Calling All Members & Friends of CFIR:

The citizens of the State of Texas need your help! As in the founding of this great state, a call went out to protect its people from a foreign invasion. In 1836, it was repelled by the Texians (we were called Texians before we became Texans) at the Alamo and our final Battle of San Jacinto. We won final independence as a sovereign nation, and, nine years later we became a state in the United States of America.

Texas is no longer for Texans. Rep. Roberto Alonzo, (D-Dallas) has introduced a bill that prohibits cities from restricting landlords on who can rent homes from them – a direct criticism of Farmers Branch's efforts to keep illegal immigrants from renting homes there.

This invasion is happening again. Not with the alarm of a gun shot, but with the approach of men in business suits who want cheap labor, and who lobby our Texas Legislature with a pen and the promise of money. We are helping them with their goals by our apathy.

Millions upon millions of illegal aliens have invaded this country. They have changed the landscape of our nation---most of it for the worst. However, is it truly their fault? No! Who do we blame? We blame the employers - the disloyal Americans who knowingly employ illegal aliens in the many levels of the service and construction industries.

We have been told by many of our state legislators that we are blaming the illegal alien and not penalizing the true greedy culprit: the employer. Many politicians over the past several years have told us they would support and vote for legislation that did just that. Now they have their chance!

Like Arizona and Oklahoma, we now have the means to change the landscape of Texas for the better, and reverse the “human forming” of our state. We now have the ability to send people to their home country. This will be done without deportations or threats of any kind. Just as illegal aliens walked across our border silently, and employers hired them, so they will silently go home and employers will pay the price in fines and/or jail time.

How will we do this? With your help and the help of Representative Leo Berman of Tyler, Texas. Our Texas legislators only meet every two years. They are meeting from January-May of 2009. Rep. Berman has introduced several immigration related bills. The strongest bill is HB 266. It will be the greatest single act to change Texas in the 21st century. This bill, as in other states, will enforce and make mandatory for all Texas employers the use of the federal database called E-Verify. This system i s 99.5% accurate. Every employer will verify the legal residency of their prospective employee via website or telephone call.

If the illegal alien is kept from employment, he cannot work. If he cannot work, he cannot eat or support himself or his family. The vast majority of illegal aliens will SELF-DEPORT. At the same time, employers will be fined and some will be convicted of a state felony. Some will even serve jail time. Don’t you think this will deter illegal activity?

How can we get HB 266 passed? We need your help. We cannot do this without every person who reads this letter to act. First, talk to, e-mail, educate, and ask for help from all of your friends in this fight. Ask yourself and everyone you know in Texas to:

1. Come with us on Wednesday, January 28 to lobby the Texas Legislature on HB 266 and other bills. We will be representing IRCOT, the Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas, www.ircot.com. The legislators are most impressed by the “physical” presence of Texans coming to Austin. One person represents hundreds and hundreds of their constituents. More information will be coming soon. Space is limited on the bus and RSVP is required. You may follow us in your personal car or meet us at the capitol as well.

2. If you cannot come to Austin, we need you to call your state representative and state senator and strongly ask for their endorsement and vote for HB 266 and other bills introduced by Rep. Berman. We also need you to call every legislator in Austin and tell them you support these bills as well.

3. We need you to call our local radio shows like Mike Gallagher at 660 KSKY, JD Wells and Jeff Bolton at 570 KLIF, and Mark Davis at 820 WBAP, and ask them to support HB 266. Ask them to put Rep. Leo Berman on their shows to get the word out to all Texans. Ask for interviews of CFIR leaders on their show.

4. We need donations to carry out this fight through the media. Open your hearts and your purses to the men and women who are out of a job, displaced or affected by competing with illegal aliens for jobs. HB 266 will change this.

Folks, this is no longer a spectator sport. This is not the time to be an armchair quarterback or a couch potato (use the analogy that fits). If you are reading this letter, we are talking to you! Will you hear the call or ignore our plea?

Will you meet me there?

Though not a Texan, I wish you well in your efforts.

I also wish you well and hope it succeeds. One state at a time if that is how it has to be. Wish we could get this type of action in CA. I would take a couple days off work if needed to go to Sacramento.

I have a small business, most of my competitors use illegals, I don't and it costs me sometimes, both in jobs I don't get (because my price is higher) and I don't make as much (pay legal workers more) but I have no regrets in doing the right thing.

I am a Texan that lives in Florida, also in danger of being swallowed up by the Hispanic Invasion. But I am still a Texan first, and an American second.

What you are talking about is the Reconquista, in Spanish, the Reconquest of at least the Western US if not the entire US to take back for Mexico what was taken from them back in the 1800's by the independence of Texas, the Gadsden Purchase and so on.

It is a concerted effort by Mexicans and others of Hispanic and Mestizo descent to come to our country legally or illegally and outbreed and outvote us until they are in the majority and have taken back what they believe was stolen from them a century or two ago. If you want to see the future they envision for the US go look at South Florida, South Texas, Southern California.

