WASHINGTON (AP) -- President George W. Bush has granted pardons to-- individuals and commuted the prison sentences of two others convicted of misdeeds including drug offenses, tax evasion, wildlife violations and bank embezzlement.
The new round of White House pardons announced Monday are Bush's first since March and come less than two months before he will end his presidency. The crimes committed by those on the list also include offenses involving hazardous waste, food stamps, and the theft of government property.
Bush has been stingy during his time in office about granting clemency, but more grants are expected.

I noticed Ramos and Compeon aren't on the list. I guess that was too much to ask.

That's why I gave you the link to send email to the president.
There will be more pardons. We need to keep asking.

I sent two so far. There is no excuse for President Bush to ignore this injustice on behalf of those two border guards who were just doing their jobs.
Why doesn't he see this?

Thank you Terri, I have complied with your request and sent an e-mail to still- President Bush. I hope sincerely these men will soon be in the bosom of their families.
I have emailed before and will continue to do so.
They need to be pardoned. Heck they should of never been jailed in the first place.

Why doesn't he see this?
Because he is friends with and appointed Johnny Sutton the US Attorney for that Texas District and is still too damn stubborn to admit the mistake. Sutton should be the one in prison for misconduct.

About a week ago I sent the composite letter provided. I have composed and sent a letter as well.
I have also saved the letter to WP so that I can print and snail mail the same letter.
Thank You Terri for posting the link. It floors me that this injustice has gone on for so long.
I agree that Sutton belongs in prison for this. Some of the people he has sent there would love his "company."

I whole heartedly agree and have to add the judge and a couple other cohorts as well.
the bp guys should have topped the list for pardons but bush has no interest in allowing them out. he seems to think that sutton did no wrong and wants to keep in good with mexico.
I have been sending faxes, emails etc. for the entire time that they were even being prosecuted so this is just another in a long line that I have sent in. I just hope he does the right thing, but I don't expect anything to happen!

Ok, I sent it Terri, and got Jimmy to send one too. I'm still skeptical that he'll do anything for them since he's had plenty of time and ample opportunity.

Now is the time when pardons are handed down, at the end of a president's term.
There will probably be several rounds of them. The biggest ones will come last.
Keep writing! :D

If outgoing Bush and 'Sutton' have any conscience at all, I hope neither of them get a nights rest until the two border guards in question are free and forgiven for doing the job expected of them! Shame ,shame shame'
They'll be pardoned, but like Mark Rich, at the last possible minute, so as to avoid anyone interfering.

I've sent multiple requests for the pardon of our border patrol agents and will keep sending them until the last day if necessary.
It's disappointing and outrageous nothing has been done yet.

I e-mail my request to President, again on pardoning these to Border Guards. I lost count on the number of time I e-mail him on this issue. I will keep e-mailing him as long as he is our President.

As all of you know from my sig line, I have prayed for the president, his family, and staff since I joined this forum. I have never wavered in my support of him, even though it has cost me friends, respect in my field of endeavor, and even paying gigs.
I stood by my party even when they chose the worse possible candidate, watch them abandon conservative principles in order to try and please everbody, (and end up plaesing NOBODY!), and have stood alone in a milieu (show biz) where bashing the President was a mark of being "hip" and intelligent.
However.
If these two Border Patrol Officers are NOT pardoned, it will be the FINAL BETRAYAL.
I have just about had it.

Terri... Thanks for bringing the link back. I have sent yet another email, and this makes probably about a dozen since the case was first disclosed. This time I personally worded it rather than use the provided stock. Maybe in that way it might get past the "bulk mail" censors! :pfft:
I, too, pray for President Bush and his family and his advisors. God has been exceedingly good to this nation in keeping us free. I pray also that God will show him the compassion to reunite these two courageous BP agents with their families at least by Christmas.
I believe that President Bush has done some very dumb things in his last two years, but he is working with a dumb Congress. I know! Why didn't he veto a lot of this expansive government legislation? I think it is explained by over-exposure to D.C. Must be something toxic in their water! :D

Woe unto the Republican Party if Bush fails to pardon these two Americans, Campean and Ramos, and Obama does. Whew!

What the hell?! Bush just pardoned four people convicted of cocaine use/sale (okay one just had their sentence commuted) but wtf is a guy like John Edward Forte doing out of jail even though he attempted to sell over 5 kilos of cocaine. Why does he get a second chance but the guy who got arrested down the street with a small amount of coke (like a gram or two from the police report) , worked 40 hours at min wage not get one?
I'm not saying the guy who got arrested near me should get a second chance but why do these guys who are selling huge amounts of drugs get second chances?!
