"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying."
Matthew 28:6
Joy, joy, immortal joy!
The Lord is ris’n to reign;
On Easter day, the Scriptures say,
Christ rose to life again.
On Easter day, the Scriptures say,
Christ rose to life again.
Joy, deep and living joy!
The stone is rolled away;
The empty tomb has lost its gloom,
The night has turned to day.
The empty tomb hast lost its gloom,
The night has turned to day.
Joy, pure and sacred joy!
Let men and angels sing;
Let every voice in song rejoice
To praise our Lord and King.
Let every voice in song rejoice
To praise our Lord and King.
Joy, rich and endless joy!
High Heav’n the praise prolong;
Let holy joy all tongues employ
And fill the world with song.
Let holy joy all tongues employ
And fill the world with song. Peter C. Lutkin
Have a great Easter everybody!

Any special plans? We will go to Son's home for dinner after Early Mass. My Daughter in law does this every year and the whole family attends. Everyone brings a specialty for which we have become famous  Mine is a seven layer salad that has increased to about 10 layers. Maybe Joe will take me out to breakfast.
BBL, if I can. Off to make some coffee and start my salad.

Good Morning GOP USA, and a blessed Resurrection weekend!
Already have the lemon merengue pie made for potluck tomorrow, still have to come up with a meat and a side (small congregation anyway, and we get smaller in the winter   ) So each of us is doing all three items.
Mom is doing great, and behaving herself. She and Dad are all snuggled up in one of her homemade quilts at the moment--it's a little cool in the house this morning.
I'm still in my pj's--suppose I should get dressed already, ja? Hubby has a load of wood out in the back field to split and stack. It's nice to have that job done before the bugs come out of hibernation.
Have a good day y'all!
Blessings,
Sewing Susie :bible: :bible: :bible:
edited to add, thank you JJ for the beautiful card. Mom and I both enjoy it very much!

Good morning everyone!
jj, the flowers with my :f_coffee: and breakfast perked up this gray, gloomy morning the Lord has given us. Thank you.
SS, so glad Mom is doing much better. Must have been a very scary couple of days for all of you.
Seems our house is becoming the gathering place for all the neighborhood kids lately. They used to switch off from one house to another, but lately, it's pretty much just been here. I like the sounds of happy kids so I don't mind.
:boy: qualified for the AAA team for Little League this year. Being the top players for his age group, he'll have more practices and games. Instead of one or two practices a week, he'll have 3; Tues, Fri, and Sat.
Already, I can see that some of his practices are going to interfere with planned scouting activities for both :boy: and :tails:. For the baseball season, I'll be doing a lot of juggling and deciding which is most important at any given time. :aarg:
Thank you TGImR.
Good morning from Paradise...
Up late last nite, and up late this am, gotta be brief (what? ME? BRIEF?), working a shift and a half for the Boss. She's really trying to help me.
Cat for the past year, has been singing her Happy Hunting Song, and just bringing in lizards, and dismembers them after eating the tails. I thought the old girl was too slow for the vermin, and birds. Nope, two weeks ago, at 2 am she was singing and I woke up to parts of a burrowing owl in the livingroom. OK, so I've not let her out much at night if I can help it. I have been watching tv, she's singing and whoops- a lizard, ok, they run when she puts them in front of me. I don't mind 'em, they keep the spiders under control.
HOWEVER, early this week, she was singing LOUDLY and I saw a tail sticking out her mouth, wriggling and it wasn't a reptile tail. I ran, and closed the sliders, and then ran to close my office door. She looked up at me, opened her mouth and there was a fat, live mouse. I told her thru the doors, "Go show someone else, yer banished for the evening." She sang and ran around, and in the morning...a disemboweled mouse, well chewed. Last nite...same thing...she wasn't happy I wouldn't ooohhh and ahhh. I hate mammalian dead things, People! This morning...I walked out and there was a dead rodent, in a state unfit to describe to anyone unless they are a BIG fan of those slasher movies. NOT a fun way to start my day, Campers!
I got a call from Older Kid last evening at work, she was supposed to make Easter Brunch reservations 2 weeks ago, and she hadn't made a decision. THIS from a kid who makes 'em and stands by them, but brunch is outta her league. I'm gonna make 'em and they ain't gonna be happy, they are gonna come across the river to me.
After brunch, I have a tentative date with a fella I've seen a few times. NOT pushy, funny, 4 years older, in good shape and shaved head. BUT very traditional. As am I. Let's call him Joisey. He called this morning, he's over across the state for the weekend, with his daughter and her children. Saw Yanni last nite and wants to take me to see him on Wednesday, here. Cool. He has NO problem with not picking me up at my home, meeting me somewhere instead. I like that. I googled him, and so far he is who he says he is. Also cool. His two marriages were long time, and he offered me his ex wives e-mail, snail mail and phone numbers. NO animosity on his end he believes none on theirs. Now THAT is a rarity, both allowing his ex'es give their opinions and not being angry. I've known only one other man like that, and he and I were very good friends back in the VOTD, not anything other. In fact, I knew Ray so well, that when he was dating online, he had me write him a letter of recommendation about his good and bad points to potential dates. So did his ex wife! He died two years ago, and his widow and I are good friends.
The above wasn't brief, I'm sorry, gotta run,

