:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:
Good morning! :sun1:
OPEC is promising an unlimited oil price hike if Iran is attacked.
The National Guard has been deployed in California for the first time in 30 years.
Denver is going to give the homeless free transit tickets, free tickets to the zoo and other attractions in order to get them out of sight for the DNC convention. Now I ask you, who could tell the difference between the homeless, a liberal protestor and the average Democrat delegate? I think they would fit right in but Denver's mayor wasn't named Hickenlooper for nothing.
And that is only one of a multitude of  things going on today. You'll find them in the forum.
If you have some time to read there are two rather long but worthwhile articles today. Cliff Kincaid is writing about the Fox News coverup of the rest of the Jesse Jackson tape (Manipulating The Media For Obama) (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=509 91) and Paul Weyrich points out the danger our republic is under from the judiciary. (History and the Judiciary) (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=509 90).

"I will never back down in defending a woman's right to choose. That's what's at stake. Senator McCain has made it abundantly clear that he wants to appoint justices like Roberts and Alito -- and that he hopes to see Roe overturned. I stand by my votes against confirming Justices Roberts and Alito." ~ Barack Obama, July 10, 2008

Good Morning GOP USA!!! Behold, I bring good tidings of great joe :f_coffee: :coffeeputer:
A muggy morning in my part of the Mitten. Hubby and I went out early in the morning and picked the last of the red tart cherries from our tree. The gophers beat us to them again--I bought some stuff that our local horticulturalist, Rick Vuyst, (http://thankyouverymulch.co m/) recommended, called Bonide Repels-All--obviously didn't work. I am going to e-mail the company and tell them their product didn't do the job, and Mr. Vuyst about what else I can do. We lost enough of our fruit crop to freezes this year, it really hurts to lose that much fruit to the varmints.

Drill here, drill now, pay less!
Time for my morning commute! It's still pretty slow, but at least I'm not getting down to my workshop on my fantail anymore :D
Have a :happydance: day y'all!
Blessings,
Sewing Susie :sunspin: :usflag22:

That leaves us but one choice. Cut off ALL supply routes for the necessities of life and surround them so tightly they can hardly breath and see of that will loosen up the price a bit!
Two can play that game OPEC!
Do I hear any drilling in the background yet?
Where are the cars that run on water?
Why are we dragging out feet?
This is embarrassing for as great a nation as ours!
Why do we wait until disaster is at our doorstep before we react and DO something?
This oil situation is becoming very irritating especially when we sit around with our brains turned in the off position acting as if we had all the time in the world to cure the problem.
We need some movers, shakers, and butt kickers NOW!

Good morning everyone! Woke up to a pleasantly cool morning. Not supposed to get too hot today with temps only in the mid 80s. A good day to get something extra accomplished.
:tails: had tryouts for soccer last night. Don't know if she made the team, but she's pretty confident.

I know they can increase or decrease the amount of oil pumped, but I thought the commodity market determines the price.

Good morning everyone. It's a nice clear cool 80 deg. morning here in the California desert. Some of the smoke has cleared up. At least for a while. My point about the quote this morning is that I have believed for some time that we should shut down all the power plants in America for 30 days just to see who the real environmentalist are. But I don't see to many people jumping on that bandwagon. So unfortunately we have to work with these people until there is a better solution.
Last straw

Regrettably Darwin... the environmentalists don't necessarily want to be without power, they want people to be forced to use their high priced energy power alternatives.
Look at the cost of water generator power right now and compare those prices to the cost of the windmill generators. Both the water and wind are free, but the difference in cost per kWh between the two is definitely based on cost benefit of the windmill owner.
Oh yeah, the water generated power is killing the reproduction of spawning fish and endangering several species - and on and on.

Barack Obama is currently holding a town hall meeting at a local school. I've again noted two things about him: 1) his vaunted speaking ability suffers noticeably when he isn't using a prepared speech and 2) he can talk for a long time without saying anything of substance (but still get thunderous applause).

I agree with you whole heartedly. And that is part of the misdirection and propaganda that liberals use. I don't buy for a minute the charade that congress and the oil companies put on but I also agree that liberals are standing in the way in order to play the blame game with conservatives. We will see how well it works come November.

Actually, some of those homeless may be some that Bill Clinton put out of work himself when he create so many jobs under his administration. These people had jobs that were lost when he almost destroyed the military. They were making good money with benefits and went to minimum wage jobs without benefits.
I'm late in reporting from my very warm corner of Paradise...
Guy enjoyed dinner out. He almost didn't go because, well, he's gained some weight over the past six months or so, and NOTHING fit. He scrounged around in his closet and found a lovely polo shirt and some shorts that "USED to be too big!" He was outraged over the prices at the restaurant (so was I for his favorite, New York strip) but we had a lovely tournedos of beef with smashed red potatoes and broccoli-rabe. Dessert was creme brulee with a candle in it and "Happy Birthday" done in raspberry coulet around the plate. Cute, huh? I told the waitress I was to get the check cuz it was his birthday. All was good, and reasonable. I had been saving for this for a couple months so my budget wasn't dinged badly. Bottle of wine became "on the house," for the birthday boy! Waitress got a nice tip.......
OPEC can darn well eat their oil if they have unlimited prices if war breaks out....there goes an unlimited price on our grain, everytime the price of oil goes up, so should our prices on bushels of whatever we sell 'em. Oil $140 a barrel....grain $145 a bushel....and so on......
Obama scares me........is there a stadium in the world big enuff to hold his ego alone?
A little pollution and back to work...

I have been in and out of the house today, trying not to get too much http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/16/16_4_22.gif (http://www.smileycentral.co m/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZC xdm529MDUS), as I did get a light sun burn on our little get away.

Obama's mouth moves but he really says very little, no plan how he would solve anything.
RW, I'm glad to read that Guy went out to celebrate his birthday with you.
Luckeyme, let us know if :tails: makes it on the soccer team. :crossfingers:
Time to get back outside for awhile again, BBL.

Hi everyone. :wavey:
I am very busy with schoolwork right now. I have two assignments due on Monday.
I have great news!
This morning, I found out I made a 95 A on assignment 10. This is the assignment where I had to evaluate insurance policies. I am  to say the least. This was an extremely tough assignment.
I am performing great on my assignments. I have made outstanding grades on them except for one.
I am on my way to the Geek Speak thread. :wavey:

RW, sounds like a nice dinner with guy.

He's in favor of change. And hope. And high taxes to pay for everything he hopes for and wants to change. Plans? We don't need no stinkin' plans! :hehe:

Good Evening GOPUSA Forum:
A sunny, hot, humid 86 degree day here in SW Ohio. The A/C is on as well as a fan! Low tonight 68 degrees. Another hot one on Saturday!
A "stellar" day of commerce.
Rush Limbaugh had Mark Stein sit in for him today as he was at the dentist. See:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com
for details. He was a "good" SUB!!!!!!!!
Obama should scare all of America. There is no
there there. He speaks eloquently with his scripted "MARXIST" message but is a "buffoon"
with no script. Quite scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
About 8:30PM EDT here in SW Ohio........
BYE FOR NOW!!

I got some work done outside today, but more still needs to be done. We have been getting more rain then normal so the Dahlia are growing tall fast; they need to be staked.
