:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:
:flag17: Today is the 64th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. We honor the sacrifices of all those who have fought to keep us free but especially those brave men who fought and died on the beaches of Normandy (http://www.discover-normandy.info/generalinfo_d_day_be aches.htm).
"Strengthened by their courage, heartened by their value [valor], and borne by their memory, let us continue to stand for the ideals for which they lived and died." ~ President Ronald Reagan
The National D-Day Memorial Foundation (http://www.dday.org/)

Hillary and Obama met at Diane Feinstein's home in DC last night. They say they had a "productive meeting" and leave us to wait for the rumors. At least she has backed off demanding to be VP. Of course the two elephants in the room were Bill and Michelle. This would be such an odd pairing if she does become VP. :str:
Democrats in the Senate are saying they plan no special leadership position for Hillary as a consolation prize. No love there. Poor woman. They say it was Charlie Rangel who pried her fingers off the drapes and brought her down from the curtain rod. :angst:
Obama lost his Hamas endorsement when he assured Jews that he would protect Israel. The quote is below. But he's flip flopped on Jerusalem already. Look for that out in the forum in awhile. :ugh:
But he got William Jefferson's endorsement. Guess it's important to get the crooks on board. :str:
It looks like the much hated Lieberman-Warner bill will go down in flames today. Don't be fooled. This monster will return in the next Congress. :angst:

Quotes of the Day: “We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it. That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.” ~ Obama asking reporter's question about Michelle tape rumors. (Not yet. Just be patient) :D
“My strong feeling is that moving forward, I'm going to need Bill Clinton involved in this [presidential election] process. He still is a transcendent political figure in this country. And I want him involved. And I’ll be looking for his counsel and his advice.” ~ Obama (You'll be sorry)
"We consider the statements of Obama to be further evidence of the hostility of the American administration to Arabs and Muslims. Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates, Obama and McCain, because their policies regarding the Arab-Israel conflict are the same and are hostile to us, therefore we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win," Sami Abu Zuhr, Hamas spokesman.
"And if McCain does not define him as what he is — hey, I have said publicly, and I will again, that unless he proves me wrong, he is a Marxist," ~ Tom DeLay

"...but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." ~ Article VI, Section III of the Constitution of the United States of America

Good morning,
We will be on our way to the hospital for the second seed implant treatment on Joe's lung tumor. We won't be back home until about one o'clock this afternoon.
Then we have a nice weekend during which we may be able to relax a little bit, then something every day next week since will start external radiation. We won't see the oncologist again until all the radiation is done.
I can't say this has been fun. These Doctor's don't coordinate with each other too well. I get copies of everything I can get my hands on.
Welcome to :gopusa: Forum ForTiconderoga. I believe I have been there and if it is the trip I remember I enjoyed it. Drop by for cyber coffee, snacks, and some chat.
Susie, wasn't there a comedian sho used to say "what a revolting turn of events"? I am so sorry to hear about your broken leg and hope it heals rapidly and well. You have a good attitude I think. That always helps.
You know it is funny who you meet at Walmart. I saw the daughter of one of my dearest patients yesterday. I couldn't believe it when she told me her youngest daughter was 46. Makes me feel so old. She said she has 26 great grand children now. Time flies when you are having fun.
Today is the 64th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. We honor the sacrifices of all those who have fought to keep us free but especially those brave men who fought and died on the beaches of Normandy.
I think one of the best renditions of the landing at Normandy is the movie "Saving Private Ryan". So many died. I couldn't watch all of the landing scenes.
I sure would have liked to be a fly on the wall at the meeting at Diane feinstein's home yesterday.
Yeppers, we will have to stay aware on the Warner-Lieberman Climate Bill. They will no doubt try to resurrect it.
Time to get beautiful for the trip to the hospital, especially my hair. See you later. Have a great day!

A very Special D-Day Thank You to our WW2 Vets, whose ranks are thinning every day. Thank You for saving our Planet and our Civilization from Fascism.
May we never forget your Sacrifice and your Courage.

Good Morning GOP USA!!! Anyone up for a cuppa joe?
Another hearty Thank You!!! to all our Veterans here, who have put their lives on the line for our freedom, on this anniversary of D-Day.
81 degrees already here in my part of the Mitten :gag: The sun is shining, the air is very juicy, great setup for some bumpy weather. Prayers for all in the path of bad stuff today, including my fellow Michiganders.
We can get some oppressively sultry summer weather here and there in the Mitten--not quite as bad as out on the Plains, but we have had spells of temp's in the low 100's with dew point at 80, which is a real sauna, and it is a very rare summer around here that passes with few or no days in the 90's. '89 and '92 were like that, in '92 it was because of Mt. Pinatubo. We usually get lots of 90+ degree days. The Lake does help some, it can be 95 in GR and just in the upper 80's at the beach.
We have central air here at home, and an excellent system on the Bus too. Talented Hubby!!!!!
"what a revolting turn of events"?
I seem to remember it as "What a revoltin' development!!" but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, JA!!!
God is still Good, and still Large and In Charge.
Terri, and the rest of you, thanks for all the encouragement :grouphug:
Prayers for Joe and you, and :grouphug: s too.
 Go Tom DeLay!!
Barack is flipfloppin' in true dumdem fashion. Ann Coulter had a great quote about that:
Words mean nothing to liberals. They say whatever will help advance their cause at the moment, switch talking points in a heartbeat, and then act indignant if anyone uses the exact same argument they were using five minutes ago.