I was off yesterday, so I took advantage of getting a hair cut, made they were busy. I work from 3 - 10 the next four days, clocking out around 10:20ish. I am certain the store will be very busy today and nearly dead tomorrow, because of Easter.
Off to read a few threads before hitting the shower and get ready for work.

LM, congrats to :boy: for making the AAA team! He must be very happy.
SS, glad your mom is doing better.
We don't have any big plans for tomorrow. We'll be going to see Mom at the rehab center, but someone goes out there each day anyway. Daughter gets off work at 4 tomorrow, but SIL has to go to work at 3. I think we'll tell the nurse that we're going to bring dinner in tomorrow night and pick something up at a restaurant. Mom says the food there isn't very good, but she's gained a little weight (which is a good thing).

HAPPY EASTER everyone!!
Have done my shopping for Easter dinner. Having Prime Rib, Ham and BBQ tri-tip for my large family. Am preparing my baked beans today and deviled eggs. Having mashed potatoes and gravy, my special garlic/buttered mushrooms, shrimp salad, and apple pies. My family is very large with 5 children and 15 grandchildren AND 5 going on 6 great-grandchildren most of whom I expect to come by for their Easter candies or baskets. A costly but wonderful tradition that we look forward to every year but with my Ralphs card I saved $98. Going out to the cemetery today also with some Easter Lilly's. Tomorrow we go to Mass at St. Gabriel's church. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!!!!

LM, A very :HB2: to you with God's blessings on this :sparkle: Easter :sparkle: weekend. Congratulatons to :boy: on his advancement to AAA. Is there someone you can exchange car pooling with for these practices?
Renee, your menu sounds delicious. We're having ham sandwiches, calico beans, salads, and desserts at my grandson's house. We're all bringing something. My donation is the calico beans and a dessert. There may be other food, too. I just don't know about it. No one has ever gone away hungry and if they do, it's their own fault!
OW, I'm sure your mom will appreciate the meal. My friend is in a nursing home and hates the food there so she always appeciates a meal out (she's able to get around pretty well).
I'd better get this done before you all disappear. Has anyone else ever had that problem? It's only while I'm on line. It doesn't bother microsoft or my other software. There's never anything specific I do to cause it. The page simply disappears.
Hope you all have a wonderful and Happy Easter. God bless you all.

Charlie a special Happy Easter to you and a belated Thank You for your appreciated comments on my Mothers passing recently. I am glad that you enjoyed my eulogy poem to her. It means a lot.
Dad always said that everyone said Mom looked like Rita Hayward but better looking. We have a photo of her disembarking an airplane in Argentina with a multitude of photographers at the bottom of the stairs because they had been informed by the crew that Rita Hayward was on the plane. When they found out it was only Mom they gave her copies of the film. Another time in Las Vegas when she went there with friends and Dad, the friends told the story of Howard Hughes trying to make a play for Mom sitting next to her and trying to impress until Dad took her and walked away. Mom was beautiful both inside and out. Just a little personal information which I always find enjoyable.

Watching the news and they mentioned the FBI de-briefed the crew of the Alabama, and that they are investigating the "crime scene". My question is, why the FBI and not the U.S. Navy, Merchant Marine or other military? Has the FBI become the U.S. police force? Has anyone seen anything in writing about this?

