Exit polls released Monday help explain Republican gubernatorial victories last week, finding that Haley Barbour overcame high black turnout with overwhelming support from whites in Mississippi while Ernie Fletcher capitalized on ill will toward the scandal-plagued Democratic incumbent in Kentucky.

Apparently the Rove faction is wrong: Pandering to racial groups is not the key to election victories.

On a more serious note, a GOP win will come for us the same way we won in '94. We need a positive product to sell. Bashing the compition is bad form, let the other side do it. We need something simple and easy to understand to sell the American People, and it needs to be placed in positive terms.
1. Winning the war on Terror, we can do it, period.
2. Tort reform. Long overdue.
3. Tax reform, like a flat tax. Take the soicial enginerring out of the Treasury.
4 Socialist Security reform. The system is a bad deal, period, Privatize.
If anyone has any more good ideas, sound off. This is the place to do it.
