Republican Rossi launches bid for governor!

Vowing to make Washington a more business-friendly place, state Senator Dino Rossi of Sammamish yesterday launched his bid to become the state's first Republican governor in two decades.

"This state is on the wrong track, and the reason is a failure of leadership," Rossi told a crowd of 400 supporters at the Village Theatre in Issaquah, in the heart of the legislative district he has represented since 1996.

It became obvious that jobs and the economy will be key campaign themes for Rossi. In the theater lobby, Rossi's campaign staff put up a poster-size version of the latest nationwide unemployment rankings, which show Washington with the second-highest jobless rate in the nation.

Rossi said the Democrats who have held the governor's office since 1984 are largely to blame for the state's economic woes and the recent surge of job losses.

"For 20 years our state has pursued policies that destroy jobs and opportunities for families and communities," Rossi said, later adding, "We have got to quit bludgeoning our businesses until they say, as Boeing said, 'We're out of here'."

"Amen," responded someone in the crowd.

I think most of you can understand the excitement this is generating here in the land of the extremely liberal. People in the party have been working on Dino for months to get him to run. I would say the effort was a success. My next move is to see if I can work on his campaign in ANY way, shape or form.

We MUST have a Republican governor.

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif NWGOPMOM - IF YOU CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN IT WOULD BE A BIG COUP FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. *TO TAKE THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AWAY FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN ONE OF THEIR GREATEST BASTIONS WOULD BE A BIG STEP IN DEFEATING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S LIBERAL APPROACH TO GOVERNMENT. *ALSO, WHILE YOU ARE AT IT SEE IF YOU CAN MAKE SENATOR PATTY MURRAY GO AWAY. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS ENDEAVOR.

I'd love to see it.

Then if we can get Oregon, the world might come to a happy, complete end.

Thanks Allen and Furty! I'm really looking forward to working on this campaign. I have never been involved in politics in this manner but I am so determined to get this man elected that I would be honored to work for him as a volunteer.

Ok Allen. I'll do my best to try to "dust" Patty Murray also. We had high hopes for Nethercutt but he seems to have a little trouble with not being selective about what he says.
We're hoping that he can see the light and take his foot out of his mouth in time to win the election against her. Time will tell.

Ruthie, I'm so glad you're getting involved in local and state politics. It's really fun (think I'll qualifiy that statement) and you get a good look at how campaigns run.

It can also be very frustrating (What takes so long??) and tiring, but that's all part of the whole that makes it so interesting. Good luck and "GO DINO!!"

p.s. If you could get rid of that ignoramus, Osama Mama, you'd be doing the whole country a favor!! There! I just felt my blood pressure go up about 20 points! Aarrrrrgggghhhhh!
