:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:

So! Big topic of the day! Favre traded to the Jets! :D

“From all I read, if it doesn't work out with the Packers, I hope he finds a team. We have to remember, Joe Montana actually ended his career in Kansas City. Nobody really remembers that. They remember him as a 49er. Johnny Unitas actually ended his career in San Diego, Joe Montana in – Joe Namath in Los Angeles. This could work out for everybody.” ~ Condoleeza Rice :D

Republican House members say they will continue their revolt right up till the Democrat convention which begins on August 25th, I think.

Suddenly, we have talk of a Hillary challenge at the Dem Convention. I think popcorn has been sold out and is now being imported from abroad.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.)physically shoved a cameraman out of his house yesterday. Things must be getting hot in TN. :fire:

Israel has purchased 90 F-16I fighter jets that can carry enough fuel to reach Iran. They are growing tired of being constantly threatened with annihilation. :uzi:

A 6-foot-tall, 250-pound mail carrier in Seattle is demanding that kilts be added to the official uniform. Visualize it.

Quotes of the Day: “Nancy Pelosi has said no to a vote on a comprehensive energy bill. Madam Speaker, get off your book tour … I find it incredible that the American public can’t hear what’s going on in the House of Representatives because Nancy Pelosi chose to turn off the lights and microphones rather than have an up-or-down vote on a comprehensive energy plan,” ~ Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) to cheers from tourists on the floor of the House yesterday

“Nancy Pelosi, We’re Here, Where are You?” ~ John Shadegg's sign on the floor of the House

“This Republican hoax is unworthy of the serious debate we must have to reduce the price at the pump and promote energy independence,” ~ Nancy Pelosi, not in the House

I read that quote from Condoleeza Rice at least three times. I don't think she can remember where Joe Namath Montana finished his career ... neither can I. I think Otto Graham finished up with the Cleveland Browns.

The Jets didn't need a marquee name to sell more seats; there aren't any more seats to sell. They need a quarterback who can play an entire season. Chad Pennington has been so injury prone that he only played about half a season in each of his years as starting Jets quarterback.

I love Rush Limbaugh's new mantra: "You can't inflate your way out of this problem".

I read that both as a devastating shot at the Obama campaign and a jab the weak dollar, bailout addicted, tax rebate posturing administration, congress, and Federal Reserve Board.

Looks like good weather today, a bit cooler with a very light breeze. I think I'll go down to the range and sight in the new RWS .177 air rifle. 1200fps with the new, environmentally friendly, unleaded, supersonic PBA pellets!

Yeah, Nancy, you & your worthless buddies going on vacation will sure lower prices at the pump & promote energy independence.

Reality & Nancy Pelosi are total strangers.

Sure, Nancy, you know you are right and everyone else is wrong, and there are probably at least a half dozen others who would agree with you.

How can anyone with a lick of brains possibly want our country to be led by her and BO??

Sunshine in Ozland today with rain later (they say) but we can't control it one way or another.

Bet he'll change his mind on a cold, windy, day!

Bret will have to show the Packers how to win a ball game even if it's with another team.

Go Bret!

Nuisance Nancy still don't get it. Leaving the job early, ignoring the solution, expecting the problem to disappear, proves she suffers greatly from The Ostrich Syndrome.

No use telling her to clean the sand out of her ears when she returns; she never listens anyway.

August is rapidly melting away and soon another year, another election, another president. I've crossed everything but my eyes hoping that we elect the right one.

Have a pleasant, properous, day everyone and don't let the Democrats get you down.

How can there be a debate when she refuses to allow one? Nancy, you are being :twohead:. I just hope voters see how wrong headed you are.

Took :tails: and :boy: over to meet their new cousin last night. They were surprised to see just how small a newborn :baby: is.

Pretty fair. Certainly cheaper and quieter than a .22, and with that 1200fps pellet, a reassuring "crack" and a pretty flat trajectory at 25 yards. My only complaint -- and a minor one at that -- is the break-barrel, single shot action. My objective was not to put more than100 shots through it today, anyway. I also missed the smell of cordite.

I've got to have a small adjustment made to my old Weaver scope, but when that's done I'll go back to try the 50 and perhaps the 100 yard range.

Typical August day in my typical corner of typical Paradise........

I finally feel human again. I was out of pain meds and have been for two weeks. I've been able to handle it until the past three days, I have hardly slept and the pain has been over the top. Normally I drive myself but yesterday Kid wanted to know my next pain appointment, she was very concerned. She insisted on driving me this morning, which meant she had to get up very early to fight the traffic over the bridge both ways. I musta looked pretty bad, as bad as I felt, cuz without my saying much, the staff was nicer than usual. Even Nurse Ratched who treats me like a street junkie popped into my cubicle, wanting know how bad was I and did I need a warm blanket, since I was bent over with my head on my knees (sometimes that gives relief). "no, thanks, Cathy, it's just a really bad day, I'm sorry that I'm not real perky today." I try to be cheerful, even to Cathy, because these nurses deal with people in pain all day long and many people in pain can be nasty to anyone close at hand. My blood pressure was stroke level. Doc came in, "Doc, right now, you with yer big old needles make you the most attractive man on the planet to me!" Amazing, as soon as the anesthetic was completely in me, my blood pressure just plopped to normal. Made me happy and Doc happy, "It doesn't work that way with everyone," he said. Got my meds for the fibro and I'm ready to take on the world.

