terrorist, the communist, and the dictator, would love to see a Democrat in the White House, a Democrat Speaker of the house, and Democrat Senate Majority Leader. Let's ruin their day. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif
