Hi All. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif Coffee's on! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cup.gif It feels like I was gone for a week. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif We all had a great time at the conference but it's good to be home and good to have more time for the forum.

Later today, I will try to post more about the conference and give you a good rundown of our activities. It was really worthwhile. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/compute.gif

The attack on our helicopter yesterday was very sad. It's too bad we don't have some kind of anti-rocket system on the helicopters. *Is that possible? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Last night when I went through my home airport, there was a large party welcoming home a soldier from Iraq. They had lots of balloons and flags and they were really celebrating. It's so nice to see that. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif

I'm really out of touch with the news. There was all sorts of crazy stuff going on. What's with that weird woman who crashed her car into the building where the president was speaking? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif

OK, since I'm out of the loop and you're not, how about if you talk about the stories you think are most interesting and I'll get caught up that way. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif *Keep your flag flying high! *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif Remember September 11, 2001 and 3,000 dead at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.

Please remember to pray for our President and for our servicemen and women who are still in harm's way.

Good morning, http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif , I'm back!

Well, Florida was great, though it wasn't restful. But I won't bore you with the details.

Now I'm in Jersey, and took a bus to Manhattan. And now that I've conquered Manhattan and Times Square (should I say, "survived"?), it's been pretty interesting thus far. Saw the empire state building, ate a street vendor dog (and kept it down!) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yelclap.gif and saw a bunch of really neat places. I didn't get to the largest gothic church, but did run across a really cool Catholic one. Unfortunately, I got there too late to check out the service. They will rue the day they closed the doors on the future pope.

My ankles are a little sore. No doubt, I walked quite a few miles. But that's okay - its back to work with me anyway. I have meetings all week, and likely will not be spending too much time here this week, so you all get yet another AZWW-free week to discuss the topics.

Terri, don't feel bad. I'm out of the loop newswise too. The last I saw, the fire in California was pretty bad.

And that lawyer getting shot up - that was pretty gruesome, and I can't believe they replayed the shooting. That was really bad taste for the networks. What's next? A movie review for "Faces of Death"?

Well, I have internet service until noon tomorrow, so I'll check in with y'all then. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hey, how was the conference, anyway?

I don't think so with modern technology - an unguided rocket is pretty much a large, explosive bullet and primitive as can be.

It's sort of hard to heavily armor something that flies since weight is a big issue.

OK, since I'm out of the loop and you're not, how about if you talk about the stories you think are most interesting and I'll get caught up that way.

Here I'm mostly caught up in local issues for the next couple days. Our local elections are Tuesday and I'm trying to better educate myself with the extremely limited information that they provide.

I don't mind punching straight Republican if I know who I'm punching for - but I still have to know.

Don't give them any ideas. Those liberal types have already invaded the other forums, after all.

Quote[/b] ]It's too bad we don't have some kind of anti-rocket system on the helicopters. Is that possible?

Generally, it's called "Do unto others before they do unto you," which is the way wars are supposed to be fought. Now, the liberals criticize the President if our soldiers fight, and criticize him if they die because they didn't fight.

Quote[/b] ]I'm really out of touch with the news.

Me, too. I've been running all over the place this weekend, thanks to my "social coordinator" (wife), so I've only gotten little snippets here and there. I'm glad the weekend is over, so I can get back to work and relax! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif

Quote[/b] ]Flakes of the Day: "We're going to win California and New York and some of the coastal states. The key to the election is these Midwest states. Did he see how poorly his fellow robot AlGore2000 did against Bush in the Midwest last time? And Gore was the veep for a "wildly popular" prez, while Bush was "just" the Governor of Texas. Now, with Bush sitting as a truly popular President, at least for Midwesterners, the Midwest is a lock for Bush. Besides, I heard somewhere that if Gephardt ran a statewide election in Missouri, he wouldn't win. That doesn't speak highly of his chances in the rest of the Midwest.

Quote[/b] ]Good morning, http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif , I'm back!

Welcome back, AZWW! At least for a little bit! Don't forget to check out the state page to find out more about our redistricting fiasco (you just thought we had that behind us...). And, we could use your help with a couple of libs, too. I held 'em for a while, and RF http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif has really been going at 'em http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif too, but these are persistent little buggers...

Kudos, incidentally, RF! You get the Golden http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggun.gif Award!

Well, it's off to the rest of the forum for now (in and around work). Everybody (hello, are you out there?) have a great day! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

Good Morning All: Welcome home, Terri. As low as the Chinooks fly, it would be impossible to protect them from the shoulder fired missile - from the time it is fired until it hits the target would be just a split second - no time for any system to defend itself.

