:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:

ICH BIN EIN HYPOCRITE!

I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions. ~ Barack Obama

Obama goes to the Western Wall and Berlin, Germany and McCain goes to Berlin, Ohio and to Aspen to meet the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama? C'mon. I thought McCain got a new staff that was supposed to awaken his campaign. IF he's coming to Colorado then why not go to Rifle and talk to natives about shale oil and jobs? :banghead: Btw, someone should tell them that Dolly is over and they go to oil rig now. :banghead:

The visit to Berlin cost just over 3/4 of a million dollars with Germany paying half. I hope they enjoyed that speech. But don't worry. You're paying too. Big story about the Secret Service needing more money today. :ugh:

The media won't tell you but Obama's big crowd was setup by two very popular bands who performed just before he spoke. We've seen him do that before in Oregon, I think it was.

I hope someone is making a McCain ad with this photo even as I type. Shot of the trip! (http://atlasshrugs2000.type pad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/07/shot-of-the-d-1.html) :str:

McCain is making gains in polls in Colorado and Minnesota. Our Colorado Republican Senate candidate has closed with the moonbat Udall. It seems Colorado voters care more about gas prices than they do about Berlin. Let's hope they keep the energy buzz going. Drill Now!

There's a report that John McCain is getting only 23% support from Latinos to Obama's 66%. That's very ironic and would be downright funny if this election wasn't so important. :it:

But it's all over anyway according to Obama's campaign. They are already working on their transistion team. No kidding. It was revealed yesterday. Guess they never heard that old saying about counting chickens. :chdance

There's a new Sarah Palin for VP website. (http://www.palinforamerica. com/) Nice!

Quotes of the Day: "Anyone who saw Barack Obama at Berlin's Siegessäule on Thursday could recognize that this man will become the 44th president of the United States. He is more than ambitious -- he wants to lay claim to become the president of the world." ~ Der Spiegel, seeing clearly.

“I did ask some people as they were leaving what they thought. Everybody said good, good. But I was surprised that there wasn't this sort of euphoria afterwards, given how many people had come to listen and how much it had been anticipated.” ~ Christian Amanpour, CNN

"What, what do you make of this? Let's take another bite here because it was quite a speech. You have to judge for yourself but the speech had its thrill factor, certainly once again." ~ Chris Matthews with the tingly leg. :str:

"I'd love to give a speech in Germany ... a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in, but I'd much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate ... for the office of presidency," ~ John McCain

"[H]e could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers. Obama could not bring any media. Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama's visit. We didn't know why" the request to visit the wounded troops was withdrawn. "He (Obama) was more than welcome. We were all ready for him." ~ Official at Landstuhl Medical Center at Ramstein, Germany on Obama's decision not to bother with wounded troops. :angst:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. ~ The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

"...but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." ~ Article VI, Section III of the Constitution of the United States of America :flag17:

“I would ask all of you remember each and every day this is the land of the free because of the brave.” ~ Major General Mark Graham, Post Commander, Fort Carson

God Bless our great country. :flag19: May Freedom ever ring!

Good Morning GOP USA!!! Behold, I bring good tidings of great joe... :f_coffee:
Gotta finish up one last bag and ship order today, then there's the next order to get going on, and the next, and DD's gown to bustle, and her SIL-to-be is coming Mon. for a fitting, after which I will be able to finish her gown....
I put a bunch of green beans in the freezer this week, which will be nice this winter. Mom is canning them, Hubby and I prefer them frozen. He doesn't care so much for veggies cooked to mush--he likes them a bit al dente. Good for him!
Also took Mom and Dad to a couple of yard sales near here yesterday. I found a little Brother sewing machine for $1--couldn't believe my eyes!! Lady assured me that it works, so you betcha I grabbed. I will not pass up a sewing machine for $1!! It's there for backup in case my good Singer CG breaks down or is in the shop for a tuneup, and if nothing else I keep it threaded with white so I can sew tags on the bags without having to change over the thread on my main machine. How handy!!!
Obama just couldn't help insulting our Country, could he? How strange, that two Ivy-League educated people who are raking in the $$ and live in an exclusive community, could feel so terrible about this land of opportunity. Even stranger, that they should look other people in the face and tell them not to aspire to what they have.
Oh, of course, the "middle-class-ness" that others are not supposed to aspire to equals self-reliance, and hopefully reliance on God, instead of helpless dependency on the nanny gov't.
I am sick of hearing what a terrible country the USA is, and that it needs a socialist gov't to make it all better.
M-L, I agree with you--the signs of the times are all around us. This election could be the beginning of some difficult times.
"[H]e could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers. Obama could not bring any media. Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama's visit. We didn't know why" the request to visit the wounded troops was withdrawn.
emph SS
Because he couldn't use it for a campaign commercial, that's why.
Time to get stitchin'.... Have a lovely day y'all!
Blessings,
Sewing Susie :usflag22: :bible: still clingin'....

