Has the federal government exceeded, or is it on the verge of exceeding its constitutional authority with the recent series of events connected to rescuing an ailing banking system?
Although Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., was ridiculed for raising that question in a congressional hearing on March 24, conservative talk show host, constitutional lawyer and legal commentator Mark Levin, told Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on March 24 that government was indeed exceeding the constitution. According to Levin, there is nothing in the Constitution that would allow the Obama administration to expand the government's ability to seize non-banking financial institutions as Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has proposed.
"It's unbelievable," Levin said. "There is no constitutional authority for this. I thought the American people like capitalism. I mean look, we luxuriated in this society as a result of the market system."

The Constitution requires barak hussein be born in this country, if that isn't enforced with him, why should anything else be enforced?
There is NO ONE enforcing anything except tax payers paying tax - try to stop doing that....

"It's unbelievable," Levin said. "There is no constitutional authority for this. I thought the American people like capitalism. I mean look, we luxuriated in this society as a result of the market system."
And, as the years have progressed, our Constitution has been shredded a little since FDR or possibly before. Every day I continue to read about the destruction of this country, but a lot of the people in this country have been raised on 'hand outs'. When they realize, too late of course, what has happened to their freedom then are they going to finally 'believe'?
Where are the people with the constitutional authority to stop this? Why are they sitting on their backsides doing nothing? Is it because Obama and his group of thugs have all the control? Or, is it that no one wants to make waves or look bad. Or, are they all in it for the 'power'? To watch the destruction of a society that has given them what they have? Just amazing.
this is a power grab to put in place the commy regime of obama and pelosi; the next one will be to do away with the constitution...oh wait a minute; thats already happening.

Although Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., was ridiculed
The way things are going there'll be as song about Rep. Bachman someday or at least she'll be able to claim "I was for the Constitution when the Constitution wasn't cool!"
Thanks to Levin for bringing "statist" to consciousness. Both parties are full of "big government is the solution" slugs that worry most about having to work for a living. Statists whether R, D or whatever are enemies of our country and way of life. Under the circumstances, I myself am looking for a Party of No. I'll not vote for the handwringers that "have to do something" aka "bipartisan just anything that spends money" to justify their slovenly existence in government.
And, as the years have progressed, our Constitution has been shredded a little since FDR or possibly before.Before. Woodrow Wilson allowed the Federal Reserve when Andrew Jackson said "no way."
Where are the people with the constitutional authority to stop this? Why are they sitting on their backsides doing nothing? Is it because Obama and his group of thugs have all the control? It's more than his group of thugs. It's been Republican dereliction of duty for decades, allowing a multi-generation of thugs from the 1960s down through the present. Note that each succeeding generation of liberal democrats is immeasureably worse than the generation before? And note that the Republicans have tended to follow them a few dutiful steps behind. Much of the liberal SCOTUS was Republican-generated, unless someone like Thomas or Bork gets nominated. Notice how the Republicans don't defend them in unison, making chickens a noble bird, and this ACLU general counsel like Ginsberg strides through with nary a Repubican squeal. Bush junior had the unmitigated temerity to boast that he's great enough to allow Clinton appointees to remain where they were. Or, is it that no one wants to make waves or look bad. Or, are they all in it for the 'power'? To watch the destruction of a society that has given them what they have?Yes, amazing that. These liberals (who aren't) think that they can be as god by destroying everybody else economically, until they, or their progeny, get destroyed--it happens to every totalitarian dictator or oligarchy, getting off by lording it over others with the help of their phony Republican friends. Then they wonder why they have to watch their own backsides after teaching their citizens by their own example of what they did to attain their god hood. Or how did Rome eventually fall.
About phony Republican friends: not everyone who takes registration with the Republican Party and asks to be hired into office by the same is a bona fide Republican. Like Lord, Lord.
Both parties are full of "big government is the solution" slugs that worry most about having to work for a living. Statists whether R, D or whatever are enemies of our country and way of life. But for us conservative citizens to reverse this? Do we need a good shellacking like from a Carter(!) to a Clinton(!!) to an Obama(!!!) every few generations to keep us in reminders that we need to be ever vigilent in our exercise of a lifestyle of self-governance citizenship? Assuming, that is, we can survive the self-inflicted punishment (of needed a CCO to remind us about the hard work it takes over generations to get us here, only to blow it all in the space of a generation).

The Obama Administration and the Democrat Party would just "BURN" the Constitution, instead of following it.
