WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said she would defend gay rights as president and eliminate disparities for same-sex couples in federal law, including immigration and tax policy.
Clinton said states such as New Jersey and Massachusetts are extending rights to gay couples ''and the federal government should recognize that and should extend the same access to federal benefits across the board. I will very much work to achieve that.''
Clinton's comments came in an interview with the Philadelphia Gay News that was posted on its Web site Thursday.
Clinton said she and her husband have many gay friends that they socialize with when they get the chance. ''I've got friends, literally, around the country that I'm close to. It's part of my life,'' she said.

When did Hilary Clinton overlook Natural Law? The last time I checked Constitutional Law could not supersede Natural Law.
Of course, I realize that some people have attractions to people of the same sex, but they do not have to act on those attractions or feelings. Sometimes I feel like physical harming certain people, but I do not ACT on my desires.
Besides often lacking self-control, homosexual relationships are simply unnatural. Gay Marriage should be TOTALLY outside of the question. Yes, I believe we should recognize there are relationships beyond friendship among these people, but it should not be referred to as "marriage." A civil union okay, but not marriage. And of course tax breaks and what not...
Which brings me to my last point... It is not marriage if you can not have sex with each other and reproduce with each other... The last time I checked two guys couldn't reproduce together and neither could two women. Plus homosexuals would not be around with heterosexuals! And adoption among these couples should be beside the question. There are already children how have grown up around homosexual parents, such as two mothers, and they are totally screwed up socially.
America needs to set boundaries for homosexual couples before our whole country is screwed up.

I guess all that "Rocky" imagery is old hat after, what?, two days?
Clinton said she and her husband have many gay friends that they socialize with when they get the chance. ''I've got friends, literally, around the country that I'm close to. It's part of my life,'' she said.
I don't doubt it one bit, at least as far as the Senator is concerned, though I'm not sure she speaks for Bill on this particular issue.
No ... wait .... I had no idea that Monica's Lewinsky's boyfriend and his wife did all that much socializing any more. So nice to see them getting back together with their homosexual friends "whenever they get the chance."
Maybe she'd like to have one of her televised, Ron Popiel-like, over produced "town meetings" with some of her "friends" that she's "close to".

First of all, let's settle the question of semantics that, while seeming trivial, do matter. Gay people are happy, well adjusted, carefree, and fun loving people. The people in question are homosexuals - maladjusted social misfits who adopted this lifestyle (no, they weren't born that way) and who can be redirected with kind and patient therapy. In the vast majority of cases, they're rebelling against some real or imagined slight they received somewhere along the way. The rest simply don't have their heads screwed on straight.
In addition, these people aren't looking for 'rights', they're looking for special privileges.
Shrillary is jumping on this bandwagon for only one reason: she needs the support of every single 'victim' group she can find, regardless of how loony they are.
Let's keep in mind that the number of hard core homosexuals totals about 2% of the population. They're loud and want to rewrite the dictionary but they're still advocating an aberrant and destructive lifestyle of their choice.

Now I know why they are called gay. They are happy! The other bunch have chosen a lifestyle of their choosing, and need to see a doctor, so he could prescribe some salt -peter for him or them, and the problem would be solved. No marriage, unions or any other close relationships, except the ones who like that kind of life.As far as Bill and Hillary, I doubt bill has any of those types, but hillary, now that is something else.
why does she wear pants all the time?

I heard today, Hillary was going to ask Rosie ODonnell to be VP.
Almost a female ticket.