It's a beautiful day in my Paradise neighborhood.

Obama is gonna lose any military votes he may have had by not visiting the wounded men and women who sacrificed to allow him to visit ANYWHERE.

So, he's got the transition team all planned out, has he? How many women, Black or White and are they gonna be paid the same as the men?

Michelle was here, she didn't get as much press as I thought she would, but then again, we had a very popular policeman gunned down by a maniac, and that's been in the news. That along with housing prices dropping even more......Michelle is small potatoes compared to all that.

Kid took me to lunch yesterday. She brought her guitar and after lunch we came home and she sang and played for me for two hours! WHAT a voice, two full octaves, and she's self taught on the guitar. NEVER any money for voice or music lessons but lotsa money for diamond rings, fancy dinners and fancy clothes for the Old Goat's playgirls...sigh. But Kid did good, I loved it. She's writing songs now as well as writing words and her lyrics are just as powerful as her written words.

OK, a little pollution and back to work....

He will do the same as John Kerry did for the military vote. The military vote will be disallowed.

Leave it to the Brits to identify who Obama thinks he is. :D

He ventured forth to bring light to the world. (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=514 08)

What an article! This man has a great vivid imagination and knows how to write enormously lucid fiction which is very intertaining.

But his written "painting" of what Obama is percieved to be, by many, is really an empty hologram to be played before the crowd.

When the show's over the people leave with nothing but "showbiz" promises and no "prize" in the bottom of their cracker jack box.

It's a beautiful summer day in CT, not too hot, nor too chilly, with the :sunspin: shining brightly through the leaves on the trees outside my windows. I wish I could stall this weather for a while.

Took a little ride up into the mountains of MA to go out to dinner last night. We ate dinner in a nice restaurant overlooking the CT river valley with mountains in the background. It was about 30 miles from here. Sometimes you just have to enjoy life and gas prices be damned. :D

Found out :tails: has been sending text messages on my cell phone when I got the bill yesterday. She is now forbidden to use the cell phone for any reason. I told her she must work off the additional $9.00 it cost me. She has been out scrubbing the kitchen floor on her hands and knees and doing a few other things to get herself out of trouble.

He is more than ambitious -- he wants to lay claim to become the president of the world." ~ Der Spiegel, seeing clearly.
Ahhhhh, seems at least some of the Germans see partially through our 'pretender to the throne.'

“I did ask some people as they were leaving what they thought. Everybody said good, good. But I was surprised that there wasn't this sort of euphoria afterwards, given how many people had come to listen and how much it had been anticipated.” ~ Christian Amanpour, CNN
Perhaps many came for the concert and just stayed for the speech.

I hope the lasting impression for the American people is that Obama failed to visit the military even though he extended his visit by a few hours.

We were out and about this morning and I noticed the two closest service stations are down to $3.79 for the lowest grade. We haven't seen that for awhile.

Got the mail and see that McCain sent me a bumpersticker and request for a donation. Like that's going to happen.

Are any of you sporting McCain bumperstickers? I'm sure not seeing many around here.

I see Obama stickers when I go into the old downtown area and the hippie/tourist area but not many of them elsewhere either.

Good afternoon,

We got back from Joe's last radiation treatment. They did a bronchoscopy today and took another looksee. The tumor was not completely gone (although none of the cells are considered cancerous now) so he decided to do one last seed treatment just to make sure they got it all. His lung is re expanded and otherwise he is doing great. We will redo the PET scan in three months. At that time we will decide whenther or not to biopsy the kidney depending on any growth.

Our gasoline was priced at 3.99 at the closest station but we did find a Walmart where it was only 3.88. We are in the middle of our tourist season and they are going to get as much as they possibly can.

We don't do bumper stickers at all. If I tried to give to every one of the candidates who are asking me for money I would go broke. Now, if I ever win the lottery I would re consider.

I can't tell you how many emails I have gotten from people who have relatives in Iraq and Afganistan, and their stories are so different from what the media is telling us and how they are covering Obama's trip. I tend to believe these emails rather than the press. Maybe someone somewhere in the media will tell the truth preferably before the elections.

I noticed that the Messiah didn't go see the troops at Landstuhl AFB because they wouldn't let him make it a campaign session. And, personally I think he had a large number of people in Berlin due to the two rockbands.

I waited to see if anyone would ask how far the lines extended full of people who wanted to talk to BHO at the different military bases he visited, but no one did. I wonder about the video they shoot as well. I think they only show favorable things and I don't think they do a full pan of any of the visits so we will never know how many actually showed up.

LM, my Grandson has to pay for his own cell phone (10 bucks a month). He has missed a few months so it gets taken away. He gets an allowance equal to his age so he has had to learn how to budget. Gramma is going to send him a little extra cash though.

Weather here is hot and humid. The grass grows as you watch it I think. We get little sprinkles almost every day.

Was up early and think I will go take a nap.

