Welcome to the :gopusa: Precicinct
:flag-marines: :flag-marines: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARINES!:flag-marines: :flag-marines:
November 10, is the 232nd birthday of the US Marine Corps. The Marines can be a mystery to those of us who weren’t raised in the military culture. We know from our history books that they are an elite group, something different from other soldiers. But what really makes them different? Read the rest here (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?p=406 852#post406852)
Kerik was indicted on 16 felony accounts. He plead not guilty.
McCain says this is a bad reflection on Rudy
Rudy doesn't seem too worried about it.
A 'SUPERBUG' has hit MYSPACE infiltrating members' accounts and spamming over and over again to their friends
President Bush visited wounded soldiers  I hope they will be long remembered and well cared for during their life time.
More shopping malls plan to open on T-giving NIGHT --there was talk of bomb scares, but it seems to not be a hindrance.
God bless our military and keep them safe!
Have a great Saturday, everybody!

Good morning everyone. :wavey:
Happy birthday to the Marines!!! Thank you for serving and protecting our country.
I have been working on a group project ever since I woke up. I have sent my part to people in my group for them to read and suggest.
Tonight, Florida plays South Carolina. Florida needs to win this game. I am afraid if they lose anymore games, they will be sitting home instead of going to a bowl game.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE US MARINE CORP.
Please don't call a marine "Soldier". It's not nice. A Marine is a Marine. Semper Fi.
Thank all for your prayers for my wife during her operation. She was under surgery for two and a half hours. Doctor says the back was worse than expected. She's doing fine and expects to come home today.

Good Morning:
I have a pancake breakfast this morning at my niece's elementary school. They are honoring America's veterans at this breakfast. Every student attending is suppose to bring a veteran with them...my niece invited me. Isn't that nice?

Good Morning
We have a bright, cool, sunny , clear day in our part of Northwest Florida.
I was under the weather yesterday and spent most of the day in bed. I was informed that it was probably something I ate.
I want to wish KidColt a belated :HB:
Schultzie, I am so happy for you that you passed your tests. Onward and upward from here on in. Stay safe on the cycle - it's not you I worry about - it's all the other crazies on the road. (Same goes for Mary Lou)
Katy, Congrats on the good grades and I bet you are glad this semester is almost over.
Happy Birthday USMC
It just so happens that we are going to see the play "A Few Good Men" on Sunday. It is being put on by our local Stagecrafters. Next year we get two musicals, "Jekyll & Hyde" and "Godspell" along with "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "Same Time Next Year". I will puchase my Season Tickets on Sunday. They are quite reasonable because Joe and I are both seniors. (Sometimes I like being a senior).
I don't know if I told you but I broke a front tooth about 1 1/2 weeks ago and will have to have a bridge made. They moved my appt. up to Monday. Double edged sword - I know it needs to be done but I despise going to the dentist and am worried because this involves an extraction and placement of the temporary. One good side is that I will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving. It is always best to look at the bright side.

Happy Birthday U.S.M.C.!
And Thank You for all you do!
She's doing fine and expects to come home today.
Great News Ben!! You have both been in my prayers each day. Thank you for the update.
Onward and upward from here on in. Thank you Javajoy. There's still a long road ahead, but I think I'm re-developing some good study habits.
It's been a year or two since I was in high school, and it seems that my mental "absorbsion factor" has declined a little.
Stay safe on the cycle - it's not you I worry about - it's all the other crazies on the road. (Same goes for Mary Lou)
Will do. This isn't my first bike by a long shot, but it's my first in many years.
Ride like everybody is out to kill you,... That's my motto!
I was thinking about naming it "Midlife crisis" but it wasn't expensive enough to justify that.
I didn't make it out yesterday, but I just got everything done, Sermon, bulletins made and printed, etc.
It's suposed to be another warm day today, so I think I'll get in a little target practice this morning while there is no wind, and then put some rubber on the road.
I'll bring home some pictures, the trees are beautiful right now.
See YA!

Gorgeous day in my part of Paradise.
Happy B-Day, USMC. I don't know if I evah told y'all, but my second duty station in the Navy was with the Corps...USMC...a boot camp and training center for the Marines. I was a hospital corps/dental tech. I was one of 7 women cross trained for battlefield duty.
Don't be impressed...it was a computer screw-up and we 7 (I was the leader on it, no big surprise there, huh?) raised so much cain over having to delay training in our other field, either dental or medical, for another 12 weeks, we went thru the battlefield medic training, back packs, combat boots, crawling on our bellies with live ammo going over our heads to simulate the battle field. I was the only one actually stationed with the Corps. GREAT duty. The Corps doesn't have their medical or dental arm, Navy takes care of the Corps and the Corps takes care of their "docs." Get in with the "right people," and one can live like and be treated like absolute royalty!
Had a blow up with Kid yesterday afternoon. NOT good. She's been spending tooo much time with her father and she's following the pattern that the other Kid did just before she moved in with him. I was quiet with the first one living with him, she's so much stronger than this one, but if she moves in, I WILL fight with all four feet, including bringing out dirt I swore I wouldn't. His dirt is pure horror and it will come out in court. It'll also cost him far more in alimony than what he'll save in child support, at the end of this month when we have the hearing for alimony. I've never gone after him for more child support, even tho he's making more than three times he said he did. The judge ain't gonna like manipulation of a child piled on top of perjury. My attorney says our judge is a man who despises men who abandon their children and lie under oath. He may wind up in jail for a bit, and/ or a heavy fine.
Saw Guy last night. What a rock. He is so supportive of me. He adores Kid, and Kid says she really cares for him, but Guy says if she goes, he will support me in whatever decision I and she make. I don't tell him everything, but he sure is astute.
ok, a little pollution...I've got a load of hostility in me and I might head on into the RP thread and unload!

