John (an Eagle from Chicago) and I arrived at the library at 1830 hours
where we introduced ourselves to Beverly Perlson of the Band of Mothers and
her forces. I estimate that our numbers were between 30 and 40 patriots. After
a short while, a member of the opposition forces appeared to tell us the agenda for
the evening which was to be a showing of the WS1 (Winter Soldier 1) film followed by a
discussion. He was questioned by Beverly and others concerning the agenda,
what his military experience was, and why he felt it necessary to show such a
film at a public library to which he responded that he had no military
experience but that his Father was a veteran of WWII. He also claimed to be an
“elected official” which he later amended to “elected official of the
Public Library”. Members of the opposition continued to filter in through
the cordon created by our coalition in the entry hall of the Library. At one
point one of them was introduced to us as an Iraqi Veteran and a member of the
IVAW. Under questioning, it was revealed that he had been stationed in Kuwait.
Further research on Friday revealed that he is Jason M. Wallace and is also
running for Congress from Illinois. The below is from the IVAW website
Wallace is also listed as the secretary for the Central Illinois chapter 83 of
the IVAW. He's a member of the "Green Party".

"Jason M. Wallace

Branch of service: Air National Guard of the United States (ANG)
Unit: 182 AW
Rank: SSgt
Home: Normal, Illinois
Served in: Peoria, IL; San Antonio, TX; Whichita Falls, TX; Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait

I am running for Congress with the intent to win and be a true representative of veterans and the people of America. I am giving the people in the 11th Congressional District of Illinois a real choice for real change. Please take a moment to look at my campaign website at www.electwallace.us. If you agree with what I have to say and where I stand on issue, please also consider making a contribution."

It was later decided that some of our forces would “view” the film and
participate in the discussion and we entered the room where that was to
happen. I counted nine opposition members including Wallace, a female veteran (who had served in Monterrey, California),
the Library “elected official”, the "official's" mother and father, three
matronly looking older women with the pinched lips and permanent sneers that
one expects of the terminally elite, and a young woman in her 20s who
repeatedly maintained that she had yet to make a decision on the War and was
there to “hear both sides”.

Our people, hearing once again the lies that they’d first heard in 1971,
reacted strongly as each new lie was told on screen. Beverly spoke eloquently
to question why it was necessary to even show what had been proven to be lies
so long ago. Finally, frustrated beyond all reason by our questioning, the
“Library Official” decided that they might as well just get into the
discussion and stop watching the film. Each of us on both sides was given 2
minutes to give our opinion. The operation finally ended at approximately 1945
with what I would call a resounding victory for our side.

Respectfully,

Tom

I don't think the people of Ill. want a greenie being their rep.I would imagine there are quite a lot of better candidates than him. If they want someone who votes with the democrats, like the few independents in the house, and one in the Senate, then they should elect this cat and see what a dud they would get. I believe there are some other cats from Ill running for office, mostly demopcrats, and they don't need any more!