Time to rustle up some grub and get busy. Got a GreenLee all cut out and ready to go. Have a super day y'all!
Blessings,

May we never forget your Sacrifice and your Courage.
The VFW/American Legion flag markers are up on the cemeteries in my community and have been since Memorial (Decoration) Day. I think I'll take a walk down to appreciate the memorial and show my thanks and respect.

I want him involved. And I’ll be looking for his counsel and his advice
I’d be careful about taking Bill’s advice. Paula, Monica, Linda, Anna and the rest of the alphabet .
we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win," Sami Abu Zuhr, Hamas spokesman.
Sure, I believe Abu - - as much as I believe Obama when he told the Jews that he would help defend Israel.
Something that liberal horde needs to keep in mind when they are preparing their talking points about President Bush’s failure to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapon, is that President Bush is still commander in chief. George might just decide that if Obama is going to scrape all of our nuclear weapons and give the fissionable material to Iran so that they don’t have to make their own, he will use up some of the ground penetrating bombs around Christmas.

A salute to all the fallen and wounded who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Isn't it sad and also alarming that so many Americans ignore this day or even remember studying about it in class. They don't seem to teach it anymore.
The younger generations don't know who General Douglas McArthur or General Patton is but they know the names of all the young celebrities who like to show off their bodies and wear little or no clothes getting in and out of automobiles.
Obama continues to add more baggage to trail behind for his supposed upcoming presidency and yet the politically "blind" cannot see it.
Guess that's what charisma does for you.
His gathering of notables from the dark side increases and he confesses his lack of political understanding. That should fire off a warning signal to many but it looks like it's being ignored.
Quiz - How many people climbed the New York Times skyscraper yesterday?
I did! I can clear it in a single bound....every time I think of
Obama becoming president I get jumpy!
Have a nice day everyone and try not to think too hard about all the misery we face in the coming months-sigh!

Thank you D-Day veterans. I was only eight years young back then. I suppose there are few of you left.
I don't like war movies because I find myself criticizing scene after scene. Hollywood just don't understand the military. Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers are the only two I care for.

Steelman, you are so right - look what it did for Bill Clinton. The people of this country of ours have really lost it - just think, if Bill Clinton was allowed to run this year he would probably win.

Susie: It was William Bendix as Chester A. Riley ( the Life of Riley) who said : What a revoltin' development THIS is!"
Blame it on age - but I tend to remember that sort of trivia. Hope you are recuperating well!

It is a warm :sun1: muggy day here in my part of the mitten; right now the temp. is 93 degrees, it feels like 94, thank God it is breezy. We are under a tornado watch until 10:00pm.

I love today's cartoon, we can only pray the Dems stay this way.
John McCain was just shown on fox News, one of his lines was, "No New Taxes".

Good afternoon all - Prayers for health and recovery for all who need them. I guess I've missed a lot.
I had the privilege of going to Normandy for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day. It was very moving. Some of the original veterans parachuted again over St. Mare Eglice (not sure I spelled that right). There was a great air show. I'm so grateful to all who participated in any way. The only thing that marred my visit was having to listen to President Clinton at Pont du Hoc. He could not compare to Reagan.
If you ever get the chance to go, take it. We were able to stay at a home on Utah Beach that still had the shell marks and bullet holes on the outside of the home. Ordnance was still washing up on that beach on 50 years later. It's a trip I will never forget.
I'm sorry I've been away so much. I need to catch up. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday, Rockefeller criticized President for being unambiguous about the threat from Saddam.
“There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years. And that may happen sooner if he can obtain access to enriched uranium from foreign sources—something that is not that difficult in the current world. We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."—John Rockefeller, Oct 10, 2002
It is clear that President Bush could not win politically from the first day. The dems all jumped on board and encouraged Bush to invade Iraq and as soon as an American was killed the liberals acted as if they had no idea that anyone might get hurt on either side. Right now the dems are doing their best to get Bush to deal with Iran before he leaves office. There is a lot of talk about how President Bush hasn’t done anything about Iran and Iran is still working on a bomb.
I was just wondering what charges might be filed against Obama for forcing a plane load of reporters to fly to Chicago??

Hi Ya'll,
Been reading every day, but nothing new here so not much to write about.
The heat is still going on and it's hard to stay cool even with the AC running full force.
Have spent part of every day in bed--just weak and can't figure why--everything (my vitals) seem to check out ok--you suppose it's just OLD age?
Susie, don't envy you at all--that's why I keep using a walker--I can walk w/o it, but since I'm here alone all the time and don't always remember to carry the phone, it's just safer, for me, to be safe than sorry.
Posted an article in culture-certainly hope I put it in the right place.
It's going to be interesting to see if the Texas :jacka: convention goes smoothly--most folks in this part of the state are really unhappy about the outcome and, if I'm not mistaken, GW carrried this part of the state big time. The map didn't show that, but most people who call in to the talk show seem really conservative, unless they are an officer of the party.
I AM SO SICK OF HEARING THE NAME OF BO!!
Ya'll have a good evening/night and day tomorrow. :)

Good Evening GOPUSA Forum:
A "Salute" to all the D-Day Veterans in America for their "valor and courage" on June 6, 1944!!You are America's "GREATEST GENERATION".
A hot, humid, sultry 91 degree day here in SW Ohio. Plenty of SW winds to go with the "heat".Just like a "sauna" outside. THANK GOD for A/C!
A moderate day of commerce today.
Rush Limbaugh had a rather "interesting" Open Line Friday today. See:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com
for details. His tribute to 6/6/44 after the 2PM hour brought tears to my eyes. I read about WW2 all the time. A WW2 "history buff" you might call me!! GOD BLESS WW2 Veterans!!
About 8:45PM EDT here in SW Ohio.........
BYE FOR NOW!!!
