:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:
Did you watch Greta's interview with the Palin's? I liked it overall but thought she stepped over the line a bit with the intimate questions to Bristol. Want to see what you thought.
There will be an "Obama, You Don't Know Stimulus" protest rally along with a $30,000 a plate pig roast at the state capitol in Denver to celebrate the signing of the stimulus bill by O. Wish I could go. :D
Did you know that CIA Director Leon Panetta was sworn in secretly last Friday? Why would it be secretly?

Did you watch Greta's interview with the Palin's?
I didn't see it. I try not to watch the MSM and , sadly since their horrendous Katrina coverage, FOX is too far left for me these days.

There wasn't anything leftwing about the interview with the Palin family. Actually, it was very good. I just thought Greta pushed a little hard about some personal information.
Bristol was emphasizing over and over again that while she wouldn't trade her baby for anything she does wish she had waited 10 years. I hope what she had to say made an impression on other young conservative girls.

Good Morning!
I didn't see it. I try not to watch the MSM and , sadly since their horrendous Katrina coverage, FOX is too far left for me these days.
I wish I could still get FOX NEWS. As obnoxious as SOME of the people are on SOME of the shows , it is STILL, let's say, the LEAST commie-pinko-leftie of them all. And that's not saying very much, I'm afraid.
Here's why I CAN'T get FOXNEWS:
I have DISH TV. When I noticed that my monthly bill was creeping towards $200.00, I decided it was time to cut back on the "Premium" Channels. Unfortunately one can only get one's channels in "Packages" and FOXNEWS in ONLY included in the MOST EXPENSIVE, TOP-OF-THE-LINE, EVERYTHING INCLUDED PACKAGE!!!! The minute one reduces one's "Package" to even the NEXT lower tier, one LOSES FOX NEWS!!!!! :yikes: So in order to get "Fair and Balanced" news, I must also pay for all the R Rated Movie Channels, HBO, Showtime, Flix, Encore, The Playboy Channel, All The Sports Channels, Sirius, The Rap Channels, The Home Shopping Channels, The Russian Channels, The Arabic Channels, The Spanish Channels, The Disney Channels, MTV, VH1, VH2, The Concert Channels, The Deaf Channel, The Blind Channel, The Gay Channel, The Mexican Channel, The Military Channel, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, The Do-It-Yourself Brain Surgery Channel, The teach Yourself Piano In A Flash Channel, and ALL the Miami and Ft Lauderdale Channels, Spanish and English.
I said No Thanks. :D
I think I'll go play the drums now.

Good morning,
I didn't get to watch Greta last night. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well and I fell asleep right in front of the TV just after Hannity started so I missed the Palin interview.
I think I am getting sick, I have a sore throat, a dry cough, and the tinge of a headache. I already started on the Zicam.
Gee, Mary Lou, doesn't your area have cable? My cable and internet together runs just over 100 per month. Joe's cousins in Memphis switched from dish to cable finally because it was cheaper and they didn't get good service with Dish network. I suggest looking into what other sources there are out there.
Terri, I can't imagine a $30,000 plate of food. Why not just do a raffle where someone would have a chance of winning some money or nice gifts? Then they could have a $25 dollar a plate dinner instead. I don't even know anyone who could afford $30,000 for a plate of food.
Terri, were you affected by the snow storm that hit California?
"The average person will get $8 per week in their paycheck and they will pass on to their grandkids $1.1 trillion in debt. We created more new government than we did jobs and the substance and process cannot repeat itself." ~ Sen. Lindsay Graham
I am going to go mull over what I would do with 8 bucks a week should I happen to get it.
I will be back later.

Joy, $30,000 is what they are saying the stimulus bill will result in $30,000 in debt per family before interest accumulates. No one is eating. It's just part of the protest. $30k plate of pork.
Here's a quote from the flyer:
When President Obama signs his so-called stimulus bill in Denver on Tuesday, his stroke of the pen is equal to each American family signing over a $30-thousand dollar check to the government.
“At a time when tough budgeting decisions are being made around the kitchen table, each family in America will soon be 30-thousand dollars deeper in hock, thanks to this legislation,” says Jon Caldara, President of the free-market think tank, the Independence Institute. “Most of that spending should never happen at all, and much of that money will be spent on pork that won't even taste good.”