Mostly Dimocraps but also Repubs, as well as the MSM, Hollywood, Liberals, the ACLU, and the rest of the social elite are in collusion with them to allow this to happen through their open borders policies which allow criminals to come to our country and stay and even gain citizenship, all the while breaking our laws and threatening our national sovereignty, without even lifting a finger to stop them and in most cases encouraging and assisting them.

There are several good organizations involved in the fight against the Reconquista, the one I have belonged to for several years and is very good is NumbersUSA. They might be able to assist you and your legislative allies further.

Good luck, I wish I could help you further. We have our own battles to fight against the invasion here in South Florida, with no help from any governments.

So, another hyphenated American. State before country. :ugh:

We, here in Texas, are having to fight off the semi-successful campaigns run in Arizona and Oklahoma. More and more of the Illegals are moving away from those two states and settling in Southern Texas. The Border cities have become battle grounds for Mexican Police/Military and the drug lords. I NEVER see it on any of the national news channels, but do hear it on local TV and radio all along the I-10 Corridor. We've been gang emails and faxes to Gov. Perry and all of our State Senators and Congresspersons (still a slight majority R's), and it does look like we can get some movement on programs that should, in reality, be NATIONAL.
Thanks for all your well wishes. If you have the time, I will see you there.....

So what's wrong with being proud of your state? I thought that was a large part of conservatism, limited federal government, more power to the states, and so on.

It's not like I said I was an Irish-American or a Scottish-American or a Dutch-American. That would be a hyphenated American, not a Texan-first. A Texan is still an American without any loyalty to another foreign country.

I am sure if you ask a lot of Texans they will tell you they are Texans first, and Americans second. Same for Alaskans as well, or so someone from Alaska told me. In fact it was the Alaskan that put the thought in my head, and I realized, yeah, I'm a Texan first, and an American second.

In fact it wouldn't hurt my feelings any if Texas seceded based on the direction the US is going. I would probably even move back. After all Texas has enough oil to supply its own needs for the next 250 years. Heck, Texas could even join OPEC.

So what if I'm more proud of my home state for staying more conservative than the country at large. Whatever.

Terri,
I'm not sure what your objection is, nor the comparison to "hyphenated American". You may recall that Texas is a STATE in the US, so there is no hyphenation there, nor is there any allegiance implied to another nation, country, or religion.
You seem to promote the GOP agenda, and conservative philosophies, but with that comment you seem to deny the very practice that can bring a conservative agenda back to Washington DC. How can we progress to Washington without first promoting that agenda on a local and state level. Ever hear of "grassroots"?
Sorry if it offends you that people that are born in Texas, and live in Texas are so proud of their state they feel obliged to be proud. I think that would be a good thing for all 50 states (except for Obama that would be 57 states).

Look, I live in Colorado so I've already seen the worst that Texas has to offer. On the other hand I've met many nice Texans.

I guess only a Texan would go to another country and say they're a Texan rather than an American.

I'm an American and proud of it. I could live in any of 50 states and I'd still be an American. I'm not hyphenated. I'm just an American who lives in Colorado. Course it's all downstream from here, including Texas.

I'm not a Texan, living in Florida, thinking that Australia is somehow more conservative, claiming my country of residence is Texas. I'm an American, first, last and always.

When I write my book about political Internet forums I'll be sure to mention the people from the country of Texas even though some of them don't live there. :D

And this has nothing whatsoever to do with your issue, nothing to do with DC, nothing to do with you either, Garry.

I appreciate your statements Terri, and no this isn't about your either, just was curious about your implied disdain for pride one might exhibit to ones state of origin. I look forward to your book, please let me know when it hits the bookstands.
I travel all over the world as well, almost every country that has ocean front. I service Ocean Going vessels Automation systems and have the occasion to see much more of the world than most, for that I'm grateful, because I can see plainly the differences in being an "American" or "Not". I will give you an example of the generic conversation I have in "most" foreign lands:
When I speak, I am immediately recognized as American in which I hear, "Ah, your American?" which I will reply proudly "Yes". Then I am usually asked "Where in America are you from?" to which I will reply "Texas". That will usually get a response such as "Ah, Texas! Kennedy, bang bang!"
So you might see that I am not overly impressed with what other countries think of my state origin. You are at the mercy of what is propagandized through their media.
Having not been born or raised in any other state, and not learned of those states through their individual "State History" classes as I have in "Texas History Classes" (We also had American History Classes) I will have to submit that I have no knowledge of how proud I would be to live in any other of the 49 states, but I do, however, have extreme pride of being American, and equally a Texan.
Thanks for your time and comments....

Terri

Two things:

First, my comments had nothing to do with you, Garry, were not directed to you or about you.

Second, I apologize for them appearing in your issue thread but this is where the country of Texas came up.

