Dear GOPUSA Forum Members.
This Forum has gone from the times of supporting all Republcians to a time of attacking Republicans and a time of stating that certain Republicans are no good. It saddens me that we are attacking our own party. I am its one think to disagree with what Gob Bush of Pres Bush does of says in a speech of in policy. But its another think to support McClintock just because he is a good Republican and not support Arnold because he is someone liberal in some of his ideas and statements, what even happen to the Regan Demacrates and the party that Liclon built. I thought this party and forum was alot fighting the left and not fighting each other and fighting Republcians.
Those of you that seen to be hell bent on Arnold being a bad person and a liberal dont even live in California of have never lived in California, its sad. I could say that I dont like what Jeb Bush has done on some issues and I dont but I dont call him a bad Republican, because frankly I dont know the socialital make up of the state of Flordia.
The state of California is liberal however a big part of the state lends to the right which allows a moderate like Arnold to win office and some like McClintock to lose. Six months ago this forum would have been happy for the left coast to get a new start today it is not.
Bobby and Terri and All it has been fun, however do to the blanten unsupportiveness for Republicans that are not hard line Republicans and those that are Pro Life I am leaving thiios forum I made be back I may not be back.
I joined this forum in June of 2002 to share my mind and ideas and life with fellow Republcians which is was, I can't in good cause stay with a forum that is become a breeding ground of extreme right wing conspiracy ideas and most of all un-support for fellow Republicans. Therefore with that I will monitor the forum and may come back or may not
God Bless
God Bless America
GWB 2004 (thats if you all still support him or maybe he is not a republican anyone either.)

Mark, GOPUSA has always been a conservative Republican forum and it still is. I'm sorry if you've just realized that.
That doesn't mean that we don't have moderate Republicans here, some Libertarians, and even a few liberals.
Everyone here is entitled to support whomever they like in any election and they are not only entitled to say so, we encourage it.

I've seen no one unhappy for California. I have seen some people who are worried that California has made the wrong decision once again and on this forum they may certainly say so just as you have said how pleased you are about Arnold.

Your decision. We will still be predominately conservative and predominately pro-life, so keep that in mind.
Should you decide to come back there are a couple of things we need to discuss so please do me the courtesy of sending me a PM before you post again.

Awww, C'mon Brisk! What Republican ideas does Arnold hold? I've heard that he's a "fiscal conservative", but he's talking about spending more money for education in a state that has an avalanche of defecit. When you ignore the "red" in your checkbook, I wouldn't call you a "fiscal conservative". The rest of his platform was COMPLETELY liberal.
One more note on that. If Arnold fails, his failure gives Republcians a HUGE black eye. Those of us who don't really think he is someone who represents the Republican point of view (like GUN control, like LEGAL drivers licenses, like LESS taxes - you know, the traditional issues of the GOP) are worried that if Arnold fails, it will reflect on conservative incumbants nationwide.
If Arnold fails, it will cause more trouble than its worth. I think we should have let the liberals run it in the ground like Davis was doing. It would be a good example. But Davis is gone, and guess what - it's the REPUBLICAN problem that we've inherited.

I lived there for 20 years and only moved a year ago.
I signed a petition to get Davis recalled. Personally.

So basically, you'd do the same thing if an extreme Right Winger candidate ran under the Republican party - you would rather not discuss the ramifications of that?
I hope you stay to discuss the issues. We don't have to agree, but it's fun to explore and discuss.

AZ, I couldn't agree more! Your points are valid and well conveyed. In my opinion, Arnold is just another Kennedy.

I am very well, thank you for asking. I have been extremely busy gearing up for my run for office.
Going back to the topic, it is a shame that Mr.McClintock was not elected. However, for his own political future, it was a blessing for him. I do not feel a reversal of California's failing management policies can be obtained within any single governor's term. For every year that state has had to endure a failing management policy, it will take five years to undo it's damage. The state has been on the federal shoring since '88, so you're talking about seventy-five years of strict policy reversals just to get it's government within self suffiency. Any good manager that attempts to correct the real issues in California cannot withstand the political ramifications brought on by that state's citizen's attitudes. It is a welfare state, bred from the ideology of Socialism. With it's current attitudes, no amount of Conservatism will ever bring California to it's former glory of fifty years ago. Any good manager that attempts to task it will suffer greatly.
Arnold is clearly the best California can do...a Liberal dressed in Republican clothing.

Couldn't have said it better myself. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
We all know that "stuff" runs down hill ~ and California is way to overloaded with "stuff" to make a comeback. It surely won't be done with a RINO in charge. Arnold may think he's a fiscal conservative, but he's in for a rude awakening when he starts dealing with the hard core dems in CA. They know only one type of government ~ tax and spend. This is going to be really interesting. He'll think that "pumping iron" is a breeze compared to dealing with http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif 's.
