Being brand new to GOPUSA, I am not sure of where to post.(?)
I would like to know what ever happened to the idea of a standard X% to be paid by all in income tax.
Sounded like a great idea to me especially when I read that big money makers paid less income tax than most small time earners???

Hi Kodiak and welcome. Since you didn't have an article and we don't have an active thread on this topic at the moment you posted in the right place. Good job!

Tax reform has been pretty much lost in this election.

That said, I'm not sure why you think that big earners aren't paying their share.

Take a look at who pays most of the federal income tax here at the National Taxpayer's Union. (http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=6)

Terri, thank you for your response. Maybe I have not seen the stats that you provided. Still, what ever happened to that idea of a standard %, 10, 12 or whatever?
Total income before any deduction, or loop holes?

Terri, do you feel that the IRS tax code is past due for an overhaul?

I feel that the Fair Tax, that some have considered, should be looked at more closely, and the present Federal Income System scrapped all together.