There wasn't anything leftwing about the interview with the Palin family. Actually, it was very good. I just thought Greta pushed a little hard about some personal information.
I enjoyed the show and I thought the question about birth control was to personal. I think Bristol gave a excellent answer. Wait ten years and abstinence would be the way if reasonable.
I really liked the emphasis on the help and strength of a family. Bristol appeared to be more mature and not a girl.
Sarah came along and added the security of a wise grandmother. You just know things are going to be OK when she is present.

Good morning folks,
Terri, I watched Greta's interview with Bristol and I liked it, but wished she would have eased up a bit on some of the questioning. I was glad Bristol repeatedly said she wished she had waited 10 years, tho she loves that sweet baby dearly. Her life is no longer lived for herself. That's motherhood for you.
I have been pleased for the most part with the way Greta has dealt with the Palin family. I think she has tried to be fair with them and seems to have developed an affection for them all.
What if the cable companies and satallite(sp?)
companies have to be bailed out by the government? Does that mean the government
gets to spoon feed us our entertainment, news etc. Pretty scary with this "Fairness Doctrine" bill. Seems like I've seen this movie before.
Well, I'm gonna get something done. Have a good day.

Good Morning...
I didn't get to watch Greta last night either..but it will be rerun ad nauseum, over the weekend.
Mary Lou..I have DISH..and I too cut back..I was getting ''all the premium movie channels'' so I cut back to the Gold Premium...for 54 bucks a month.......saving over 40 bucks now.
And, I get FOX and the one I like best is they added FOX BUSINESS...I love that one.
You might have done down one package..to far and I think the only difference is about 5 bucks.
Wondering what is going to happen to my Sirius/XM .... we have S in the big rig, and X in the SUV....hubby loves his SAT radio...
We are all damned if we do. Cut back and loose companies that provide us with things we need and love. Don't cut back and risk going broke.
I don't know what the answer is...we are cutting off our noses to spite our faces, cutting back...especially those of us in our own small businesses.....the things I cut back on could put a truck driver out of work...and if other's cut back it could put my truck driver out of work.........or my grocer or beautician or shoe store.
Unionized corporate America is our fate? The small businessman/woman are doomed for extinction?
So it seems....
(I conducted an experiment a few weeks ago. I decided I wanted to see how Banks were treating their customers in small town USA. So I told them I wanted to lower my car payment by a couple hundred dollars a month, so I'd like to refinance. It took about 20 minutes, and my wish was granted.------
I will not keep the car long enough to pay that extra interest, but in the meantime my car payment is more than 200 bucks a mo less, making the slow times easier to handle.............i t didn't seem the bank was reluctant to loan, or it was even an issue......now I don't know what to think.)

Joy, I just didn't want you to think we're so rich here in Colorado that we can throw $30k a plate fundraisers. :laff:
Btw, son just had to switch to Dish because cable pulled out of his little town. He got Fox News in his package and is paying about the amount Cheesecake said. He doesn't have any premium channels, or won't, once his free time is up.

I am in the process of composing a letter to Steele at the RNC asking if we can stop supporting those Rinos who don't support the Republican platform. Specter, Collins, Snowe, Graham all run under the Republican banner but vote too often with the Democrats. Why should they continue to get our RNC donations to help them win reelection?
If he wants to rebuild the party, one way of doing it would be not to anger the grassroots who do the work on the ground for the party. Supporting Rinos also causes many would be voters to stay home or vote for the opposition.
I think it's time to cut them loose and let them run as the Independents they really are.

