In embracing Hamas last week in direct defiance of the wishes of Congress and the President, ex-President Jimmy Carter raised the question of why he was granting precious prestige and credibility to an organization the U.S. government has designated a "foreign terrorist organization" since 1995.

If he was hoping to rekindle a flagging peace process, Carter's trip was doomed to failure; Hamas remains committed to the destruction of the state of Israel. So does this trip merely reflect a tremendous lack of judgment on Carter's part?

Perhaps the answer is more complicated. You see, the Carter Center, the ex-President's not-for-profit research and activist organization, has prospered over the years as a direct result of Arab largesse. Many of these "charitable" interests support Islamic fundamentalism and are vehemently anti-Israel.

Since the Carter Center is a non-profit, all a person from any media has to do is request the tax form 990. By Federal law, it must be produced in its entirety within five calender days.

OR some one may donate even ten cents, and as a donor to the non-profit, may ask for the tax form 990. In that case, the organization must produce it within 20 calender days.

The tax form 990 must list, by law, the sources from which all donations, cash or otherwise, are made. and I DO mean ALL.

This is Journalism 101, why are there conjectures in this article?

I would say that's an understatement. He can't lose what he never had or acquire it by his curent activities which wound up being a "vacation" if nothing else. And nothing else is just what was accomplished.

Carter must have a guilt complex larger than life itself. Too little too late.

Carter is a traitor to his own country and should be held accountable for his actions; pure and simple.