Have you ever......
1. ..gone to a pro sports game, if so what sport who?
Baseball, Atlanta Braves, Three games, Atlanta, Houston, and Cincinnati. They lost every time I went in person. Told Joe I was bad luck
2. ..ran a marathon or watched one?
We usually watch the one at the summer Olympics.
3. ..walked for a charity?
Yes, I used to collect for United Nations Youth at Halloween, and take all the neighborhood kids around in their costumes to trick or treat.
4. ..volunteered on a long term project, if so what?
Several. Generally when I worked we did lots of little things to generate a fund to help our patients buy some special items that insurance wouldn't pay for. It was fun for us and our patients were so appreciative.
5. ..visited the Statue of Liberty?
We went to NYC in August of 2001 and our tour did not give us time to actually go up into the statue but I did get to step on the Island where she resides. We were more interested in visiting Ellis Island and stepping in the same places where our parents and grandparents might have stepped upon.
6. ..returned clothes that you or someone else have worn?
Only once I returned an outfit to Walmart because the stitching ripped out after one wearing and I wanted my money back.
7. ..posted on a liberal web site?
I don't think so.
8. ..won playing the lotto, if so ever big?
I won 44 dollars one week and have won five dollars many times. My grandson won 250,000 dollars a couple of years ago.

I was visiting friends in New Mexico once and was asked not to come back so I just up and left. I don't know what their problem was.

Yep, with the Old Goat...everyone of them. His only words are, "I'm tired, I want to sleep," and "I'm not hungry, I'm tired." His idea of fun was to just hole up in a motel room, no matter where we were going, close the shades and sleep with the tv blasting. ugh.
---------------------------------------------
I'm just having brunch with one Kid, Younger and Older had a fun time until they went out. Older had some alcohol, and didn't drive, so Younger did, and went too fast. There was a VERY ugly squabble, and Younger went blasting out.
sigh. Older still doesn't "get" that even ON meds, bi-polar people cannot take any over stimulation. She shoulda ended the evening with a quiet movie and let it stay at that. Older is a party animal, loves people, and she wanted to show off her pretty sister. Younger doesn't drink or even take in caffeine, but too many people and not enuff rest sent her into a rapid manic cycling. Older only recently read about BPD, and didn't absorb the parts that pertain to her sister. OG is away, but he is adamant about drugs and therapy...NONE. So, between them, and no meds, things are kinda doomed until everybody is on the same page of music. Older finally realizes that she can't take her sister everywhere, no matter how much she loves her and is proud of her. Her brain cannot handle being bombarded with new, or too many, signals, and she flips out. It woulda happened on meds, but not as badly.
Oh, well, I have Older for lunch, then a nice dinner with Joisey. I'll figger sumpin out with Younger, once the storm in her brain calms down, might take days or she'll flip back to "normal," in a few hours, or she may not even remember what happened. That happens as well.
Happy Easter, He has Risen!

We had adjoining rooms whenever possible and my mother constantly complained our room was better than theirs. We had them choose the restaurants, but she never liked the food or atmosphere. There were many places we wanted to explore but mom refused to get out of the car so we either didn't stop, or only stayed for a short time.
We took them only because my Dad's health was beginning to fail and mom was getting really mean with him. Hope springs eternal, but the vacation didn't change anything.

The vacation from hell: We rented a beach house for 1 week at Port Boliver when the two kids were 6 and 9 years old. The A/C did not work and the screens were busted on the windows. It was hot and the mosquitos were plentiful. We suffered through 2 days and nights, and then we left for a motel with a swimming pool in Houston to salvage what we could of the vacation.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE !
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY
Our day is kinda spoiled, because it is horrible weather here in Arkansas today, so our big easter egg hunt is off.
But it is still a wonderful day knowing that our Lord rose from the dead !

Danny is correct. I have ran my fair share of marathons lately. Tomorrow, I will be running around again since I am off.
Danny and I will make sure everyone is on their best behavior.
Easter dinner was a complete success. Everyone had second helpings of everything.
Danny and I will make sure everyone is on their best behavior.
Yanno, we went thru this, I think about two years ago...
We literally had mass chaos, and a war behind the brick shed. Danny had a squadron of black helicopters, ML and I were fighting hard, in camo and stiletto combat boots.
There was even a food fight! Days of smoke, bullets, helicopters, jambalaya and Susie's to die for fudge, everywhere.
We were lucky there were no casualties. (Cuz we were all such bad shots!)
And it was because Terri took off for a week, and Danny and Katy had a coup.
Surely, we aren't gonna go thru that again, are we?
We allll know what happens when Danny and his first mate Katy are in charge.

I hear there is a new puppy in the White House.
They named him BO. I'm sure it was not in honor of Bo Derrick!
It was a Potuguese WATER Dog, a gift from Ted Kennedy.
A great swimmer.
The breed of dog, I mean.
