WASHINGTON (AP) -- Over a two-year campaign, Barack Obama laid out a vision for the nation's future in soaring speeches that enthralled his audiences. With his victory in the presidential election on Tuesday, those goals will collide with daunting realities.

President Obama will inherit a budget deficit that many analysts say could hit a trillion dollars for the first time in history, severely crimping any promises for tax cuts or spending on new programs. He faces a diving economy that has traumatized Americans trying to buy a home, pay for college or plan for retirement. And he'll confront the complexities of trying to extricate U.S. forces from Iraq, and a resurgent conflict in Afghanistan. A look at Obama's campaign promises and the challenges that stand in their way:

All we can HOPE for is that this man surrounds himself with smart people. People who have a less narrow view of America.

Obama has inherited more problems than he will know what to do with.

He can't avoid the real problems that will take affirmitive action.

He won't be able to tap dance around these as he did during his campaign.

And "Words" won't have the power of salvation he thinks they have. There's not much magic there. Just because you say STOP won't keep you from getting run over.

BHO can not walk off the stage, or tell others their questions are off limits. I knew from the start BHO's tax relief and new spending plan did not balance. Now BHO, you will have to answer to the American people!

When Obama totally screws up, his media pals will find some way to blame Republicans.

It's going to be a L O N G four years!

All them media types had better have all the facts when they try to lay his failures on the REpubs, because they are going to get letters, phone calls and email, so high they will think twice before they try to put the blame on any body other than Obama, just like they did GWB.I am not going to lay down and let them run over us any more. I have ticked off quite a few during this election cycle, and heard back from some. Most just take the crit. and move on, but there are a ew who take it prsonal, and return your mail. There is one writer in Atlanta that has got a few emails from me, and some of you know who she is. she didn't like some of my mail, but it made me try harder.

Well Barry, you dazzled some with your brilliance, snowed some with your coolness but
failed to baffle some of us with your BS so what do you do now? Don't think voting present will do it. Playing President without any responsibility must have been fun. Well you have the tiger by the tail now and better hang on tight or get bitten on the butt.