By your leave,SIR!
I would have been proud to have a medic like Radio Woman. All our medics had a five o'clock shadow or more. I remember how refreshing it was to see an American woman again when we returned form Korea.

I guess we’re all very surprised that Hillary would try to plant questions to be asked by the people who went to see her. But she was the one surprised when none of them would ask the question she wanted answered so she didn’t take any questions.
I got a hug of appreciation from a great hugger when I was at Wal-Mart this morning. I was wearing my USAF cap so she asked if she could hug me and thank me for my service.

Happy Birthday to our Marines. Thank you for your service.
It's been a bit of a busy day. Did the second half of the food drive and then took the kids to the dentist to have two cavities of :tails: filled and :boy: teeth cleaned. I think :tails: has learned not to pretend and to actually brush her teeth. :eh: Fortunately, the cavities were in her baby teeth.

VFW members were outside the grocery store this morning, selling Buddy Poppies as they do each year. I always buy one and contribute to the cause.
Schultzie, I passed your tip about Hoppe's #9 on to hubby. He had no idea that could happen.
Ben, glad to hear that your wife is coming home. I hope she gets better quickly.

Hi everyone. :wavey:
I had a very busy day at work.
My mother fixed French onion soup for dinner and it was delicious. I love French onion soup.
Thank you for the congrats about my grades. I am looking forward for some time off from school. Next summer, I will more than likely take Financial Accounting.
Thanks, LM, I'm gonna be fine. Kid? Dunno.
BillyT, and Papajaxx...your posts got me to digging thru an old box of "stuff," I have. It's what's left of my life before my husbands.
As a recruiter, I used to speak to anyone, I like to speak in front of a crowd (I'd rather be in front, then in the middle, a LOT of shy people are like that...it's a control issue). ANYWAY, I have another box inside the bigger box...it's pictures and essays (and thank you notes) from classes of kids I spoke to as a recruiter. My very favorite ones are from the third graders, pictures were drawn on the thank you notes. They are just HILARIOUS!
Now, unnerstand, I was a recruiter in the early 70's, women in any kind of uniform in New Orleans were rare...nurses, maids and waitresses, no female police or anyone of authority.
I wore "tropical uniform" most of the time...a seersucker, light blue jacket, no tie or blouse underneath, matching skirt just to my knees, black low heeled pumps and a dark navy blue beret or what was called a bucket hat (I look good in hats and I wore whichevah suited my fancy that day). Bucket hat was white and navy blue with a gold emblem on the front, the beret had a small gold emblem. My hair was short in the front and long in the back, which I tucked into my hat. My hair was its own color...red.
The letters and pictures these kids sent to me are just a RIOT!
Kids wrote things like..."Thank you, Sargunt Deborah (I was Navy, I introduced myself as either Chief or Petty Officer) I am a 9 year old black boy. I liked your speech. I think I will join the Army. I's sorry, but my daddy was Army and I have to do what he tells me to do." The picture he drew was me with long blonde hair and a red hat, and red shoes.
Another kid wanted to know if I was allowed to be pretty when I wore wear "real clothes."
I will NEVER forget a little boy named Oliver. As the kids went into the auditorium of one school, one little boy was sitting in the hall, back to the wall, his head hanging down. I always let the kids settle down. I waited until the teacher or whomever was in charge of the program introduce me, and then I made a grand entrance from the back of the room. All the kids went in except this little boy. I asked him, "are you going in?" "No, Ma'am, I'm a bad kid, I can't sit still so I have to stay out here."
I wasn't gonna let that happen. I had a few things like bumper stickers, ya know, handouts that I'd pass around. I asked him his name, he told me and I said, "Oliver, yer a big strong boy....won't you carry this stuff for me? I need you to pass this stuff out, quietly, when I tell you to. You just sit where I tell you. Just watch me and I'll give you this sign (thumbs up)." I took him by the hand, dragged him up from the floor, loaded the kid up and he followed me. I ignored the teacher who tried to stop me. I reached behind me and grabbed the kid's collar, and pulled him along.
He was SO proud to pass out the stuff I had. He proudly carried everything and carefully passed out all my handouts.
His thank you letter?
"I love you. I don't be a bad boy and I am going to always be good so I can pass out stickers for you. I stay a good boy, I want to marry you so we can be in the Navy together."

Hi folks! I am back from the birthday party which ended up being a Marathon Reggae Jam Session. Someone videotaped the music. I sure hope i can get a copy. One song was an hour long and constantly evolving and morphing. The bass player had a very strange instrument that was actually two guitars in one. The music was sublime. :)

Happy birthday, Marines.
On the eve of Veterans Day, my family and I have just gathered around the tube to watch a documentary film about WWII on a public TV station, KCET. I just wanted to drop in and express my gratitude toward the Marines and the men and women whom have sacrificed themselves for the freedom of others and to stop evil dead in its track.
Thank you and happy birthday, Marines.
