GOP Push for Money for US-Mexico Fence

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republicans cried foul Wednesday after Democrats cut money for a fence along the U.S.-Mexico border from a defense spending bill.

The $3 billion in fence money, aimed at seizing ''operational control'' over the southern border, is likely to pass later in the year as part the Homeland Security Department's spending bill.

The money would pay for additional Border Patrol agents, vehicle barriers, border fencing and observation towers. It also would be used to pursue immigrants who had entered the United States legally but overstayed their visas.

The border security money was included in Bush's broader immigration bill that collapsed in June. It was to be financed by fines and fees on illegal immigrants.

As important as it is, the border is still a side show. The main event in the big ring is workplace enforcement.

A big fence=a bigger ladder. A lot of well placed
signs along the border might work better that read in Spanish: Cross this border under threat of death! Trespassers will be executed on sight.

Nothing else seems to be working....but alas...I hope too much... and that would be too hard for the bleeding heart liberals to handle and the over sensitives who think more about law breakers than they do protecting their own country from invasion.

I believe it works and I believe most folks don't know how sophisticated the electronics on it are.

I want to make a point here: where those folks suggest we take down the fence, we need to suggest they take the fences they have built .. down. Hillary, Obama and Edwards can live naked also, and with us.

And again... We the people of the United States do ordain, and establish this constitution. We want that government representing the American People. NOT the illegal aliens.

The sooner the fence is built, the better. In Lemmon, South Dakota, the newspaper headlines used to be about an underage 20 year old caught by police drinking beer from a 12 oz.can with 2 underage accomplices.
The new headline is two Mexican Nationals caught burglarizing a Lemmon business.they were apprehended with drugs and $70,00.00 in cash in their vehcile.
No part of America is safe from foreign criminals parading across the open borders. American authorities must be held responsible for crimes committed by illegal aliens on our native soil by heavy fines and long prison sentences at hard labor because of lack of border control.