And this serious demonstration is a hoax HOW? What's a hoax is that you and yer Democrats on vacation, and book signing tours are in power, and pretending you care about the people who put you there.

Kilts, huh? No, I don't want to visualize it, particularly if the guy plans on going commando. yucky poo.

You GO, Israel!

a little pollution and back to work!

Hi gang! Back from the Land of Virus Destroyers. Didn't have to pay this time. Apparently they didn't fix it properly last time. Also, they put me on army time, so shape up!!

Liked your ad RW. Sorry you had such a bad time with pain management. That must be horrible!

How about one with a Nancy Pelosi imitator voice-over, giving instructions on how to turn everything off in the House, the last one to go are the lights and then there's a cigarette lighter flame snapped on which focuses on the sign "Nancy Pelosi, we're here. Where are you?" The end.

Not to worry about popcorn. While my computer was in the hospital I ordered another batch. The ship will hit San Francisco next Monday.

Welcome back, Charie---good to see you!!

Seems the day isn't complete if we don't see you post!!

Going to post this video HERE (http://republicanleader.hou se.gov/Blog/) of the C-span video of the Republicans in the house today!

Good thing to send to all your liberal, as well as conservative friends! Of course, our congressman, such as he is, is a :jacka: None of them are there, but John Boehner has sent them invitations to join them!

I hope Pelosi's on the wharf when the popcorn ship hits San Francisco.

Charie, it is good to see your font again.

Rain is promised, rain does not happen, this has been the story here for weeks, :( It got very http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/16/16_4_48.gif (http://www.smileycentral.co m/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZC xdm529MDUS) an hour ago with a little rumble, but if you were not looking outside at that moment you would have missed the few drop of rain, We did not even get enough it get the sidewalk wet, not even close. :( The Temperature has been in the upper 70's with a nice breeze. Looking at Accuweather, we could have some http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/16/16_4_37.gif (http://www.smileycentral.co m/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZC xdm529MDUS) heading our way.

Hi everyone. :wavey:

It has been a busy day.

This morning, I had a hair appointment. This afternoon, I had an appointment with my realtor. I looked at three condos.

On Saturday afternoon, my sister from Tallahassee will be coming over to take a look at them.

Welcome back Charie. :wavey: Danny has been a good  while you were gone.

Off to Guy's. He's making some kinda Yugoslavian dish. I had a snack, tho. Yugoslavian and Croatian food has so much fat and black pepper in it....not to my taste. But I'll taste it and tell him what a good, good Yugoslavian cook he is.

Se you all tomorrow.

I am really tired of hearing her name.... I saw her a few times on her recent book tour. Jon Stewart asked her about why she wont let a vote on drilling occur, her response was "I cant let bush get away with that" What?!?! It's amazing we all let her live in her delusional world...

Good Evening GOPUSA Forum:

A clear, sunny day till about 6:30PM. Now we have a "freak" shower. Skies got dark and several downpours. High was 80 degrees and has dropped to about 70 degrees since rain.
About 1/2 inch of rain in a 1-hour period!!

A slow day of commerce.

Rush Limbaugh had a great show today. See:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com

for details. A 3-hour "educational" show.

Pelosi has "lost her marbles", but I don't think
she had any in the first place.

Can't stand to hear Obama's name any more.
Makes me want to "PUKE" every time it is mentioned.

About 7:35PM EDT here...

BYE FOR NOW!!!

Just looked at Accuweather, it looks like it is about over, I do not hear the rain anymore, it must be real light if at all. That was fast! At least we had rain. The last rain we recieved was on July 21st, this gave us 1/2".

Just heard a lady from Israel on the MarkLevin show say that, if it looks like Obama is going to be elected, they will have to bomb Iran before he becomes president! GOD FORBID! So, in Israel, they are hoping for a McCain win! Wish Americans would be more positive about it!

Then, a doctor, who had formerly lived in Canada, called and was just fixing to explain WHY we didn't want the :jacka: plan of medicine when it was time for the show to end, unfortunately! Anyway, he's also thinking it may possibly be Hillary!

Just thought I'd pass that info along!

I just popped in to say hi to everyone, and to thank you for removing that picture of Obama out of the corner of the screen. It was making me sick! Unfortunately, the picture that has replaced it is making me just as sick. I hope he doesn't stay long either. But, both men are certainly full of themselves.

Latest bag order is done! :gag:
My new Singer CG and my 31-year-old Singer Stylist are both going to the shop tomorrow, since I have to go run around anyway.
I still have 2 functioning machines here, including the one I got for $1, so I can do some projects of my own over the weekend.
The old Singer may not be fixable, I plan to ask the service tech what it will cost, then make the decision from there.
I am thinking about another Singer CG, the advanced model this time. The one I have is the basic model. It is nice, runs at a faster tempo than most machines and isn't scared of thick spots.
Glad to see you're getting rain Candles!! Will pray for more. We have been thru so many summers of that, watching rain go by over Ludington and Kalamazoo, while we stayed dry as an old bone.
We got a good little thunderbumper last night, and a brief pop-up shower today. Could use more, but we'll take what we got.
Pelosi sells 2737 copies of her book
