On Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend, my family and I gather at a small rural cemetery on a windswept hillside, surrounded by rich Iowa farmland, as the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars honors the men buried there who served in all of America's wars, from the War of 1812 to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
An aging VFW honor guard provides a 21-gun salute, followed by a lone bugler playing Taps. Some of the men being honored there were teenagers when they lost their lives in battle. Some came home to raise families and grow old in that community, or perhaps they settled there after their war years to start a whole new life. Still others migrated elsewhere before returning home to live out their final years and be buried in that little cemetery.

This is a great read by Mr. Patton.
Mr. Patton, I :salute1: your grandfather and father for their dedication for our country.
Obama could care less about this country. He has not shown any descency to go and visit an American veteran cemetery in honor of our veterans.

I recently Visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I'm afraid that I would be sick and throw up if I were there when this Communist clown performs the Memorial Day ceremony at the Tomb. Soetoro, the Marxist Mouthpiece is a national disgrace; he isn't fit to be Commander in Chief. I lost my father who was a WWII Veteran last year and I like Mr. Patton am glad that he didn't live to see this country taken down by a Communist. I hope that people see now that Communism never died; it just went into hibernation until the time was right and Hussein Obama would dress it up and drag it out calling it Change. I am a Vietnam Veteran; it makes me sick to my stomach. God save our Republic from this vile, evil man.

Barack Hussein Obama is much more than just a Marxist; he is non-American-born citizen and an Islamic terrorist who is attempting to overthrow America from within...and already doing a bang-up job of it.
God protect America from this threat living in the White House. Who would have thought that this day would come?

I was born almost 52 years ago at the United States Military Academy - West Point, New York. I was an army brat for 22 years when I married into the military. I was a military dependent as a daughter and then a wife until 1986. I have seen and touched the Berlin wall- seen war torn Viet Nam - heard a B-52 bombing raid- and lived all over the world. I am a true "mom and apple pie" kinda person and I have always believed in Our nation under God and Indivisible.... I knew things were changing - but I always believed we would survive because the underlying strength of America is Americans and their resolve to live free. I support our country with every fiber of my being and until just recently - I never thought we might fall. In light of recent events, I have to admit I am afraid for our future. I am afraid for my childrens future and for their childrens future - if we get that far. I have seen communism and I can assure you it is not a way of life that I can or will choose to submit to.
I still believe in our nation's underlying resolve but I am more afraid than I ever have been before. On this day when we honor our nations military both past and present- let us not forget about our future. Please do not let those who have gone on before us have done so in vain- and do not dishonor those who are keeping us safe and free now. I am in no way any kind of activist, but I know that without the voices of all of those like me - this nation will fall. Remember those who have given their lives for our freedom and pledge to honor them by giving of your time, dedication, and even finances to keep this Nation free and Old Glory flying.

There's a very small cemetery next to a small VFW hall nearby. Most of the veterans or KIA interred there are from the Spanish-American War, WW!, and a couple from WWII. Often wonder, as Patton does at the cemetery he visits, just what the aspirations, goals, and inspirations were that dwelt within these men.
We're now faced with the greatest threat this nation has ever faced: the insidious destruction of our values and institutions from within. Compounding the threat is the brainwashing our youth has received in public education for nearly two generations, so they don't have the moral base that would naturally lead them to oppose this as they gradually began to do after the reign of King FDR.
Let us pray that there remains a moral compass within all Americans that will ultimately reject this communist inspired corruption being spearheaded by the Dems.

Video: I Do This For You (http://s280121214.onlinehom e.us/video-i-do-this-for-you/)
This song is a tribute to the people who do it all for us!
Country music artists, The Readings, have their latest song "I Do This For You" online and available to you as a free download. This song was inspired by the stories of people protesting at the funerals of fallen soldiers. It is told from The Readings' perspective, through the eyes of a soldier.

Mr. Patton, I agree with you completely on this. My dad died last year at the age of 82 and I miss him alot. However, I am so relieved that he is not here to see what our present President is doing to our country. My dad was in the Army in WWII and was very proud of his service. I miss him so much.

He is not a loyal, patriotic American, and I am tired of pretending he is anything other than an underprepared, slick-talking Marxist.
Finally, "truth to power".

Thank you for putting these words down on paper. So sad, but very true unfortunately. I know my father, if he were still alive, would also be as upset as everyone else's fathers and as my mother is. Some one needs to set the wheels in motion to fix our education system.

Daveironbea, I remember Viet Nam from the "home" perspective. I remember a "police action" (!) so horrible and so protested, it made Iraq/Afghanistan look like a "good" war! It was, in fact, then when I knew we were going under.....I just didn't know when or how. I know it's "a day late and a dollar short", but I want to thank you for your service.
Mr. Patton has done a valuable service, as well, in reminding us what this day really means. My dad also served in WW II; my husband was mechanical support during Viet Nam; my grandson was in ROTC in high school, but was disqualified from serving because of a birth defect. I remembered them all--and all those I'll never know about--yesterday.
I have determined to refuse to call the man in the White House "THE President" since he will not exhibit his qualifications. Like most of you, I assume there's good reason for him to refuse--as in, they would disqualify him. I'm too old and too disabled to fight in the 2nd Revolutionary War, but my civil disobedience may prompt someone else to do so.

Way to go, Patton, tell it like it is to that Emperor Hussein who wears no clothes.
Agree Dennis.
To call this person a President would imply he's capable of being such! Obviously, to all with intelligence and discernment, he is anything BUT!!
Police Action my left foot. When people are shooting each other, we with intelligence call it WAR!
The current government speak seems to think that changing words to a more positive tone changes what things are, in reality!
And I'd be interested to see if anyone can answer a concern of mine. WHY do they have voters vote (as in California, and they DID about the same sex marriage) only to have the vote taken away and relegated to a "supreme court." And yes, like you and I will not term Obama "president," I will not call these court members "supreme" anything from now on. I just don't get it. And speaking of those types of courts. EGAD for the US one...holy moley Batman!
Alas, the Governor there has truly gone to the dark side!!!!