In other news the Episcopalians installed their queer bishop. A large number have said they will split from the church. The new bishop said he would only step down if GOD told him to do so - well knowing that hes not apt to get a special delivery message from GOD. Had I been a member of the church, my group would have immediately split or I would have left on my own.

CBS has received so much flak over the Reagan miniseries that they have edited it 18 times and are now trying to decide whether to shelve it or have it shown on Showtime, which is a CBS affiate. They are also saying that the show is produced by two gay activists.

Its bright and sunny here in NC and due to hit 83 degrees this afternoon. Probably should bottle some of it for use this winter. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Have a great day and I'll see you later.

Hi http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif ns! Good to see you this bright/gloomy sunshiny/cloudy day! (You just make your choice.)
Still have my cold but feel better. I've been up since 4:30, trying to use the scanner on my MOAMT. Finally sent a couple of scanned pages of pix for the newsletter. At least I hope they went where I wanted them to go. Now I have to tackle the fax part and that looks a little more involved. The hardest part is finding the instructions. I'm still in the manual in hand mode and they're in the "type -out -the -url- and -print- out- your- manual" mode

Just finishing my breakfast of hard-cooked eggs, bacon and coffee. Did pretty fair on the diet this week so I'm happy about that. And the Packers beat the Vikings and I'm happy about that, too. It's amazing how well Brett Favre plays with broken body parts. I have to believe that one of the secrets to his success is his total focus on the ball. I've watched him thrown to the ground with his rear-end in the air and his eyes still never leave the ball until the play is over. Amazing!

Quote[/b] ]They will rue the day they closed the doors on the future pope.

Quote[/b] ]OK, since I'm out of the loop and you're not, how about if you talk about the stories you think are most interesting and I'll get caught up that way

May I follow your coattails through that loop? I heard that the colonials dumped a bunch of tea in Boston Harbor. That's how caught up I am.

That's all I can do is a-chooOO and Honnnnnnkk! Did manage to get in the forum to read for awhile last night, though. Certainly some interesting things in Current Events.

I can hardly wait to see pix from the conference. I think Miss pRIM had better get herself to a library and check in with us in case she's ready to go on trial or something. Or maybe she doesn't http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/1luvu.gif us anymore! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bawl.gif I promise I won't give you any of my germs, if you check in. :no talk:

My ISP is acting up so I don't know if I can get this posted or not. Sure hope so. I can't even get the emoticons to come up, so there I am.

Better sign off because I think I'm back on line right now (for a few minutes anyhow.

See ya later.

Good morning, All
Happy Monday and welcome back Terri !

Gephardt gives a whole new meaning to "wishful thinking" but you know, hope springs eternal and it gives the boy something to do. Who knows? Maybe he'll learn something about making bold statements he can't back up...ya think?

Dear New Episcopal Bishop.....This is God. I don't approve of your lifestyle and you're preaching blasphemy and heretical misguided doctrine. You're fired! By the way, I had St. Peter scratch your name off the book. Okay? Buh bye. (This has been a test of the Emergency Salvation Network. Had this been a real emergency, your soul woul be completely lost already, Bishop.)

I agree the showing of that nutcase shooting the lawyer (no jokes offered at this time out of common courtesy for the legal profession) was a bad decision on the part of the networks. It sends a bad message all the way around.

Quick! Now is the time to get your bumper sticker reminding everyone - as a public service, of course - that "Friends don't let friends vote Democrat."

Okay, it's Monday and there has to be something at work I have to do....now let's seeeeeeee.... I must be on my way but until we meet again, please know that God is in control and He watches over us 24/7/365. "All things work to the good for those who love the Lord." Be blessed and make the most of your day! God's peace to one and all.

Hiya folks! Not much happening out here, just lots of wind and cold. Spent the day taking down Halloween stuff.

Hubs fell victim to the Christmas rush. The mail room on base asked some units to send one soldier per unit to help out...hubby got stuck with it after the originally chosen soldier ended up being pregnant (it was a single soldier, and a long and sordid gosippy story)...so, she can't lift heavy boxes or stand on her feet for hours on end...hense, they needed a new "chosen one". But hubby only gets stuck with it for 2 weeks, because then they are getting a new soldier right out of AIT, and he/she will get stuck with it. I can tell already that I don't this "new job" it's 6 PM, and he isn't home, in fact, he hasn't even left work yet! Oh, my...it just occured to me that he also won't be coming home early on Thursdays. The only reprieve he gets is on Friday, because he's doing some board thingy.

Oh well, got to go, need to start dinner. I was only planning on changing my avatar...figured taht if I was taking Halloween down in my home, I'd better take it down on my net homes too!

DIANA OLICK of CNBC was reporting on a story at the Capital...when she stopped reporting and said that they had heard several loud "bangs." she said they are not sure what they were, but her camera man ran downstairs and said that they had a man "held" outside the building!