I do hope that conservatives will not take the same road that liberals did during the Bush administration where they were ashamed of their country. We need to stay away from that kind of moonbattery as much as possible, IMO.

But, now that you've mentioned the superiority of Texas over the other 49 states I'd just like to point out to you that Texas produced the president that made this thread necessary.

Had Mr. Bush from Texas done his job, he would have protected the great state of Texas from foreign invasion long before now and the state of Colorado too.

Texas is a state like the other 49. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Because we live in a union of the states we are privileged to choose among them for a place of residence, a place to vacation and to enjoy their strengths along with those of our own state.

For example, I think it might be a little dark in Texas if those long coal trains stopped running down the Front Range and we might have a higher unemployment rate here in Colorado in that event.

All the states are great and I'm sure most of us are proud of ours in some ways, not so proud in others, but we are Americans, not Texas-American, not Colorado-American, just American.

Just to lighten this thread up...

Louisiana has what is called "the grit line," below Baton Rouge is "hash brown territory," and above is "grits territory."

Above Baton Rouge is "chicken fried steak," and below is "crawfish country."

And last but not least, EVERY PLACE north of Baton Rouge is "America!"

Dat's all because we speak dem Franch in Lower Loosiana, yeah, cher!

Whew!

I love Texas, but I consider myself an American first. Admittedly, when I visit out of state, I emphasize my Texas heritage. But if I were to travel to another country, I would be proud to stand up for the USA.

Now, garryb, I happen to work for one of those legislators you are planning to storm, and I can tell you this, your methods for persuading them will not work. Fax slams go into the trash. A huge rally is good for the media, but it isn't going to sway a vote one way or another. And face it, Governor Perry is basically a figurehead with very little real power.

PLUS, considering the "moderate Republican" presumptive speaker that all the Ds in the House are enthusiastically backing, the lege is going to be a whole new ballgame. The Ds are going to have a lot more power than their numbers would indicate.

If it were me, I would make appointments to speak with either the chiefs of staff or legislative staffers and explain calmly your support for these bills. Don't bring in things like the reconquest or people will think you are nuts. Have sound arguments, not hysterical suppositions.

You might also want to check out the tools on this website about contacting elected officials.

I am a Texas and am VERY proud of it --- I do believe Texans are a different breed. Those from say------Colorado don't much care for us, but just ask us if we lose any sleep over it!!!!!
We have seen first hand what it looks like, feels like and smells like to be invaded by another country while our government does nothing to protect us - jobs are lost to Texas citizens, our schools and hospitals are a mess and parts of our cities don't even speak english. We practically close down the city to celebrate "Fiesta" so illegals can get drunk and fight!!
Texans will never give up the fight to reclaim our state ---- if we do other states are in big trouble!!!!

Terri

Sabrina, as I said and you chose to ignore, I've met many nice Texans, not every single one, but many.

As to losing the battle with foreign invaders, I certainly do hope you win, but I also hope you keep in mind that the president who left the borders open for the past 8 years came from the state of superiority.

Colorado has some of the strongest laws discouraging illegals in the country. It's always seemed odd to me that a state on the front lines like Texas wouldn't have even stronger ones. Even Arizona has finally wised up and that's with a Democrat governor.

Sabrina
01-13-2009, 04:21 PM
Terri - I agree with you about the laxed laws we have here in Texas regarding illegals and the fact that President Bush is indeed a Texan, but you must remember not all Texans agreed with Bush on immigration ---- just like the two border patrol agents we have begged him to pardon and he has basically refused --- wonder what the bottom line was on that....
We have a governor (Perry) who is illegal friendly - one Senator who stands with us (Cornyn) and one who doesn't (Hutchinson)- who will most likely try to take the governorship from Perry----we are in a tough spot, but as I said before we will fight on -- if the immigrants here realized that illegals are hurting them too believe me things would change quickly.

Terri

Sabrina, I do understand how hard it is to get anyone, federal or state, to pass laws to defend the country. I do not normally mention that a certain state is to blame for things like where a president came from, etc.

It was the air of superiority in this thread from those who think it's better to be from Texas than the US that caused me to point out a few things. :D

We all like our own state or we probably wouldn't live there but there are problems in all of them too.

I hope things improve in Texas but it sounds like your legislature moved more to the middle and I find it hard to think that your senator will be very conservative as governor.

On the other hand we've gone totally Democrat here in Colorado. :( It's a hard time to be a conservative wherever we are.

Like Davy Crockett said,"The rest of you may go to H***. I am going to Texas".
Of course, that got him killed, but that's another story.
As for me,TEXAS FIRST,LAST,and ALWAYS.
And no hyphens.
On a side note,I was saddened to that BHS had made it to GOPUSA.
But I have TEXAS,so it's not bad.
To the author of this thread, the district I live in is a gerrymandered district with 100% demorat representation from city to federal,so you can see what result I will get contacting my representatives.