No...I have a Veterans for McCain bumper sticker but I won't display it. I displayed a Bush sticker back when he was running and experienced a lot of road rage. Nearly side swiped.

:tails: has worked off the phone bill by cleaning all day long. It's the hardest she's worked so far. :)

I am contemplating giving her an allowance; the problem is.... how much? I want it to cover school lunches, some spending money, and all clothes except her school uniforms. In addition, I want to make sure she saves a little of it for more expensive things she will want for herself. If she needs something before she has the full amount, I told her I would extend credit to her but she will have to repay it with interest. I want her allowance to reflect real life just as it does for us.

She's a child who has to immediately spend her money on candy or whatever else she wants at the moment so she needs to learn how to budget and save for the future.

:boy: spends some, but saves most of his money. His bank account is higher than hers but she doesn't mind so I have to try and wake her up to reality.

We had Bush stickers on one car but we were very careful where we parked it. We never saw any road rage but there were lots and lots more Bush stickers here than Kerry ones.

Good afternoon everyone. I was on earlier this morning but the wife wanted me to take her to breakfast. Gotta keep the wife happy.:) I'm glad to see Obama draw the line somewhere to keep from breaking any campaign laws. Still trying to figure out why we are paying for the rest of his campaign trip.

I have seen a total of two Hussein sticklers and zero sticklers for McCain.

I do see "W" stickers every day on a lot of vehicles.

When I drive in the hood I will still see Kerry stickers, but the love for Hussein Obama isn't quite visible yet. That could change though..

We are having another beautiful day in my part of the mitten, :sunspin: in the low 80's we could use a little rain.

We gave our kids their lunch money every Monday morning for the week. As for their cloths we paid for it unless it was something they really wanted when we were not around. We made a deal with our kids, a $1 for every A if it made it to the bank we would match it, but if they went down in a grading period they paid us $.50. If they made all A's for the year they got a $50 bonus, if this made its way to the bank they got another $50. Both kids had money for college. :)

I hope the word gets out how Obama turned his back on the military overseas, he is not their friend.

Hi everyone. :wavey:

I haven't been around posting in here for the past couple of days. Although, I have been reading.

Yesterday and the day before, I was preparing for my last exam in OST 2335.

This afternoon and this evening, I took my exam. We were allowed two attempts. I made a 70 C on my first attempt. I made an 80 B on my second attempt. Their is a chance I will earn an A in this course.

It looks like I will earn two A's this term. I will not know until next week.

Thank you everyone for your support.

I have seen Obama 08 bumper stickers and a sprinkling of McCain stickers. Yesterday, I received a McCain bumper sticker. I am afraid if I place it on my car, some nutcase will destroy my vehicle.

I am not a big fan of McCain, but he is a whole lot better than the alternative, in fact Obama is not worthy to wipe McCains shoes.

Good Evening GOPUSA Forum:

A cloudy, pleasant 77 degree day here in SW Ohio.

A slow day of commerce.

Rush Limbaugh had a great show today. See:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com

for details. "Open Line Friday" today!!

Paid $3.52 a gallon for gas today. That was nice compared to the $4.08 a gallon paid the
last time gas was purchased.

Seen a smattering of Obama 08 and McCain stickers today. Seeing more "DRILL HERE,DRILL
NOW, PAY LESS" stickers on alot of cars in
this part of SW Ohio.

About 9:25PM EDT here...

BYE FOR NOW!!!

I thought I smelled cookies! Nothing like a nice pot o' decaf to go with them and the ice cream. Yum! :cloud9:
Katy, keep up the good work!! and  Post when you can, we love to have you hangin' around. Even if you don't bring goodies.
There are still a few Kerry stickers here, and lots of folks very bitter about the vile horrible evil criminal Bush getting a second term, when obviously he should have been taken out and shot long ago. Sheesh. Get a life. These are the same :moonbat: s who are convinced that the Republicans have ruined Michigan, and the dumdems are the only ones who can save us. That old prophecy about the enemy raging in the hearts of men is coming more and more true, as time goes by. I am not sporting any bumper stickers yet. The one I got from McCain is the perfect size for a pattern piece for a small keychain bag I make, though :pfft:
I don't know if I could handle some :jackass: pulling stunts on me on the highway just because he hates Conservatives. :str: :angst:
Candles, we could use the rain too. Looks like Charie's getting it instead of us, and Upper Michigan is getting socked too. Maybe later tonight....
Got order of bags mailed out this afternoon. Next order is in progress.
I'm working very hard on getting my gait back to normal. I can walk almost completely normally with the cane, but I still gimp and waddle a bit without it. I don't want to put added stress on already stressed arthritic joints. Hubby watched me walk along today and was pleased with the progress, he is hoping for that Bus trip to the UP next month and wants me able to get around well enough to do some running and playing together.
:sleepy: time to :cane: down the hall to  Nitey-nite y'all!

Candles, thank you for your suggestions. I'll take them under consideration too. That might be a way for her to get a little 'extra money'.
