On and on it goes, the constant hammering of our opponents in the media, the incessant gnashing of teeth by the liberals in general. Polling data shows a slight decline in the President's approval ratings. So far so good, right? No.
There is now something missing from the administration's actions that once solidified the conservative base as well as motivated us to openly fight against the tide of liberalism with a tenacity that scared the life out of them. I'll cut right to the chase here - the conservatism is missing from President Bush's actions. He's becoming far too much like his father as of late for most of us who call ourselves 'conservatives' without any of the idiotic prefixes we find attached these days. The element of taking our enemies by surprise has been replaced with 'bipartisanship' or 'diplomacy' - essentially abdicating the true leadership that the President had shown so well since 9/11.
We 'conservatives' are waiting, hoping that the "strategery" that President Bush has used so well will return. But there are signs that the cavalry isn't going to ride over the hill to save the nation these days. Here's a few examples:
1. Support of the Assault Weapons Ban. No true American can support the incremental disarmament of the citizens. The 2nd Amendment is the only thing between us and totalitarian world governance. Our political opponents are well known to support this same position of keeping the ban. So where's the difference? Any 2nd Amendment issue that is supported by Schumer, Clinton, Kennedy, and Feinstein HAD BETTER NOT BE SUPPORTED BY A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT!!
2. The continued pandering to the illegal immigrant community. Why aren't the borders effectively sealed against outside intrusion? Why have Homeland Defense when anyone carrying anything can cross our borders at will? Come on, Mr. President, get real. We want security. REAL security, not just the color codes. At the same time, we don't want a huge population of uneducated welfare drains allowed to flaunt our nation's laws while at the same time the Federal Government refuses to remove them from our midst. Why should any of us follow any laws at all? They don't. Don't ask us to fly straight and narrow while these miscreants can do as they wish while you redistribute our taxes to them. This doesn't wash well with 'conservatives'.
3. The United Nations. Give them the kiss of death, before they finish the job of bringing this nation down. STAY OUT OF UNESCO!!!! President Reagan knew what he was doing when he took America out of this horrible fiasco. The UN's appropriation of our National Parks and other sites as World Heritage Sites is one of the most blatantly un-Constitutional land grabs in history. At this point, to go back to the UN and ask for any international assistance in Iraq is humiliation. Dump the UN, and ADHERE to the Constitution. YOUR OATH OF OFFICE DEMANDS THAT YOU DO SO, AND WE'LL HOLD YOU TO IT!!! Mr. President, you've performed wonderfully as a LEADER - but you need to lead by example in this regard. You can't have it both ways. As Americans, we demand that our nation's sovereignty be maintained, not diminished. Let the Democrats campaign on a platform of relying upon international approval for our internal affairs - it will relegate them to the dustbin of history.
4. The Supreme Court. Recently, the SCOTUS has affirmed that they are now using 'international findings' in their decision making process. Mr President, you should get on the TV and announce that these Justices require impeachment. Their oath of office also demands that they uphold the Constitution, and this affirmation of using court findings from outside the US is a direct contradiction to their oath. Let the Congress FIRE THEM. This is an example that needs to be made, or our nation will continue to have these activist judicial members who undermine our rule of law. The Judiciary is not where laws come from, they are merely there to implement and clarify laws. The Clinton installed judicial members are an affront to this nation's moral fiber.
5. The State Department. This department is so stacked with ultra-liberal Clinton appointees that they are comfortable ADMITTING that they actively work to undermine the President's policy in world affairs. This cannot be allowed to stand. World affairs are quite central to the WOT, and we cannot afford any conflict of messages to our friends or our enemies. This nation must speak with one voice.
Finally, to President Bush: Sir: I was serving in the Army under your father, and was very sad when he lost the election. You have the capability in your hands to unify this nation as well as return it from the ruinous path that Clinton set it upon. The voting public will return you to office in a landslide if you merely continue to make decisions using only one guideline - just ask yourself "What is right by the Constitution, as well as what is right for the nation as a whole?" Don't ask yourself what polls say, or what the Democrats think. Follow your heart as a truly conservative American. An American who owns land, uses firearms, and believes in what our nation's Founders started.
You'd be the first politician in generations to do this. And America would remember you always as a truly great American. Please.