Good Afternoon GOP USA!!! Computer is struggling but is still running. If we can locate the software, Sonny wants to crash-n-reload. Still looking....
:sparkle: :fwork: :f_bubbly: :HB2: :f_bubbly: :fwork: :sparkle: to our Candles, and many more!!! Double Nickle eh? I'm right behind ya--51½ this month. Hubby's Mom's B-day is the 21st of this month too.
RW, those were great trivia questions! Brings back again my memories of growing up in Big Rapids, listening to WBRN radio, with Dick "Ol' Cookie" Cook and his one-of-a-kind on-air style, and Sinatra, Armstrong, Der Bingle, et. al.
And those Saturday mornings when WBRN became, as my Bro called it, "W-BARN", and played country all day, including that corny old thing about "Work your fingers to the bone, whaddya get?...." :cdmusic:
When Hubby and I were first married in '78, we listened to a local rock station. I got tired of listening to so much dysfunction and downright sleaze just to get to a few good songs, and ended it when I heard some vapid idiot singing about "wishin' he could get inside her pants". At that time an old AM station, which had been rock, switched to a local talk format, and I listened to that for a while. I was a big fan of Bob Kwessel and Mark Scott, and called them quite a few times--especially the day I heard them mangling the names of two Upper Michigan towns.
The station eventually lost its local guys and went to some nationwide ones, and about that time I found a really nice Christian station in GR.
Nowdays I listen some to Moody Radio, some to the old-timer of Christian Radio here (WFUR, which my Bro used to deride as "Woofer"), and weekdays to WOOD am for Rush et. al. And of course, we all just say "wood" around here for the name of the station.
MC, he has all the qualities for a preacher.
DA, I'm very deeply sorry if you have had a bad experience with someone who calls himself a Man of God, but those are few and far between. The preachers I have known in my life are just as human as I am, and have their faults, but none of them have ever shown that kind of character--both my retired pastor and my current pastor are caring, compassionate, and upright preachers of the Word. They are not perfect--but then neither am I. At that Wedding feast, we all will be, and won't that be :excited: !
The lying :jackass: enemy loves to plant a few bad apples among God's people, just to louse things up and get people to feel the way you do, and yes, genuine men of God do screw up on occasion, and the enemy is equally happy to use them to discourage the brethren. How :sad1: I refuse to cave in to  's agenda--all his lies and attacks deserve is a big fat raspberry, with thumb firmly on nose.

DA, I Understand. Susie, You have been BLESSED. That's about all I can say about that issue.
Just came from the beauty Parlor (a new one) where the Proprieter actually HAS some political brains, but JUST as I was finishing up my appointment, an elderly lady hobbled in with a walker, bashing Bush and singing the praises of Obama. I had HAD it. I adopted the pose of a suplicant worshipper, hands in the air, and started bowing up and down chanting o-BAAAAA-ma, o-BAAAAAAAAAA-ma, like I was in a sacred temple. The Haidresser erupted into hysterical laughter. The old lady started screaming at me that Bush had destroyed the country. Then I said to her, "you know what's in the stimulus package? A provision that the GOVERNMENT is now going to decide if you're TOO OLD or TOO SICK to deserve MEDICAL CARE! What do you think of THAT?" She shut up.
I have HAD it.

I am thoroughly disgusted with what Swaggart and Bakker, and other preachers, have done. But I :nahna: in the enemy's face and walk into church every Sunday anyhoo. I am the saucy raspberry-blowing type, and I love sticking it to  .
One of the ladies in my Sewing Group (the good little sheeple) said that she didn't believe that Der Ein ever heard all that racist garbage his preacher spewed. :huh2: :hmmm: does she actually think I believe that???
I told her if I once heard anything like that coming from my pastor, I would take a hike. On the spot.
Her Hubby will not darken the door of a church because he once was a preacher, and when he was no longer able to preach they took away his membership. #@$&?@#$*!!
I'm trying Katy's Lemon Pepper Pork Chops for supper, except I'm using chicken tenders cuz I fixed pork chops last evening. It's hard to come up with a lot of variety when Hubby is doing Atkins. You have to watch ingredient labels and nutrition facts statements like a hawk.

