View Full Version : The Crucifying of Limbaugh

Haul out the cross, hammer and nails. Limbaugh is going up there come he]] or high water. But maybe he can take some of those pain pills that his housekeeper said he pops. Why is it that the standard newspapers don't believe a thing that the Enquirer says unless they print a story about a conservative? But no, they are fair and balanced and always listen to all sides of an argument.

I think that Rush let his desire to be in some way associated with the sports world to overcome his good sense. He's fair game for any remark he makes that even mentions "African-American" or "gay". It really didn't take long. I've been waiting for the hammer to fall ever since I heard he was on ESPN. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif

Charlie Sykes is having a field day with this. He's been talking about it and taking calls for about an hour and a half now. He's really stressing the fact that "presidential candidates" Clark and Dean called for Rush's firing. What?? We're muzzling free speech in this country now? After all the yelling about the Patriot Act now presidential candidates are trying to shut down actual speech in this country?? I tell you, this country is descending to a level that is based on inconsequentialities !! The media can't seem to see the big picture anymore. It's not about getting out the truth, it's about getting at the conservatives and Christians.

Now he's being investigated for "buying and using too many pain-killers." Man, they came up with all of this as a one-two punch, didn't they? Was Rush planning to run for office or is the fact that he's a well-known conservative enough to rate all this attention from the left?

Charie,

* * I agree with you. Rush was saying things that lots of Americans think, but of course since he said them on TV, he's hosed. I feel that the only thing conservatives can do is vote the way we think, then maybe the liberals will see the effect of how we think. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag17.gif *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/usflag22.gif

Hi Martha, welcome to the forum!

Charie, I agree with most of what you said.

I just want to clarify something. The NY Post is pretty conservative but I guess no newspaper will pass up a chance to print a controversial subject whether there is any proof or not.

No one could setup Rush's own comments but I would bet any amount of money that this drug story has been on hold waiting for an opportune moment.

You got it. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif They can traipse through the Betty Ford Clinic in droves and get pats on the back as they go, as long as they aren't conservative. Fifty million people can be addicted to pain killers, many of which are senior citizens, and it gets a big "ho hum" ~ but let a conservavtive in a pominent position be accused of this and they are ready to hang him from the hightest tree they can find.

This isn't about what Rush said, or how many pain pills he takes. It's about the filthy low life democrats trying to assassinate every conservative they can. If they can't find something they'll make something up and let the dogs in the media chew it over until it becomes a fact. I wouldn't be a politician for any amount of money. Now it isn't even safe to be a sportscaster. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif First Amendment http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tombstone.gif ~ you have been replaced by PC and wimps. The next thing will be to cut out your tongue.

I figured he would not be there long at ESPN, come on they knew who he was. I am not suprised by the crucifying by the media, it's not the first time and they hate the right side of the aisle. I am a little shocked about the drug allegation though. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

mp, I thought the same thing about Rush and ESPN.

And like you, I'm not so sure about this drug issue. I'm waiting for him to explain it and the statement on his site is not an explanation.

Has he denied it? All I've heard is he was unaware of an investigation and will cooperate. Looks like he could go down if it's true. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Not yet.

The actual story seems to have some holes and wierd things in it.

Guess we just have to wait and see. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