She reiterated that they did NOT officially know what was going on, but that they did have a man "held" outside.

Lets hope its nothing.

Hello everybody... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

I haven't checked in for quite a few days...been busy around here!

Very sad about the helicopter yesterday. I just can't even imagine how those family members must feel, those soldiers were coming home! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bawl.gif They will be in my prayers as well as the injured. I guess they will be flying them at night now....wish they had done that before. Those things are so large and slow....they are a huge target!

I was very angry about a poll that I heard about on the news this morning on the radio....it said that a poll showed that the majority of Americans polled felt that the economy is more important than terrorism, and that they don't approve of how Bush is handling the Iraq situation!
Of course, who knows who was polled in this poll, but it still angers me. What do these people think? If we back down and don't keep this battle in Iraq and with terrorists in the Middle East....they will be in our back yard AGAIN, and our economy will take a dive, AGAIN!
I'm amazed at the shortsightedness of some people.... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif

Charie: I have to admit, that was a great game that Farve had last night. I haven't seen him play that well in a long time, and with a broken thumb to boot. He actually made some tackles ... wish I would have had him as my QB on Fantasy games! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif

I was shocked and sickened when I saw that video of that lawyer being shot by that guy! I can't even imagine.....

I knew that when the report came out about the Chinook going down that the Libs would be ranting and raving and carrying on about this being another Viet Nam....handwriting was on the wall.

As for the Episcopalian gay priest... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif I would run as fast as I could from that affiliation. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/boots.gif

We had snow here this morning....it's melting now though. A couple of mornings ago, it was 9 degrees! BRRRRR I guess winter has hit southern Idaho...

Well, I need to get some things done....
Have a great day everybody!

Good day all.

Right you are Der Alte there is so little reaction time that even counter measures against a heat seeking missile wouldn’t work well close to the ground.

I can’t believe y’all are so sensitive. *A simple lawyer shooting is nothing. *A few years ago a station in San Antonio went to a scene where a guy was holing a gun to his head just in time for the evening news. *I can’t remember if he spoke his peace or not but he did go out on live TV. I want all you hard core conservatives to look at this quote - it shows that a Dimocrat can actually make a smart decision.

Good Afternoon. Busy, busy today. We started picking the *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/orange.gif s this morning, albeit they are practically worthless. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif *Tomorrow we start planting new trees where old ones have died and been pulled out (500 tomorrow, 500 Thursday). Welcome to our new members, and I hope everyone had a decent weekend.

Quote[/b] ]BOB GRAHAM ANNOUNCED THAT HE WILL NOT SEEK RE-ELECTION TO THE U.S. SENATE Thanks Matt. I needed some good news after all the bad to tragic news lately. I hope he put it in writing. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *My thoughts are with the families of all the Americans in the helicopter that died. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif *This weekend, even all of my sports http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/football.gif *teams (Canes, Dolphins, Bucs) lost across the board. All of them were favored to win. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif *Starting this week, the Troop meetings for the new troop are on Wednesdays, so that will be our new busy evening (instead of Monday).

We are just making our plans for Christmas break. Mitchell & David are going to a local scout Winter Camp from the 26th to the 31st, and Meryl and I are planning on taking Jakob to some liberal places in Orlando for a day or two. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif

http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif Hi All! It's cold here today. It was kind of a shock to go out in 38 degree temps after having such a warm few days in DC.

That's great news about Bob Graham. I can't wait to hear from our Floridians on the chances of getting a Republican in that seat. Who will most likely be the candidates now?

Thanks for the info on the countermeasures for helcopters. There was some info in the Talon News story on this today that spoke to some limited defenses. Did you see that in War on Terror?

I worry about the predominance of nuts running loose in society. They are a danger to all elected representatives and it seems as though there are a lot of them surfacing just now. I hope the Secret Service is working very hard. The Democrats have raised the level of hate to very dangerous levels.

BBL I'm going back a page to read the article on American Christian / Christian American

Did your son set him straight? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

My grandson had an interesting conversation with his history teacher while I was away. It seems the teacher is an Al Gore supporter. So Jeff told him that he voted for Buchanan in the last school mock election.

We may have gotten Jeff a hair too far to the right but that's better than Al Gore. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/doh.gif

Matt,

It is an inspiration to read your posts talking about mentoring the children.

Now just think, if the guy's heart was right, how many people he could help in the time he wastes in here! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif

My http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twocents.gif for the day.

Stormy, I finally got some info up on the conference. There will be more.

Bobby will do an official report on it that will remain on the site permanently. He has a lot more pictures than I do.

Allan, you're right, we'll nudge him over just a bit more. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