Being a young single mother is HARD WORK!! I had my first daughter at 18 also, and I can relate: The best thing and the worst all at the same time!!! I never considered having an abortion. I admit that I used medical: since under our families insurance I was not covered for a pregnancy or child birth. BUT I NEVER used food stamps, or welfare. I paid for my daughters health insurance (I was still covered under my family's) after she was born. I paid for my own schooling. I have never received child support. I worked, I went to school AND I raise my daughter, single-handedly to this day!
Does that make me superhuman! Absolutley not! It makes me a real American who against unsurmountable odds, does the right thing without expecting endless handouts from the government!

Nope--one was Munising, which they pronounced "Mucining" blecch and the other was Ontonagon, which they called On-ton'-agon. I corrected them on Munising, then told them that if Mr. Kwessel were to whap Mr. Scott upside the head, he would be hitting him On-ta-noggin.
That straightened them up.

So the special one had to sign the stealfromus bill in Denver. That is just south of us about 350 miles and to close for me.
What are we going to do with him prancing around everyday campaigning, don't he know that costs big money. He has already blew more money on AF one then Bush did in 8 years. I think it is time to ask him to resign.
The Obama market dropped about 290 today and we can not afford him much longer.

I wish we could ask Obama to resign, but with a liberal leftwing Democratic Congress. It would be impossible.
Next year is going to be a pivotal year for us. We must regain both houses of Congress.
I don't know why Obama had to fly to Denver to sign his stimulus bill. He could have stayed in Washington.
This stimulus bill he signed today did not grant our military any money for new and improved equipment. It just proves how the far left do not care about our military or for this country.

SS, my mother's family lived in Munising for many years and up until about 15 years ago still owned property there. One of our neighbors, strangely enough, was born and raised in Munising.
I've been bombarded with Facebook friend requests today. Since the esteemed president of our WFRW group got in facebook and said she was conservative, they've been pouring in. I've been on the durned thing for 2 years but didn't think to say I was conservative. LOL
I'm hoping and praying our candidate for the Dept. of Public Instruction gets second place in the primary. We know realistically that the Dem is going to be top dog but we want Rose. These are 4 year terms so she'd be able to get a lot done in that length of time.

And a pot o' decaf to go with it, plus a steaming kettle of Sleepy-Tea, to lure in Sandman and Morpheus for anyone wanting to corral the duo.

Came home for lunch (and a brief post) and began to head out to work again, and the CAR WOULDN'T START! (click click click click click) so I put on some shoes and socks over my new pedicure and saddled up the bike and roared off to my lesson. After the lesson, THE BIKE WOULDN'T START (click click click click click) so I begged a ride off a mom off a FORMER student (who happened to live on the next street) to my next job, and sat on the porch till THEY showed up, with a helmet, and no bike. So THEY show up and say "Where's your car?" "It wouldn't start so I had to take my bike." "Where's your BIKE?" "Well, IT wouldn't start, so I had to bum a ride to get HERE." Later, THAT student's mom drove me to a gas station, where I met up with Hubby Mike who drove me to where I had abandonned Baby Blue Bike, and we Jump Started her and i drove her home. The charger is now on the car and i am watching reruns of HOUSE and drinking large quantities of wine.

M-L. I hope tomorrow will be a much better for you. Thank You, Candles. I think the evil spirits were jealous that I had such a nice morning at the beauty parlor so since they could not attack ME they attacked both of my vehicles.

I got a small taste of what socialized medicine will be like under the stimulus bill by spending 3 hours on the phone with a customer rep. from the insurance company. The mail order drug company canceled my order because I supposedly had gotten one of four of my prescriptions filled at a local pharmacy (which I hadn't).
About the only good thing was this woman was extremely pleasant, helpful, and as determined to find and solve the problem as I was.
When we were finally finished, I told her to take a coffee break; she had earned it. :)
I heard on FNC today that Henry Waxman wants to apply THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE to the Internet. :yikes: With the Dems not caring what their constituents want and 3 Rinos crossing the aisle, how long will it be before we lose our ability to get the truth or anything but government sanctioned news. :tearhair:
How long will it be before we become like Cuba? This would be worse than socialism.
Every newcast seems to bring worse news than the one before it.
