WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), one of nine candidates running for the 2004 Democrat nomination for president, fired his campaign manager on Monday after experiencing a noticable drop in the polls in recent weeks.
"I have decided to make a change in the top of my campaign leadership," Kerry wrote in an e-mail.
Kerry said in a statement he would be making a change by replacing his campaign manager, Jim Jordan, with fellow Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy's chief of staff, Mary Beth Cahill.
Jordan has been assigned to serve as a senior political strategist in "this critical phase of the campaign." However, Jordan has not yet decided whether he will accept or decline the much less important position in the Kerry campaign.
